  1. Great clips mate, but how could you leave out Woey`s run from halfback??

Haha, simple answer - couldn't find it on YouTube. There are plenty more I have missed including a few by Jurrah and Wonnaeamirri as well as Jeff Farmer etc. etc.

  2. I was there in the MCC members last night, on the wing right where he picked it up and then watched him bounce away and had a perfect view of the goal, the first was amazing....he is a big man, blindingly quick, the second....well I along with Hawthorn, Essendon and neutrals fans alike, I can quite clearly say I went bonkers. The place was going bananas.

I have always said about champions is that you know they are great....then they go and be great.... and then you still cant believe how great they are.

    I was a privlidge (?? ) to see it.

Sure. As I said, they were good goals, but to suggest they are the best ever kicked at the MCG is, quite frankly (pardon the pun), ludicrous.

  3. There is truth to it. Not the snow specifically but the fact that a large proportion of Melbourne supporters are in the higher income brackets, drive European cars and alike (the MCC is full of people in beige). And yes, it gets a response which is why they keep doing it, which is why I like it.

So I guess it's like saying that people that listen to the Coodabeens are radical, left-wing, bleeding-heart pinko communists like the rest of the ABC listenership?

  4. So, the coodabeens are banging on about all of us going to the snow etc etc etc

    Insulting as usual

As usual, the only answer is to get to the G on Monday.

(after the exams - imagine - exams on QBirthday Monday - at least it's in the a.m.)

The Coodabeens were well past their Use by date about 25 years ago.

  5. I'll try and say this nicely, but... why would you want to be friends with footballers on facebook? Strikes me as weird and a little creepy but maybe I'm just completely out of touch.

I had exactly the same thought, although I note that Mr. Morton is in Norwood which might mean he knows Jack personally.

  6. Am I the only one who thought a number of players simply looked as if they were not concentrating? I can vividly remember an incident in the 1st quarter where we after a Carlton goal Miller had not been quick enough back to the center. The midfielders had no idea what to do and Sylvia ended up contesting, but Miller continued to move into the square (lucky no free kick was paid!). Sitting right in front of the coaches' box you could hear Bailey screaming for them to get out and get set up! Scott West and Mark Williams just looked on in dismay as their structures came crumbling down.

I was on the verge of being absolutely embarrassed by that performance today - not anywhere near membership cutting-up lunacy, but all my hopes and expectations have been well and truly dashed after today.

  7. Kudos to Cam Schwab for telling Gary March to keep his nose out of the MFC's business. The only reason Richmond are worried about losing their top draft picks is because they are well aware that the RFC aren't going to contending in finals for a while.

I have full confidence that Tim Harrington and Chris Connolly will keep those required players and clear out any dead wood to make way for the next generation. Just like members are returning to this club which is rising from a long winter hibernation, so too will our players realise that the MFC is on the verge of something.

  8. Yeah, but 3rd last in Melbourne, and we've played 90% of our games here.

Fair point, but you also have to look at who we've drawn in Melbourne and whose home game it has been:

    R1 - HAW @ MCG (H)

    R2 - COLL @ MCG (A)

    R3 - ADEL @ MCG (H)

    R4 - RICH @ MCG (A)

    R5 - BRIS @ MCG (H)

    R6 - NORTH @ ES (A)

    R7 - WB @ MCG (H)

    R8 - WCE @ MCG (H)

    R9 - PA @ TIO (H)

Only 2 of our 5 MCG Home Games were against other Melbourne-based sides.

Compare that with Collingwood who has played 6 at the MCG, 5H (all against other Melbourne-sides and 1A (Carlton). Also Richmond have played 4 home games against other Melbourne-sides in that same period.

  9. I'd be pumped just to see him running and kicking again. If in 4 weeks he's playing at Sandy, he could be used in the seniors.

If in 4 weeks he's playing at Sandy, WTF is he doing on St. Kilda's list all of a sudden?

FYI - Casey is now our VFL affiliate.

  10. I think you'll find it was Tony Shaw. He loves us for whatever reason. Has been very complimentary of us all season.

I think you'll find a lot of commentators are starting to get on the Demon Express, as they realise we play an exciting brand of football which will see us enjoy great success over the next decade. With a bit of luck, we'll be better than the Geelong of the past 4 years.

  11. Add to those changes: Moloney

Brent Moloney, Melbourne, has been charged with a Level Two bumping or making forceful contact from front-on offence against Tom Logan, Port Adelaide, during the fourth quarter of the Round Nine match between Melbourne and Port Adelaide, played at TIO Stadium on Saturday May 22, 2010.

In summary, his five-year good record means he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two point). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 250 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has an existing five-year good record, reducing the sanction by 25 per cent to 187.50 points and a one-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 140.63 points and a one-match sanction.

The MRP are an absolute joke. Sylvia didn't "stage" like L(B)ogan and had his jaw broken yet no report laid.

  12. That was more than likely me, hit the frothies a little too aggressively, should have concentrated my efforts on food as well. Felt very unwell the next day, but better for the win

I think everyone else found it amusing so I wouldn't worry too much.

  13. Did anyone else hear about how Carlton hired a cinema at the jam factory and screened (I think) the port v blues game last week? Sounded a very good idea as would love to watch a game on the very big screen when interstate. Apparently it was free too! Obviously costs etc have to be worked out, but I think it could be a good thing for the club to explore if the interest was there. I'd certainly go along.

It wasn't Carlton who hired the cinema per se, but instead part of Channel Seven's trial of 3D broadcasting of AFL games. The Carlton fans were invited on behalf of Village and C7.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the evening at the Bentleigh Club. Screaming at a box can be so cathartic, especially when 50 other people are doing exactly the same. One guy became particularly vocal with about 6 minutes to go (what a surprise), might have even been a Demonland poster?! He was later sighted outside yelling 'GO DEMONS' to anyone who would listen.

That TV seems like it has been there forever. Maybe worth investing in a high quality projector and using the pull-down screen??
