It's hard to actually explain what the culture is, but part of it is the teams "home". I think the fact that the players move around so much and don't really have a true base has a lot to do with it. I've seen West Coasts facilities (on a tour of Subi when I toured Perth as a member of the under 15s DVFL squad) and I just couldnt believe what they had. You compare it to the club rooms and facilities Melbourne has, and you can't help but understand why WC players always seem that much bigger and tougher and more committed to the club.
The Culture will never change at the MFC. All that can change is the environment. West Coast will always be the LA Lakers (most hated but also most supported. richest and most glamourous) of the AFL, and we will always be the Milwaukee Bucks (ugly, financially unstable, not many fans) . I think that once Melbourne moves into its home at Olympic Park, we will see a change. And it's even been said before in the media. In saying that, the environment also has a lot to do with culture, so it kind of connects in together. Personal wise, culture will never change. Appearence wise, it can change.

Our inability to score a goal in that last 4 or 5 minutes cost us the game.

pettard again. cleanly and calmly.

wow melbourne. you're allowing a team that has struggled to score for 4 years absolutely kick goals at will.

Pettard again...
Bell misses

Ok this is not good. Goodes is off, so that means Godfrey is no longer tagging. He might get the ball more..... oh no

So, what's to say for the 1st half?
1. We are getting massacred out of the centre, probably the most important place at the SCG; win it out of the centre, one kick and you're 25-30 out of goal.
2. 1st quarter was horrendous. We just couldn't adapt. It's possible, but not acceptable, that 4 straight weeks on the MCG has made it difficult to adapt to such a small ground. We just didn't play it that well and Sydney were always first to the ball.
3. Pettard has been superb. Playing like a veteran. Bar that shot at goal. Playing smart, intelligent and tough fooball.
4. Godders has held Goodes.
5. Hall is killing us.
6. Yze, Davey, Bruce and Pickett have been too quiet. Once again, out leadership seems to have gone missing when we need it. Moloney, Pettard leading the way.
7. Umpires have been average both ways.
6. We are kicking it (bombing it) into a conjested foward line. If it's so full, space it out. Use your brains. Slow it down and wait for a better lead. No, it's not the best way to play the SCG, but you just won't kick goals like that.
7. Johnstone is the most underachieving and undersving footballer to have ever played the game.
8. Nathan Brown is playing his last AFL game.

Godfrey has done very well on Goodes. Bar a few times, everytime Goodes even gets near it, Godders is right there. I love the bloke.

wow.
just wow.
took the words right out of my mouth...

well, that kick ended Brown's career....
-
EITHER A MARK OR HOLDING THE BALL!!!!
U SILLY UMPIRE!
-
tough 50 against hall...
-
so we've been the better side this quarter, yet they've outscored us...
-
Pettard playing smart, brave and skilled football...
