Round 13 Non - MFC Games
http://www.afl.com.au/ladder Suns want a bottom 4 spot. in Dew's first year. If they beat the Saints, then they're too close to 14th. 15th is perfect for them. They'll start to climb a bit more, in 2019.

Round 13 Non - MFC Games
we missed the chance for Kreuzer a couple of years ago, and we've moved ahead of that time, since with TMc and Pedo working in tandem last year. Anyway, now you mention it, how did we go last week.? Did we win the clearances? because we got smashed in that game. I don't judge a ruck by his H/O stats,,, but rather on our clearances, and how many marks the big guy takes. that's the Key for us. Clearances, and ruckman marks, around the ground. He (Gawn), is still not taking enough marks around the ground. ... but he is improving, deep forward.

The Game, the Press and the future
Sadly, I feel the same way RI. I'm not a person who will just do, as has always been done. unless the enjoyment id there to keep going, and keep doing the same old. The game these days is a visual nightmare. And for people who's eyesight isn't as strong as in youth,,, its very difficult to keep up with all the rotations. And with no players playing an actual position, you can't tell at the ground, who's playing, and who's off the field. Add to that, those annoying 'IN YOUR FACE' adds,,,,, like harvey norman, and it's a 'must turn off' ... like i just did a second ago, hit the mute button, as I type on the PC. TV going to my left, in the background, because the internet is more interesting, than the bloody footy they're dishing up, these days.

Andrew Gaff
- New CEO - Gary Pert
Dormant is right, they are in boxes, swyl. The thing is the progeny are out there, but in other colours, these days. Or other sports. We have to start at ground Zero again, Open up the club for passing trade (Richmond Station), and remake our base.- Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
Actually, I see your point dim... We trade Angus and Hogan to the Blues, for Furphy, and change. The change being, charlie and jacob... curnow, and weitering.- Marc Murphy
If we want to get anywhere we cannot just assume. We have to have a crack. None of us, not even you Red, know what the future holds, and how things will pan out. So we just go into things with a bullish attitude, and do our best. see what comes out of it. At the least, we might push up his contract price for the pies to pay. That inturn, may shake another free ? But we have to be in it, to win it. The worries about loss of face, are just that, nothing, but worries. Those of us who laugh last, laugh the longest & deepest.- Marc Murphy
I do very much think we need mature midfield players. eg Sloane. and I'm not kidding myself. or you. Shiel, another I would be chatting to strongly, as the Giants tumble down that bean-stalk. Vince and Lewis will in my mind, finish this year. I would pay Lewis out, and rookie him. To play as assistant coach at Casey. We can then call on him next year, IF required. I'd be cashing in all salary cap space possible, this year, to use on a gun. no, not Gaff... good player, but not a gun.- Marc Murphy
Because they don't fire-up, when needed. They can't do the magic - - - - - - - - What we needed this time last year can change, from that time, to now... and what we need going forward, is not so much that gut-run, which was so important to us 12 months ago, But rather, midfield speed, and x factor. Our power players like Petracca, are not quick across the ground. And don't have that much X factor, with the ball in their hands. We have unearthed ANB, and Harmes is emerging as gut runners. I think Stretch may also add to this equation? We need that point of difference, who can create from inside the Mids setup. And when resting at half-forward, as well. We are a little bit vanilla in our inside midfield group rotations, apart from our power contested winning.- Marc Murphy
Of course we have a chance Red. It depends on our desire to do it. We need more speed with the run, than just plain endurance run and carry. Run and carry will not bust open tight finals games. That takes x factor , speed and pinpoint kicking. I sense the real issue why many here don't want to discuss this, is because it means further trades, possibly of players they are emotionally invested in. If we are to be ruthless, we can't let these things get in our way to getting to the Grand Final, and winning the darn thing, instead of getting belted in them.- Marc Murphy
why do you think Sloane wouldn't come to us?- Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
taking pizz- Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
a question, IF,,, Dylan Shiel or Josh Kelly wanted out of GWS, to come back to Victoria.? What would you be prepared to trade, to get one of them to the Dees, for 2019 ?- The Game, the Press and the future
Reduce the interchange bench back to 3 players. And have 2 emergencies, for serious hospital cases only. Reduce the number of rotations by 10 per quarter, from where they are now in 2018. I'll give him a clue; take the rules of the game back to what they all were back in 1993;,,, and then leave them the Hell alone.- Marc Murphy
I don't see either of those two as Pure-Inside Mids,,, and that's what we need;,,, well rounded Mids to compliment our tough on-ballers. Tyson was hopefully to be this, but hasn't. This is why I say, of these two, Murphy or Sloane. I would think the obvious choice would be Sloane. Add Gaff into this equation, and I still think Sloane. Because with Sloane we have that well rounded Mid who will give us enough time to grow a young kid from the draft to become his successor. I just don't think Gaff is quick enough, for what he will cost us. IF we can only take one more top talent at present, with our cap space, I'd rather Sloane, or De Goey. Of these two, I would prefer De Goey. Rich mans ANB- Watts Dropped from Port
not only Goodwin.- New CEO - Gary Pert
I'm smelling an AFL push around these matters. Ans since PJ was saying he would stay on 12 months if necessary, to mentor the incumbent. Now it seems October is the deadline? Somewhow I don't feel like this, is all our boards walk?- New CEO - Gary Pert
its time we took a good one.- New CEO - Gary Pert
What do you mean, swyl? I am for Pert.- Marc Murphy
I hear the Lions need mature players. and leaders. So, of the mature inside Mids in free agency, would you have Murphy first, or Sloane ? This is my main concern, with our current Mid setup. We are currently very one paced, across most of the field. Too much so, for the big games. Now that we are topping off our weaknesses, we need to add more speed. This choice this year, is possibly the last big name we can bring in. So IMO we must get someone who has at least some genuine speed, or a turn of speed. And good decision maker under pressure. I noted DeGoey's kicks, early in the game on Monday under pressure, were very good, and hit the targets, which resulted directly in goals. So DeGoey is dangerous when forward, and when up around the middle. Maybe he is a genuine centreman, in waiting ?- New CEO - Gary Pert
Most likely they did RM. ... but what IF the choice was down to a shortlist of say 3, and the board was divided on close choices. _ and then, what if the choice was leaked from head office, before the board had chosen ? What then ? - New CEO - Gary Pert
