  1. Hospital handpasses this game. They are down to 2 on the bench. If we don't win we throw in the towel for the season.
  2. Blessing in disguise this game being at Marvel tonight. It's so cold, I can see through time.
  3. Looking forward to beating Collingwood in the Grand Final.
  4. He's tracking thereabouts with Eddie Betts and Jeff Farmer at the same age. Similar in some areas to Cyril Rioli at the same age but Cyril did way more work around the ground and had more impact, more often. He's doing okay without setting the world on fire. But he looked great in round 1 and stifled his own momentum a bit.
  5. I like the ins in isolation. Aside from JVR not sure who else we bring in to kick goals. Does Woey play as a roving forward?
  6. 2019, too, don't forget.
  7. As good as they'll get. GWS starting at almost $5 last week was rather fascinating.
  8. Still just in awe that some posters here were calling for Jvr to be dumped for Brown. Tomlinson in to replace Fritsch, move Petty forward. JVR in to replace Brown. Drop Brown. Woewodinncjs in for Harmes. Throw Woey and Pickett in the middle and force Petracca forward. Rotate Pickett and Petracca. I understand Oliver is a key missing link here but Viney has played a key role. We've lost Petracca's presence forward and Pickett never playing in the middle absolutely dries up our pace throuhlgh the corridor. I am just still gobsmacked about the team changes on the weekend. Melksham, Brown and Harmes. We have young guns absolutely smoking it up in the VFL and we go with three guys who can barely keep pace anymore. I love the three of them but we badly need to move on. What a shocking selection misstep that was.
  9. You're probably right. So....it wasn't there? lol
  10. I think as a supporter group we need to stop talking about 2021 in comparison to form. Completely. Our slump atm isn't 7 weeks. It's been 30 rounds, with a couple byes and some nice wins chucked in. And it's a slump IF the consensus is we should be better. I'd argue at this point that Goodwin and co are trying one last time with the 2021 crew. It's clearly not happening. We're not slumping. We're just not that good anymore and we need to keep developing and diversifying our best 22. This means holding the likes of ANB, Pickett, Melksham, Brown, Langdon, Harmes to account and looking to add genuine depth and development into their positions.
  11. Given who we play, if we struggle in those games we're a chance to miss top 8 completely. On current form, losing the next 3 is a genuine possibility. And if most results go the way they should, we could actually drop out of the top 8 by end of round 19. If i were a betting man, I'd bet we're in 6th-7th by then. I don't think people can clearly see how incompetent the gameplan is atm. It's not AFL standard.
  12. St Kilda is rubbish. If we lose to this mob then the season is done. My concern is we've played in heavy conditions in Alice. Granted, Saints come back from a dry trip West. But on Marvel, I can just see them going on a roll and banging on consecutive goals when the game's up for grabs. Zero confidence in performance atm and we're coming up against the exact type of team that can exploit team's that struggle offensively. Very concerned, mostly because we are consistently losing these close games, we we haven't played top class, top 4 exciting football since probably the first half vs Hawthorn in round 9. Even against Collingwood, we should have pummelled them and we barely got over them when they were limping to the final siren. The Carlton game was average, both games were ultimately won on the defensive end and we were slighly better f50 efficiency. If we get into a defensive tussle with the Saints, they have the X Factors to quickly kick goals at Marvel. Unless we can get the jump on them and really kick-start a lead of 3-4 goals by halftime, then you can absolutely bookmark a loss.
  13. It's either poor management or we're going all in on this 22 for one last crack before a mini rebuild. Suspect if we lose this week (high possibility on current form), we might start seeing the likes of ANB, Pickett dropped, and the likes of Turner, Howes, JVR, Woewoden finish the season. This week might be our last crack at saving our season because the wheels are falling off. Some here seem to think we're going to do a Richmond 2017 or Melbourne 2021 repeat. We might, but the alternative is hitting an iceberg.
  14. This says to me he probably knows where we're at. We're badly punching above our weight atm. Things just aren't clicking. I hope he learned a lesson with Brown and continues developing JVR from next week.
  15. This isn't the positive you think it is. We keep "dominating" and yet we lose close game after close game. GWS shouldn't have been close today based on "stats" but reality is that it was a game between two teams battling for a top 8 spot. We finished second off the back of a 10-0 start. We finished the season 6-8 including two finals losses. Overall we've gone 15-14 since Round 11 last year which is good enough to the equivalent of a 12 win season. That's *maybe* a top 8 finish. Collingwood has been playing without multiple top 22 players for most of the past 12 months. But structurally they barely change because the fundamentals and endeavour remains. And it is impeccable. Our performance is glossed over by a huge gap between the teams in 1st-3rd and 4th-12th. We're at the top end of a very large bracket of teams but very far off the top. Yes we beat Collingwood but they also beat us in 2021 when we won the flag and finished first and they finished second last. You need to look holistically now because there is an ongoing trend that people simply refuse to acknowledge. I don't understand it.
  16. It's strategic. Statistically we win the ball but strategically there is no gameplan. We're taking set shots from pockets. We have no crumbing goals. Every single kick is under pressure because the preceding kick is a "kick and hope" to a contest of like 10 players. Outside of the perfect clearance and transition, we play with no structure or gameplan forward of centre. What is the actual gameplan?
  17. Rivers was good. Probably spot on everywhere else.
  18. You just know it'll happen.
  19. Is that a Premiership Metric©️
  20. This is 100% a coaching and strategy issue. Bringing in Brown and Harmes was applauded on this forum. I just can't fathom it. Naturally, JVR killed it at Casey. I really wish we'd stop with this trying to recapture 2021 form BS. We need to move on otherwise we're going to get caught out and the wheels will fall off. We lost today at the selection table and in the coach's box.
  21. Of course he missed it lol
  22. That's game.
  23. Melbourne gets behinds where teams like Geelong and Collingwood kick post high through the middle.
  24. The fumbles....
