  1. C. Stands for Centreline Travis Johnstone. C Johnson (Note the spelling) is not in the side Wheatley is a great kick and if in form can be deadly with his disposal. Yze has had his day I am afraid. Bartram and Dunn will be in the side in 08.
  2. I saw the Cats play last year 06 and frankly they were not much better than the Dees in 07. So lying awake last night, I thought what our Grand Final Team of 07 could have been, barring injuries. B. Whelan (5) Carroll (21) Holland (10) HB. Bell (17) Rivers (3) Wheatley (14) C. Johnstone (15) Jones (21) Bruce (16) HF. Green (18) Newton (10) Bate (19) F. Davey (18) Neitz (15) Roberston (15) R. White (22) Mclean (14) McDonald (21) Int. Sylvia (16) Pickett (9) Moloney (10) P.Johnson (16) Emerg Bartram (1) Dunn (12) Petterd (9) Frawley (9) How would this team, if they were all fit have gone against Port Adelaide in the GF, I reckon we might have won, however there is no way we would have beaten the Cats. The team above has glaring weaknesses. 1. Full Back We will not win a GF with Carroll as FB. He is not tall enough and gets easily out manouevered by stronger Full Forwards. Holland is there to handle resting ruckmen and monster FF's. 2. CHF Newton, I see him more as a Full Forward replacement for Neitz not as a CHF. Bate is not strong enough for CHF. 3. Rucks White is on the way down and Johnson and Jamar are not No 1 ruckmen. 4. Fragile list, the number in the brackets is the number of games played in 07. This indicates a massive problem with our list, we need to become physically stronger and more resilient. I also fear that a lot of players played injured for most of the year. I have not checked Geelong's team for games played in 07 but I would expect most to be in the 20-22 range except for King, Rooke and Nathan Ablett. Note the players that did not make this team. Miller, Ward, Yze, Bizzell, Godfrey, N. Brown, Jamar What does all this mean 1. Target a No 1 ruckman in the draft 2. Target a FB and CHF in the draft or by trading 3. Get a fitness coach who can turnaround this fragile playing list. 4. Chris Judd is not the answer
  3. This is a bit of a bizarre solution, but the Dees and Carlton should do a deal with the AFL. Toss for the priority pick before the game and get that factor out of the game. Then get out there and bloody play football to win like its a Grand Final
  4. Just announced on Sen In Neitz Green Moloney Out Dunn Garland Davey
  5. I have followed th Dees for 44 years and todays effort was one of the worst I have ever seen. The only blokes who have any physicality are Whelan, Jones, Sylvia. Johnstone tried as did Ward and Petterd. Bell tried hard but lacks skill and judgement. The others are pathetic and in my opinion do not want to play hard committed running football. I watched the game on Foxtel and I can honestly say, the tackling was the most inspid weak gutted disgusting display I have seen from the Dees. We need to go and watch the Storm play and tackle. We look like a bunch of schoolboys running aroung playing against men. If WCE had kicked straight they would have won by way over 100 points. Immediate departures from this team should be numerous, in fact names who people consider to be good players and our supposed good players in Green , Bruce McDonald all play like weaklings. Compare those three to Judd Kerr and Braun and even the WCE new players look more like men than the seasoned Dees. I could not get over how when Miller, Neitz etc missed the mark they would just stand there and let the Eagles run away, absolutely pathetic. Miller is just a shell of his former self and the Club should do everyone a favor by giving him a run at Sandy. Poor old Ferg was getting killed by Hansen before he got injured and I am afraid he should never play again for the Dees, he is not up to it physically. Carroll kept falling over and has lost the ability to keep his eyes on the ball, at least Holland stands up to it and looks at the ball, he would have been better against Lynch. If I was Daniher I would resign because what I saw today was as bad or worse as when he started 10 years ago and you know what happened to that coach.
  6. Green (Hammy) and Sylvia (Knee) are in doubt according to The Australian today. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...5012432,00.html
  7. To add further misery check out this in The Australian today not only are Green (Hammy) and Sylvia (knee) in doubt Gardner will not take these losses into account when assessing Daniher's future. At least Neale will be comforted by that. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...5012432,00.html
