  4. Thanks Poita. The fact that he's playing in the soon to be Development League says it all. Unfortunately, a likely delisting.
  5. Angus Brayshaw is set to return to football for the Casey Demons against Ess Angus Brayshaw is set to return to football for the Casey Demons against Essendon VFL at Casey Fields on Saturday night. Dandenong Stingray over age player Bailey Morrish who was unlucky not to get drafted last year is set to be 23rd player. Strangely enough, he recently played in that same role Williamstown. The Demons now sit just outside the top eight but the injuries that have hit the senior club so hard over the past month have had a flow in effect at Casey making it very difficult for them to regain momentum in the finals race. 6. The field was fairly limited yesterday and a number of players who took part are not really in contention. You can rule a line through Sam Weideman who has had a couple of slow weeks after his six goal game at Box Hill. He simply isn't going to replace Tom McDonald, Jesse Hogan or Cam Pedersen at the moment and don't forget that Jack Watts is a possible selection for next week. Dion Johnstone, Declan Keilty and Mitch King aren't ready and Mitch White was dropped last week and will find it hard to make a return very soon - if at all. As I mentioned in my report, Jake Spencer won hit outs but doesn't get enough of the footy. He took just one mark last week and none yesterday which, even allowing for the conditions, is not good enough if you're 202cm tall. Unfortunately, Jack Trengove's cards seem to be marked. If he was going to get a game it would have been this week. I can't see him breaking into the team ahead of the older heads he's competing against for a spot in the side and Dom Tyson is likely to return next week and is way ahead of Jack. Paradoxically, Jack is one of the "form" players at the club because, if you think about it, he hardly puts a foot wrong, week in, week out. Corey Maynard must be close to getting a go and I wonder how close he got this week to a Category B rookie upgrade ahead of Joel Smith who Goodwin gambled on instead despite the fact that Smith had only one game under his belt after a return from a long term injury of nearly three months - a decision that nearly backfired. That leaves Ben Kennedy who will no doubt be regretting those after match drinks from a fortnight ago. He was pretty close to best for Casey and put in a four quarter performance but again, is no better than on par with the last two or three in the MFC team, so is unlikely to get a nod from my viewpoint. The most likely to get a run would be Jay Kennedy-Harris who didn't play for Casey as he was the carry over emergency for Melbourne today. His form has been hot at Casey for more than a month and, as long as stays away from the drinks, he could get a run in Darwin. The Demons are once again traveling on a six-day break. It might pay for Goodwin to shuffle the deck and bring in some fresh players which is something he was unable to do last time because of the misdemeanours of JKH and his mates. Ironic but a new trio of Watts, Tyson (subject to their fitness) and JKH might be just the thing to freshen up the team for the big game in the Top End v Adelaide.
  7. He was fairly inconspicuous for most of the game but did a few nice things at the end and is certainly worth a few more games to test him out. He finished with five touches but also laid six tackles.

  10. Today could very well be our season defining game.
  11. And there's the siren for a 28 point win to the Tigers. Peter Jackson VFL 2017 Casey Demons 0.1.1 1.2.8 3.3.21 7.6.48 Richmond VFL 2.5.17 7.6.48 11.10.76 Goals Casey Demons Fritsch Scott 2 Ferreira Kennedy Maynard Richmond VFL Bzenic 3 Elton Moore 2 Bolton Ellis Silvestro Townsend Best Casey Demons Trengove Maynard Munro Fritsch Kennedy Johnstone Richmond VFL Broad Townsend Beasley Moore Bzenic Fletcher Disposals Kennedy 32 Trengove 31 Maynard 25 Munro 24 Gent White 20
  12. Angus Scott's second brings the deficit to a respectable 28 points late in the game.
  13. Tigers lead out to 40 points well into time on.
  14. He had a strong first half but went out of the game in the third quarter. Still, has been strong around the ball in a beaten side.
  15. Corey Maynard was the beneficiary of some clever ruck work from Jake Spencer but his first goal was met a quick response. Tigers lead by 34 points.
  16. Ben Kennedy pushing his credentials for promotion with a strong game, scores a goal for the Demons.
  17. Three Quarter Time Casey Demons 3.3.21 to Richmond VFL 9.8.62 Goals Ferreira Fritsch Scott Disposals Kennedy 28 Trengove 22 Munro 21 Maynard 20
  18. Also, a bloke with a black and white beanie just told me that Bucks is gawn.
  19. Yes - after about 10 minutes of scrappy football where nobody was able to score, the Tigers scored a goal. Bayley Fritsch replied immediately and now another to Richmond. It's 9.6.60 to 3.2.21 with 20 minutes gone in the third.
  20. Angus Scott opens proceedings in the second half with a goal at the 4 minute mark.
  21. Half Time: Richmond VFL 7.6.48 to Casey Demons 1.2.8 Goal Ferreira Disposals Kennedy Trengove 18 Maynard Munro 17
  22. Another goal to the Tigers who lead by 40 points. Today's Casey team is hardly recognisable compared to the one that beat Box Hill a fortnight ago. Fortunately, they have a bye next week when they can lick there wounds and wait for some MFC listed players to return from injury.
  23. Tigers respond with two goals and lead 6.6.42 to 1.2.8
