Road to the Finals
One week at a time.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Had a serious back injury while at Carlton, and they obviously thought he was cooked. Worked very hard in the VFL to give himself another chance, which was almost lost through last year's knee injury.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Nice running goal to Oscar Mac. Working well, will hold his place at this rate, then who knows for a contract extension.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Sestan could be one of those players who languishes in the lower leagues for ages and then it all clicks and he goes on to a 10-season AFL career. Or not.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Or Tholstrup or Spargo. A bit of choice ... if needed.

Turner in releases Rivers to the midfield?

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Melksham for Tholstrup. The lad needs some time at the lower level to develop his game. Catch is, no VFL again this week. Turner should come in as well in the backline, but not sure who for. Someone for Fullarton. Anyone.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
+ Jefferson?

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
This. Needs to at least bring it to ground, but even that seems too much. For a big guy he's constantly being out-bodied.

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Apart from anything else, paying the price for playing our future all at once. Windsor and Langford constantly turning it over, Tholstrup doing nothing except bring energy, McVee rusty. Lindsay about the only one who can hold his head up. Will play dividends in the long term, but hurting us now. Also cough Fullerton cough.

11th. Equal with Giants, between Port and the Cats.- POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Much prefer him to Lyon in that role. Nothing against Lyon per se, but he's both opinionated and forthright about his opinions, which then turned OTC into a bit of a pub discussion when everyone's fighting to have their voices heard. Lyon is better on AFL360 where he only has one person to bounce off/come back at him, while Riewoldt's tentativeness and cooler approach lets others in without the argy bargy.- Time to go Goody?
2b/ Forward half pressure. Stops the opposition launching attacks from the back half.- POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Not mutually exclusive.- KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
If he goes, get 2 or 3 strong 1st-round picks, use them on Matt Rowell or Harley Reid.- Time to go Goody?
I see that you're new around here.- GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Petty more goals in 3 quarters than JVR in 5 matches.- GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Don't see how we win this, especially with the outs. Hopefully there are a few positives to take out of it and we can build on the past couple of weeks (in whatever shape or form that might take). Will be good to see the 4 horseman of the apocalypse together for the first time, though they're all a bit underdone.- Time to go Goody?

Confirmation bias. Especially when Simpson put his hand up and said that he'd failed.- Time to go Goody?
Kevin Bartlett: The 403-gamer admitted it’s been a disappointing start to 2025 for the Demons, but doesn’t think Goodwin is solely to blame. “All the talk about Simon Goodwin surprises me,” Bartlett said on Wide World of Sports. “There’s a lot of things happening at Melbourne, but I don’t think it’s the coach,” he said. “You’ve got a good coach, support him.” https://www.3aw.com.au/why-the-talk-on-simon-goodwins-future-surprises-kevin-bartlett/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJu6sxleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHhbyY3e_20noS8MgqBz9kB_uDCAvTF0a949Y8cRRche6Gss9NTc7EWpQZlHa_aem_qpteSh45qGd29OueuagKCQ- Time to go Goody?
It doesn't matter whether you buy it not, it's a fact. Go back and watch the Simpson interview, where he went through trying to change the way WCE players - and admitted that it failed. And it failed because he didn't have the players who could play the way they were trying. Plenty of other examples as well.- Time to go Goody?
It's not all that revolving. Jefferson was injured, Johnson got himself suspended, and when he came back didn't show much/enough. Turner's the only one who's been in/out, though he's a bit of an enigma in that he clearly can deliver but then doesn't - not on a consistent basis. The coaches have backed Fritsch and JVR to find form, but this week's axing is just an acknowledgment that there's a limit to that kind of patience. - Time to go Goody?
