We are finally on the right path since the dark days of the 70's - and suddenly we are getting impatient about success ... Give the guy credit for having the guts to follow the right path.

Dean Bailey will coach for 10 years. I don't know why anyone would think otherwise. What has he done wrong? In just over a year he's cleaned out the list and been able to clearly articulate a sense of future. Not dissimilar to Alister Clarkson.

Premiership teams have a few absolute champions. I can't see many champions coming through at Essendon, Fremantle, Richmond ... (or Collingwood for that matter - thank goodness) The only new Melb player who has showed champion potential to date is Morton. The rest are potentially useful, but on their own won't be good enough. So, we have big hopes for Watts ....

late Easter celebration - sacrifice Silvia!

With such a young list we need the 3+ year players to lead by example. Can't complain about McDonald, Green, Bruce, Davey & McLean, Jones ... but Silvia is a pathetic disgrace. Even worse when you consider he's got talent. We live in hope he's suddenly going to become an elite player, but truth is - in the context of the bigger picture - the best decision would be to get rid of him at the first opportunity. In the trade market - what would we get for him? Have we ever tried to trade him before?
