nothing like applying the blowtorch and being frank in assessment. out with the cotton wool and pampering; in with the harder edge.

i'm not technically savvy enough to do a parody of good quality. maybe the following lyrics for sinead o'connors Nothing compares to you/
It's been 12 months and 15 days
since you took my life away,
I don't go out every night and sit home all day
since you took my life away,
Since you approached me I can't do anything I want - can't see who ever I choose..
I now eat my dinner in a falafel restaurant
But nothing, I said nothing, can take away those lies,
Because Gubby nothing compares, nothing compares to you.

Surely you're kidding!
FP one of the hardest.
You've gotta consistently produce on limited opportunities and there's a fair reliance on your teammates to provide those crumbing opportunities.
that's what makes someone like a Milne very relied upon. failure to kick goals he cops it, but more often than not he produces goals and in some games scores multiple goals and assists other teammates.

That big scary moment puts stuff into perspective....Like as a kid, when you find out that Santa infact is not real...Life does change...childhood evaporates.
funny. when I found out about mum & dad (a.k.a. S.Claus) , my childhood never evaporated, it still existed. just a slight different perspective on things. same with the easter bunny. still get presents and chocolate, still fun and that doesn't change.
interesting comment though "evaporates",

Good to hear that he is coming back after a bad spell, he will never give up either.
The muesli sounds nice, but for 17 bucks i think i will need to pass
not cheap, but there are dearer out there on the market.
wish jim all the best. inspiring human being.

I love Beamer but in what hemisphere did he have a better year than Marc Murphy
he did ?

Bate and pick 53 to Adelaide for pick 52.
would rather pick 39 from the dogs for Bate and 54.

Won't be in our best 4 mids if we are in premiership mode, but definitely will be in the mix due to rotations, all the extra mid fielders playing elsewhere on the ground and injuries (i.e. so could still potentially play every game).
Does the grunt work, and as mentioned above has continued to improve. Is a good kick at goal imo, needs to get forward more than he does, where he will hurt the opposition.
tenacious and tireless midfielder. thought he did well with his new role. If he can improve on this more and some of his execution he'll prove very handy.

forgot strauss. maybe with strauss' injury, grimes' struggles in mind he may still have a role.

MFC Board
1
CEO (Cameron Schwab) / Football Director (Lyon (for now))
\/
Director of Sports Performance (Neil Craig)
\/
Senior Coach (Neeld) / Elite Performance Manager (Misson) / General Manager Player Devt & Strategy (Viney)
\/
Backline Coach (Rawlings / Midfield Coach (Royal) / Forward Coach (L.Brown)
\/
Backs Asst Coach (?) / Mids Asst Coach (Greaves) Devt Fwd Line Coach (Satterley)
i think I read on the Mfc site when Craig was appointed that he is answerable to the CEO cameron schwab.
as he is the 'director of sports performance can anyone explain or perhaps you jbc, why he isn't answerable to the soon -to-be appointed football director -currently lyon - who has a voice on the Mfc Board ?
i don't think schwab is on the board is he ?

given matty warnock wants out, unless Joel mac has trade value to obtain another player of value in return, I can't see him being delisted.
if Joel Mac is retained I would prefer to see Davis and McDonald get games in AFL. would hope they prosper under Neeld but if Davis isn't quite ready and there is an injury elsewher in backline to either Chip, Rivers Grimes or Garalnd, Joel Mac is handy. maybe a one year contract for transition development.

Would have said it was hard, congested pressure footy rather than 'quality' football. Skills depreciated constantly under pressure especially Collingwoods in first 3 quarters.
In the end Hawks were stiff but their hard game last week and Collingwoods 2 weeks off probably was the difference in the last quarter
Whilst I wouldn't call it a quality game skilswise it was a great relentless physical war
the first three quarters of hawthorn keeping possession with laser like handballs was pure quality.
buddy's goal on the run at full tilt to out run tarrant, was quality
luke ball's match winning snap out of congestion was quality
daisy thomas' running down of rioli with a minute or so to go, quality
dane swan, pendlebury, hodge, mitchell and jordan lewis - relentless quality footy under pressure
but yes, it was also hard, congested in parts, but quality. And I think they're allowed a little latitude to tire in the last. cracking pace.
however people's definition of quality like yours and mine do differ somewhat.
great game in any definition.

I hope the Melbournefc take note. what a game. relentless pressure, physical, repeated efforts, contested marks + possessions.
one kick in it. kudos to both clubs. something our club to aspire to and work towards.
there's a lot of work in front of those in charge !
Unbelievable final.
we're quite a few seasons from producing any such quality football.

Were we 0-4 or 0-5 after 4/5 rounds ? No.

1. St Kilda are 12-9-1 for the year
2. "Boring and winning" has amounted to zero premierships
within a kick of two premierships. which is a hell of a lot better than any other candidate, other than Malthouse.

I don't see anyone talking about WHAT the problems are.
If the administration is a mess then we should be hearing about it in detail and we should be looking to the board to resolve it.
Is anyone else worried about this as well?
no. we shouldn't be hearing about it in detail. it should remain inhouse and sorted.
-
you know what ? I reckon there must be some untapped mature players out there in the SANFL, VFL & WAFL that have missed the drafts. we should check the QAFL, NSWAFL and NT while we are at it. Rookie them and bring them on...oh wait a second..
-
PS That is not say that we shouldn't consider him
nice backtrack.
-
luke power ? not for me bhima.
had you said let's offer nathan fyfe a $3m/5 year deal, you would have got me in for that for sure. unfortunately, i don't know his contract status, but i imagine freo would want him signed up for good. but with pav, sandilands and mundy on hefty contracts, i would be happy as i am sure others would if we had a shot at fyfe. but that is for another thread mate/
maybe ballantyne is another option.

Finally, i need to say this. Any attempts by scully / his management / the afl / gws to paint mfc in a bad light to justify the move are an absolute disgrace and must be refuted aggressively. Take the money and run Tom it is you right to do so. But to try to besmirch the reputation of a 150 yo institutuion that used it's precious number 1 pick on you, gave you the famous no 31 and has vigorously defended your reputation throughout this entire saga is plain wrong. Just go.
if these attempts are true, you are right that it's an absolute disgrace. the mfc should refute any such suggestions.
