  1. Maybe have him as our faux coach, with Yze doing the heavy lifting?
  2. One of the main problems is the travel, that and being able to afford player payments. A lot of clubs are struggling to even meet the minimum cap such is the lack of money some smaller clubs have. Also many of the local player's have full time jobs where it's even a struggle to get to just one training session a week. If AFL Victoria was to fund the comp and some juicy prize money maybe, but i doubt there'd be much of an appetite for it from both AFL Vic or local supporters. The closest thing currently to something like that is the inter-league weekend where the best player's from each league play off against others from other leagues.
  3. Went down to Phillip Island to be a teacher i think, and apparently just rocked up to Bulldogs training one night and said he wanted to play for them. Bret Thornton & Brad Fisher were a class above when they played for Dalyston a few years back, so no surprise that Pedo took out the B&F. Could've used him at Fishy this year, that's for sure.
  4. Knocked out in the EF. But they saluted 2 years ago and were the inaugural WGFNL senior premiers. I hear that Wonthaggi are trying to get into the West Gippsland League next year as they feel they are not competitive enough for the Gippsland League, would ruffle a few feathers as i know AFL Gippsland & now AFL Victoria have said that they will be doing a massive review at the end of next year to re-shape the entire gippsland footy region with their 'G25 vision - what they want it to look like come 2025' (too many leagues), so would be surprised if there is any club that changes leagues this year. Though The Alberton FNL have been told the same thing for the past 3 years. Hopefully now that AFL Gippsland has been relieved of their duties, AFL Victoria will apply common sense and sort out this huge mess that has been created and left to rot.
  5. Apparently the Dogs are offering a deal 'too good to refuse'. Whether that's $$$ or unlimited trips to the barber to perm up his man-bun, who knows?
  6. I'd be more inclined to say Garry, given the 3 connection.
  7. Would be an ideal replacement for Garlett. Might not do the magical as well, but he's way more consistent. I'd be more than happy to offer up a mid 2nd rounder for him
  8. The bloke has got the mental strength of a sloth.
  9. If that is the case, and i don't have any reason to doubt it, the board should nut up and give him the flick now. I'm all for short-term gain, but not at the expense of medium-longterm success.
  10. The only teams that struggled this year for numbers were Kilcunda and Dalyston (they are the Korumbarra's and Meeniyan's of yesteryear). The top teams are still of a high quality and the good coaches are of a very high quality. You're out of your depth on this one Saty. I take Gippsland footy, South Gippsland in particular, more seriously than i do AFL nowadays.
  11. Yep, red hot favourites to take out the WGFNL premiership. Though i think it's got more to do with their coach Beau Vernon more than anything else. Goody could learn a thing or ten from him.
  12. Garlett? Maybe got the message a little late that he had been de-listed.
  13. FMD. How dare he enjoy some family time with his wife and kids.
  14. Everyone looks better in a Dees jumper
  15. I agree with you on this Oli, but seriously doubt we'd get enough for him on the trade table. Viney is a very limited footballer, compounded by his tendency to get injured. Brayshaw is in a form slump, whose best far surpasses Jack's.
  16. I think you're getting it confused with the Geelong line Chook.
  17. Was he not a former director of the club? Hopefully the relationship is still strong. Would definitely help.
  18. [censored] that. Fully funded.
  19. As in a fully funded new home base! One can only hope!!!
  20. Whitfield, yes please. The only piece of the puzzle then is to find another KPF.
  21. I think such a decision from the members would be in the form of a proxy vote. The money from its sale would no doubt go towards our new digs (if and when that is ever decided).
  22. Sure, when it looks like that. Doubt it though, as too many moves and counter moves would have to happen
