  1. The club needs ongoing revenue opportunities. Bulldozing a revenue generating venue for immediate financial gain probably isn't the best move.
  2. I know what point you're trying to make, but this isn't the best way to make it.
  3. With feel good hugs and the pleasure that comes with knowing we no longer support gambling. Obviously.

I'm all outta patience. I have plenty of angst, though.

Willing to give them until mid season. They've struggled in patches against quick teams. But they've still held their own for 6 of 8 quarters. Lets see how they go against Sydney, Hawthorn, teams that build their gameplan around the contested ball.

I think it raises some questions about Goodwin's coaching ability, and he's still learning how to adjust mid-quarter and take more risks. I suspect guys like Hogan, with more run in the middle, will help in throwing the opposition off and stemming these runs. Time will tell. Today was worse than last week imo because we were so far ahead, and never really left second gear even when he hit 40 points up. Given the conditions, I think it's only fair we put off the doomsday talk for another week. I think North is far more dangerous than Brisbane because they have fewer gaping holes across the ground than the Lions do. We can't afford to give them a quarter where they outscore us by 5, 6 or 7 goals. They won't buckle from that. And given the conditions we've just played in, I fear we won't be able to bounce back and have the legs to hold off and survive an onslaught. Next week will be very interesting.
  7. you won't have that issue with the iphone because the battery dies before it has a chance to heat up. ANYWAYYYY Our defense reminds me a lot of Essendon's circa 2000. Make no mistake, their backline is what made them so good. Their transition was amazing, and we have the pieces to be just as good.
  8. Pedo is very much a different player though. confident he can step up but he doesn't demand the defense's attention in the same way McDonald does. Mcdonald is a big loss no doubt. i actually think we can more easily cover Viney than we can Mcdonald.
  9. Don't worry we've got this.

The wheels are already falling off!

Actually one of the better Demons tatts I've seen. Some of the ones people post on the Melbourne fan groups on Facebook make me cringe. I don't have the heart to tell them how awful they are. Your one at least is ageless. I saw someone get a tatt of Hogan's No.1 jumper and the old Melbourne logo. 12 months later we changed the logo.

Jack Watts, Trengove, Toumpas and a 2nd round pick.
  13. You'd need to offer more than that to keep a home sick Victorian on the GC. From what I've heard, the Vics especially that have played up there have struggled from a livelihood point of view. Regardless tho the GC is a shithole.
  14. Ah yes, the Robbie Flower days. 70+ point beltings weekly. Those were the days. 2013 really brought me back, but this is an all new form of nostalgia! In all seriousness though, I never cared enough to hate the white clash as much as some here, but this is a major improvement. I no doubt prefer red and blue than predominantly white.
  15. interesting in this thread. during the season people called for him to be dumped because his goal kicking was killing us. now he's best 22 despite barely playing in the secons half of the year.
  16. It hasn't been a scarf in years.
  17. Can you post a pic of the scarf? i won't get one until round 1 as I'm an Afl member (although i wear my 2010 one, which imo is the best scarf we've had this decade).
  18. Are you colour blind?
  19. We've cost ourselves as much as 10k additional members on the back of that colassal round 23 failure. From a membership perspective this year will be just like any other: hoping members from the previous year sign up, and promising hope and progress to the disengaged. We have nothing tangible or historical to back up any campaign we come up with. Gonna be another tough season for the marketing and membership team. They've been stretching the figure for years. They do a fine job considering the circumstances but they always seem to just scrape over milestones.
  20. I got a letter re. AFL Membership that gave me a few weeks notice regarding automatic renewal. Debits start this week i believe.
  21. The white jumper doesn't really bother me. What bothers me is the outright hypocrisy of it all. The only "clash" is with Essendon...if you're blind and can't differentiate between black and dark navy blue. I think every team should just have one alternate away strip for away games. Switch the colours around like Essendon and Richmond do. Why we need two clash jumpers is beyond me.
  22. Among the most healthy teams in 2017 and couldn't get close to a top 8 side. We destroyed them and should have won by 10+ goals but gave them a sniff which was very Melbourne in 2017. Hinkley is a one-trick poney. They'll go on a run but they've added depth and still have Toumpas as their midfield depth. Watts and Motlop are easily blanketed. Rockliff is unpredictable but consistent enough to be a good addition. I think they'll be top 4 but like Geelong they'll be blown over by a rampaging team with more answers. I hope it's us.
  23. but he didnt. and most of his shots were gimmies. has the talent no doubt but needs a better eye for goal to kick them when we need them. Kent, too. Huge ceiling.
