Yep i think so too. Apparently the Crows are keen on the Saints Tom Lynch. He is a Matthew Bate clone. Though Bate is superior in his lead up ability. Pick 12 + bate i would gladly give up for Dangerfield, and as i eluded to earlier, maybe even swap our 2nd round pick for their 3rd round pick. Given how shallow this draft is, the chance of the player you want with your 2nd round pick will probably be likely to be there at your 3rd round pick, given you could throw a blanket over 50 kids with the mid-selection picks. so pick 12, Bate and pick 31 for Dangerfield and pick 50

the compo picks alone won't net us o'meara, but throw in warnock and it would get the deal done. one i would be very willing to make. as for dangerfield, pick12 + a player (which we are willing to part with) won't get it done either, as he's contracted, which makes it harder. Some jossiling of picks might be required, like our 2nd rounder for their 3rd or something. if we went down this path, with viney coming in next year, we're gonna then need to go on a KPP drive over the next few years.

there is quite a bit of a wait between trade week and draft day, i expect an announcement to be made during this period. Offers maximum media exposure

Let's throw Warnock in whilst we're at it! No, i'm serious! Effectively Scully picks + Warnock for O'Meara, which has been mentioned before Pick 12 + Morton + Bate for Crouch The only downside to this is that we are going to need to wait a year to reap the rewards. WIth Viney coming in along with O'Meara and Crouch, all we would need is to boost our tall stocks. We have plenty of cap space, so go after them in trade weeks to come, when we are really pushing for a serious tilt. Who knows, by that time Watts and Cook might be firing and Frawley, Garland and McDonald (of the Tom variety) might be holding down the fort very nicely.

One of the few who seem to not have too much of an ego in the afl, or at least not let it affect him. Fantastic to have brought him in, as we let one of the other few, in Dean Bailey, go.

Haha, u and i think alike. I know that we haven't given up $cully and the 2 compo picks (he has magically morphed into the compo picks), but from a GWS pov, they are giving up nothing and are gaining $cully + 2 compo picks. Effectively for us, he goes out and in comes O'Meara (in a years' time though, don't forget) - (should he find his way down to the MFC)

If we are interested, then we cannot pay overs, if anything unders should be the go. Plus, not give up quality picks, only someone that is expendable, like a Bate or Dunn (even that could be considered too generous).
-
well if that's the case, then we won't be spending big for another 2 years then, when their young kids come out of contract. Maybe John Patton!!!! Start chirping in his ear now.

O'Meara is from Dongara which is about 3.5 hours north of Perth. So it's not exactly home. He moved to Perth for school this year, so moving interstate won't be as big a deal to him, as to others. Very similar situation that Trengove was in when he was drafted.

You might have a change of mind if you saw O'Meara play! He is superior to Scully in all aspects bar accumulation of disposal, which O'Meara concedes he needs to work on. If GWS only give up the 2 mini-draft picks, they will be O'Meara and Crouch (unless a SA club gets one of them).

we've got a player already on our list who plays a similar role to McKinley, only they will end 4x the layer McKinley ever will and will play in many more positions. That man is Jeremy Howe.

Wouldn't mind drafting Kavanagh. Is a good height, quick, good endurance, good disposal, likes the rough stuff and can play both inside and outside mid.

If you were granted three wishes during trade week ...
Demon Disciple replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
I would only have 1 wish outside of Melbourne getting the likes of Franklin, Hodge, Judd, etc. That would be Pendlebury going to GWS early, Trav Cloke deciding to walk and for the rest of the comp to pick the eyes out of the rest of the Pies carcass, leaving FIGJAM with absolutely nothing to work with and for the Filth to wollow in their own loser culture crapulence! That is all. -
Gotta agree with you SS. Bartram, whilst he gives it his all, is clearly not up to AFL standard. His decision making is shocking, his disposal is shocking and his so-called pace is a rarity to be seen. I could easily name 8 players that i would trade/cut (obviously we aren't gonna get rid of so many). But if we want to be serious they simply must go, and he is at the top of my list.
-
Sure you don't want to give away too much, but i still reckon departing with both compo picks would be well worth it. Imagine Viney and O'Meara coming in, with a year already under the belt of say a Todd Elton or Jackson Paine (i'd prefer Elton at this stage - draft camp results to come)
-
I agree. Pick 4 in this years draft, big woop. GWS has pick 1,2,3 and 5 plus many more. The 2 compensation picks will be a lot more tantalising than pick 4 in this years draft. Many on here won't be willing to give up both compo picks, but i definitely am. Have a look at his video on the AFL website, and granted that all highlight reels show just that, but by god he is a mover. He seriously moves like a Rolls Royce poetry in motion. I thought Brad Crouch was something, then i stumbled onto O'meara's video, and wow. We have to do everything in our power to try and get him to the club.

So by my count, we have 2 spots on the coaching panel to fill, in order to make it 8. An assistant back-line coach and the forward coach. Should come out over the next week or so, on would imagine.

That's the problem jacey, these pessimists don't allow themselves to enjoy pleasures and would much rather inflicting and receiving pain (on a subconscious level anyway). They are both sadistic and masochistic. They are the one's who will not be fully content after winning a premiership, because they will immediately think 'well it shouldn't have taken this long in the first place'.

I reckon one of the first things Garry would've wanted to see when first coming into his role was the Andrew's report. Obviously without me knowing one iota of what Garry has actually done at the club or what that report had revealed, it just can't be coincidence that all of this off-field action has taken place in sync with Garry's short-term role with the club. It wreaks of the Lone Wolf - "What's wrong? How do we best go about fixing it? OK, then let's fix it!" Garry's role cannot be underestimated in what has transpired over the past month. Neeld's role too, as he seems very much a type of person who will not tolerate laziness, procrastination, or anything else that would appear to hold us back. I eagerly await trade week, now that we seem to have people in power who aren't afraid to act.

ever since Ricky was sent back to the magoos for poor performance, he has come back with a tenacity to tackle and do all the 1%'s. Such a demotion has made him become an even better player, so his value to us as a club has increased significantly. There is no chance in hell we will let him go, after he showed through the latter part of the season that he is willing to play more of a team oriented role. Kudos to Ricky for the change in mindset, it will not go unrewarded!

All is answered on the MFC website, goes through what Craig will be associating himself with at the club.

AFL.com.au reporting it too. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/124371/default.aspx This Kim Hackdorn has absolutely NFI. How many times has he got things wrong now? Talk about amateur hour!

Was a good get for sure. You could have at least told me that you are in line for our forward position too!!! You'd go better than Mahoney anyway. By the sounds of it though, you apparently charge a fair bit. You better be worth it .

Senior coach - Neeld Senior Assistant - ??? Craig/Laidley (think Viney will stay in his GM of player development role) Defence coach - Rawlings Defence assistant - ??? Midfield coach - Royal Midfield assistant - Greaves Forward coach - ??? Sumich (if he misses out on the saints gig, then he needs to get more experience outside of the eagles) Forward assistant - Satterly 3 coaching positions to go.

Kosi would just be a list clogger. We are trying to improve our list, not go backwards. Sure we are crying out for a genuine FF, but come on, this is just stupidity. No point getting a KPF just for the sake of getting one. If a DECENT one isn't available, then draft some. BTW, Kosi is not decent (just to clear it up). I don't want a quick solution, i want one that will provide longevity.
