Everything posted by KC from Casey

  1. Counting restarts: Hallahan 15, Clifton, Lambert 13, Schroder 12, Hogan 11, Iles, Martin, Sewell, Cain, Moore 9, Magner 8, Jolley 7
  2. Geelong's Matthew Knights named VFL Coach of the Year.
  3. Casey skipper Evan Panozza is VFL Team of the Year full back.
  4. Best conducted club went to Essendon VFL. Obviously, they kept Hird & co away from their VFL team.
  5. Jesse Hogan into equal third place after 12 rounds (but he played 5 minutes in the last 3 rounds).
  6. After 11 rounds Mitch Hallahan of Box Hill Hawks leads. Magner not in sight.
  7. Former Demon Shane Valenti (now with Port Melbourne) now a VFL Life Member. Congratulations to a tough little customer.
  8. James Magner is one of the favourites and Jesse Hogan an outside chance for tonight's JJ Liston Trophy for VFL B & F. In the meantime, congratulations to Casey Scorpions' Aiden Lindsay who has won the A.Todd Medal for the best Development League player with just 13 votes. His teammate Jordan Pollard was runner up 1 vote behind him.
  9. And it's all over and it's a slaughter Northern Blues by 113 points over an undermanned Casey. 2013 AFL Victoria Development League Casey Scorpions 1.0.6 2.2.14 4.2.26 5.2.32 Northern Blues 3.5.23 7.9.51 13.13.91 21.19.145 Goals Casey Scorpions Corrigan Jackson McInnes Meadows Neville Northern Blues Cattapan Soncin 3 Clark Dorman Dufficy Visser 2 Ballard Bonaddio Gleeson Lincoln Best Casey Scorpions Neville Godfrey McInnes Rutherford Hill Irwin Northern Blues Jenkins Cattapan Meese Ballard Dufficy Soncin
  10. Three Quarter Time: Casey Scorpions 4.2.26 to Norrhern Blues 13.13.91.
  11. Half Time: Northern Blues 7.9.51 leading Casey Scorpions 2.2.14
  12. Just as the Casey seniors were depleted thanks to injuries, the development league team has also lost players to the senior team. They trail at quarter time 1.0.6 to 3.5.23.
  13. I promised yesterday to provide my list of players who are eligible to represent Casey for the remainder of the finals series. Hopefully, we have a clear run with injuries which will influence the final make up of the team. Rohan Bail (*) ^ Dom Barry Sam Blease (injured/season) Mitch Clisby # Tom Couch Troy Davis + Max Gawn ^ Tom Gillies Jesse Hogan (injured/season**) Neville Jetta ^ Joel Macdonald (retired) James Magner + David Rodan (injured/retired) James Sellar ^ Jake Spencer ^ Nathan Stark + James Strauss (injured/season) Rory Taggert Josh Tynan * Bail has played 5 games for Casey seniors and 1 for the development league (eligibility being checked) ** reported to be a possibility to be fit if Casey makes the grand final but this is highly unlikely # missed this week with suspension ^ missed this week due to senior duties including emergencies + missed this week; believed due to injury
  14. Yes - next week it's against the winner of Sunday's Essendon v Werribee elimination final. Likely venue is North Port Oval on 8 September. I have made a list at home of the players I believe have qualified and will post it at the weekend.
  15. All over and Geelong win by 49 points. Casey Scorpions 3.1.19 6.2.38 7.3.45 8.3.51 Geelong 3.6.24 7.11.53 12.13.85 14.16.100 Goals Casey Scorpions Gillies 2 Corry Couch Page Pedersen Petropoulos Plummer Geelong Kersten 4 Bathie Barham Walker Stringer 2 Horlin-Smith Hunt Best Casey Scorpions Gent Pedersen Petropoulos Plummer Tynan Riseley Geelong Sheringham Brown Horlin-Smith Corrigan Hunt Banjanin Leading stats Pedersen 29, L Tynan 26, Gent 25, Couch, Plummer 21, Petropoulos 17, Barry, Taggert 16, J.Tynan 15 Casey plays the winner of Sunday's Essendon v Werribee elimination final. The Scorpions have been eliminated by the Tigers two years in a row so it could well be a case of déjà vu.
  16. The plumber gets Casey's eighth goal. Little bloke. Big heart.
  17. Only one more goal to the Cats so far in this quarter as the small group of Casey fans contemplated the long drive home.
  18. Three quarter time: Geelong 12.13.75 lead Casey 7.3.45 as the weight of AFL listed players kicks on. Leading Stats Pedersen 22, Gent 20, Couch 18, L.Tynan 16, Petropoulos 15, Plummer 14, Nicholls 11, Taggert, J.Tynan 10
  19. Geelong responding whenever Casey looks like getting a sniff. Still a very good effort from Casey whose "lesser lights" are working hard but to little avail as the Cats bang on a few to go out to a lead of 22 points.
  20. Second half starts in the rain and Will Petropoulos goals to peg the margin back to single figures.
  21. Half time and the inaccurate Cats have a 15 point lead. Casey Scorpions 6.2.38 to Geelong 7.11.53. Goals Gillies 2 Corry Couch Page Pedersen Leading stats Gent 16, Pedersen 14, Petropoulos , L.Tynan 12 It's a good effort for the Scorpions who have only 7 AFL listed players - Gillies, Couch, J Tynan, Jamar, Pedersen, Barry and Taggert with Bail and Sellar not taking their places in the selected side.
