  1. Best. Player. Available. It is as simple as that when it comes to drafting.

I've always wondered about that. I would imagine that it's relatively simple with the top two or three but what happens when you get to pick four and there might be four or five players perceived to be of about equal value or ability. Surely then you're entitled to say "well, we need a full back or a running defender or a ruckman" and then chose from that group accourding to your needs?

  2. Heard from a good source that he done a time-trail, afterwards walked into one of the rooms down at Optus oval, and seen his name on the whiteboard as DELISTED... Rang Ricky Nixon and told him, who then rang the club, and they straight away called a meeting with him, and told him the news.. I think they have there head so far up Judds ass, no other player counts down there... Especially from a old team mate

That was the problem. He finished the time trial 24 hours after everyone else. By the time he finished he'd been delisted.

  3. Not that I'm advocating that we get the guy, because I would say no in an instant, but would anyone have interest in picking him up in the PSD

    Source: Whitnall delisted

This reminds me of those old slimming ads.

Want to lose 280 pounds of ugly fat?

    Delist Lance Whitnall!

And to think we were seriously contenders to pick him up in the trades of two years ago!

  4. west coast will accept Carltons offer in the end.. after all its not too shabby..

    its all hot air..

its far better than most can offer.. WCE like CFC are full of sh!t !!

    all bluff and bravado..

Based on what it seems that other clubs were apparently prepared to give for Judd, Carlton's offer is not enough and WCE's ask is too much. They'll find a middle ground because Judd's currency with other clubs has dropped since he announced Carlton as his preference.

  5. I just got an sms message on my mobile phone from a number I don't know saying "at a corporate lunch announcement this arvo will be judd to melbourne". I have asked the smser who he/she is, no reply!

Anyway, I'll put it out there.

Any chance you can come back when the story's substantiated?

  6. Bulldogs delist four players (from Yahoo7)

Pacy utility Cameron Faulkner was one of four players delisted by the Western Bulldogs on Wednesday. Faulkner, 23, played 18 games for the club in four seasons, but only one in 2007. The Bulldogs also cut Travis Baird, Damian McCormack and key position player Tim Walsh, who was the No.4 pick in the 2002 national draft. Former Brisbane Lion Marty Pask and Michael West were delisted as rookies. Luke Darcy, Matthew Robbins and Brett Montgomery have all retired.

  7. agree 100%. I also reckon Archer is a has been, and milks the shinboner spirit for all it is worth. I know he baths orphans in Africa or whatever he does, but the accolades he gets far out weigh the deeds. It was great to see him get carved up on Sun. He is not in Hirds stratosphere.

    Shinboner spirit pppffffffff!

Reckon Laidley should sign his contract before the weekend or he might get the DCM.

  8. Gday Demonlandists,

I'm a regular reader here and a regular poster at Demonology. I've just finished writing a comprehensive end of season review which I thought I'd like to share with you guys here.

2007 Season Review - 'The Season From Hell'

Its a long read; if you have any thoughts or opinions on it (+ve or -ve), please share.

Note to admins: If this is in the wrong section, my apologies.

    Cheers

Well done Dee Man and I like your name too!

  9. One of my favourite players (yes.. it clearly is my week with one of my other favourite players White celebrating a milestone game too!)

Continuing to improve and excite, and provide a glimmer of hope in what has been a shocker of a year

... and it doesn't hurt that he's been blessed with good looks

    Congratulations Col!

We've all had very high expectations of him as an early draft pick and he really hasn't lived up to them so far although he keeps promising to burst out at any time. His best game so far was against the Doggies in Round 7. Time to take the next step if not tonight then at least next year after he has had a long period of good health and a good pre season.

Congratulations on your first 50 Col but let's hope that the next 50 and the ones to follow are much, much better.

  10. It's no laughing matter. Despite Collingwood's humiliation against Richmond last night, Malthouse seems to regard the melbournefc with contempt. Says he's going to rest Travis Cloke and possibly Dale Thomas - We need a midfield makeover: Malthouse. Bloke has a short memory. With Fraser and Swan appearing to be injured and Ben Johnson reported, we could derail their whole bloody season next week!

Here's an oldie but a goodie and it's been around in a number of forms but this one's appropriate for this morning -

Snow White has stayed at home to clean house and prepare lunch while the Seven Dwarfs have headed off to work at the mine. She takes their lunch down to them at the mine and upon getting there she sees there has been a cave in.

Snow White is quite concerned that they could all be buried under the rubble and even worse could all have died so she calls down the mine shaft,

"Are you all alright, is anyone hurt, are you all alive?"

She hears a reply. "The magpies will be premiers in 2007!"

With a big sigh of relief she says "at least Dopey's alive!"

  11. While fans of 15 other clubs are delighted about tonight's result, Magpie supporters are not happy judging by some of the talkback tonight. Blaming everything from the prez to the coach to the altitude training in Arizona.

Do we invite MM to apply for the vacant coaching gig or do we wait until Eddie calls the press conference?
