  1. That is why Rhino I think next year we can't make the top 4 but I definately think we can beat average teams like Carlton so I think we can make the 8. You still believe in your stats o great one?

which team is going to get worse though? maybe saints and cats but they wont lose many players and they still have plenty of stars. bulldogs, crows and pies still fairly young. bombers, blues, lions, hawthorn still all young teams. I can't see us being a better side than any of the top 9 next year unless there is a fair amount of injuries.

  2. Craig Hutchison said on footy show that the Bulldogs board have come out and said that Brian Lake will not be traded, and therefore if he doesn't sign, he will be forced into PSD...... I'm assuming he will re-sign with the Dogs, but IF he does declare for the PSD, then A) Would the Dees take him given we have Garland, Frawley, Rivers and Warnock already? MORE IMPORTANTLY B) Would we be able to trade our #1 PSD pick to other teams ie (Hawthorn) that are desperate for a Key defender of the quality of Brian Lake and what would we be able to command in return... pick #9 in national draft perhaps?

brian lake will almost definitely be AA this year, ofc we would take him in an instant, even geelong with perhaps the only better FB in the game would take him. lake is worth more than pick 9 in national draft... a lot more.

  3. it's all just speculation, if we want a pick around 10 we have to give up someone good. no we aren't going to be trading bell+newton+pj for pick 9. that kind of pick would be nice for us as there are a few KPF that will go around there, not sure what kind of choice we will still have at 18 though. good tall backmen is the ONLY thing that we dont completely lack so if we are ever likely to trade someone for a decent pick it is likely to be from there. or possibly bruce/green who may be too old for our premiership window.

rivers is an excellent player, he reads the ball as good as anyone out there and he spoils brilliantly. however not sure how well he can play on big power forwards, he has been somewhat injury prone and has shown glimpses but never really recaptured his rising star year form.

we cant expect to trade off our lowest tier players and expect to get top picks, so if we were going to speculate on SOMEONE it was likely to be rivers.

Hawthorn can trade with someone else as far as I'm concerned unless they want a Rivers / Roughead trade, and even then I wouldn't be happy.

dont let him being your favourite player cloud your better judgement, rivers for roughead would be omg good

  4. Axis Bob... maybe my comments were a little off but not by much as not all rated Jack as no.1 (I'll see what I can dig up)... I think Nicnat and Rich were considered better players but melbourne needed a fwd rather than a ruck or midfielder... Then again Freo and Port rated Harlett and Hill over Rich, so FD rate players differently.... If St Kilda had the no1 pick they would of taken Nicnat of Rich rather than Watts because there isn't that much between them and they have two big forwards

My comments are mainly aimed at the people talking up trengove and bashing of butcher on here mainly due to media hype...

Trengove is rated highly as he is playing well in the SANFL exactly like Rich and had a good carnival

Watts had a good carnival unlike butcher but both stand out becuase of their height, one grab marks and leap.

So I think a lot of demonlanders need to take the blinkers off as we have a very good chance of securing a great bigman in this draft... which is exactly what our team needs rather than another midfielder which I believe we have stocked up on in the last two drafts

i think it was pretty close between watts and nic, but iirc there was a fair question on richs running endurance, which was the reason he slipped a few places.

  5. Warnock is better than any defender they have, and Pick 9 this year is about Pick 14 in any other year so yeah they would do that and I don't think Pick 14 for Warnock is good for the Dees.

we have big defenders in surplus and getting pick 9 would put us in a great position to pick up a KPF; i would 100% trade pick 9 for rivers/warnock, probably not for frawley and not sure about garland.

  6. did people really think we whould get any AA even when the dees make grand finals we cant get many AA, i will tell you you why the dees dont get any AA its one man G.healy he is still bitter about 1987 when the dess knock the swans out in that year by over 70 points, he reason for leaving the dees was to play finals football, but which team played in GF in 1988

so one of the eight selectors is stopping us getting any aa's...

  7. @most peoples

i dont think theres room for garland, frawley, warnock and rivers in our backline, way too top heavy,

also jimmy should definately start in the best 22 had a better season than jones/mclean imo.

Yes, I thought the same. He has the height. Maybe Morton to CHF, Jurrah to FF and Watts to HF then.

i see him more as a goodes type player, anyway hopefully watts will be filling this position.
