WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Dear god, stop. You are going from thread to thread talking in absolutes about how we MUST take player X or we'll be STUPID to take player Y. You've now confirmed that you are basing your opinions on highlight reels. You are in no position at all to be making such grand statements. If you are doing it purely for possible bragging rights about certain players that we don't pick, just save it. No-one cares. They really don't.

Chris From Camberwell!
I'm a little gun shy on his first idea. Luring a player when they are halfway home to WA has ultimately not panned out too well for us recently. I don't think I've ever seen someone on here who thinks they are more on top of the F/S options available than the club. That is some next level stupid right there.

Absolutely incredible game. Shat also over yesterday's snoozefest. Well done to JT. Deserves that moment.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Just added them up and with Cross having been given the tap on the shoulder, if we were to trade all of Howe, Watts and Grimes, that is 562 games experience we'd be pushing out the door in an already very inexperienced side. Cool heads needed at club HQ. All very well to move these guys on, but not if you're replacing them with four rolls of the dice. As good as our youngsters look, we know better than any club what can happen when they are given too much responsibility too soon.

Definitely. There are arguments for and against. For the reasons you've given among others, it would be a cautious yes from me. You'd also have to weigh up the strength of KPPs at the pointy end of this year's draft, and our need to find Hogan a forward partner for the next decade or so.

JPK is obviously a star, but he's no spring chicken.... If recruiters are absolutely confident he can go the distance past 30 then it would be a yes, but this rumour was circulating last year too.

Hope there's some truth to that. Bugg would be a very good pick up.

You're going about that terribly. Your 4th post here was to tell a respected poster they had no football knowledge and should be embarrassed. All over the incredibly complex topic of body language on the field. Completely unwarranted. We have enough angst in this joint without you adding to it for no good reason.

Same, and they are notorious for overrating their players. If we sign him and he comes in and performs, the humble pie will taste delicious. The impact of the drugs saga is a relative unknown in terms of the degree it has affected each individual. It may well have hit him harder than most. I'm still wary as hell.

We will after next season. If we can keep the list healthy, serious inroads can be made in 2016. I'm not tipping final 8 but if we can give it a nudge with our list profile, there is going to be a lot more interest to join the ride in 2017. As it stands though, outsiders need to be convinced and 2015 didn't provide enough in the eyes of many.

Mainly because he's a bog ordinary footballer. The rare times he actually gets his hands on it he coughes it up. Skills mean nothing if you turn to water under pressure. Sure he might be a bit better than Ro Bail. Whoop de doo. What do you give up for a marginal upgrade on Bail? Not a lot I'd suggest. And you sure as [censored] don't offer them a 4 year contract. Almost every player can compile a half decent highlights package. It means nothing. His consistency isn't there and if it's anything more than third round it's a massive risk based on the form he's shown over the past 24 months. I'd go as far as to say the only place you'd find people who think this is a good idea are absolute optimists on Demonland. Everyone else is laughing themselves silly, including Bombers fans. The most positive thing I can say is that a change of club often works wonders. It would have to work a minor miracle on what I've seen of Melksham this season.
