  1. Wonder what @A F thought of the game? Not like him not to get involved on the argy bargy. No activity since Saturday in fact.
  2. I just find it unlikely that one of the coaches ignored TMac's performance altogether - he was clearly the standout key forward on the day. I think I prefer ProDee's breakdown although I'd like to see it spelled out (as you have) to make sure it adds up - too lazy to do it myself though.
  3. Every single one of those games are winnable. There's not one there that makes me go "urgh, better write that one off". Odds are we'll lose a couple though. Hopefully those are through a tight, high quality arm wrestle where things don't go our way. A 14 or 15 win season would be an outstanding result.
  4. Heaps of Carlton supporters have been moaning about this too. How about just manning up, Carlton? That would have forced ANB to have the shot. It's not our fault, or the fault of the rules, that your players weren't concentrating.
  5. This. I'm not complaining or blaming her, though, I do tend to carry on like a raving lunatic. It would be unpleasant if you're not invested in the same way.
  6. Basic physics says it should work most of the time. When you're the fastest *and* heaviest player on the ground, you don't need a calculator to work out that most blokes ain't going to be able to stop you when you're flat out and they are near-stationary. He's a fella who clearly realises his strengths and is now playing accordingly. It's enjoyable to watch!
  7. This argument falls in deaf ears, Ralph. There's posters on this forum who actually believe that the root cause of us being irrelevant for so long is because the fans don't "demand better". Collectively, we highly overrate our own influence on the club, even if some of us individually facepalm at the notion. Fans, members, supporters: get as carried away as you want! Dream of a 2017 flag and share it with your fellow Demons if you want. The only thing at stake is your own emotional wellbeing; you are welcome to gamble on that if you want.
  8. This. Lewis said in his presser that Crossy told them there was a minute left. I wonder if Leigh is aware of what those people running around in hi vis, who seem to talk to the players are there for.
  9. The ironic thing about the diving thing is that Vince did one of the lamest, most blatant stages I've ever seen, in a period of the game where there was actually something to gain by doing it, and I literally have not seen or heard it mentioned anywhere. I suppose nobody actually punched him in the face, so there's no actual crime we can blame him for. That's why I can understand the view of others who would like to see the club publicly back Oliver at some stage. His poor reputation is being allowed to snowball out of control, over stupid things, It's getting ridiculous.
  10. I had to Google who she was, if that helps.
  11. Sometimes players turn out better than players taken before them in the draft. Sometimes players take longer to develop than others. It's a freakin' lottery. You're purchasing a 10% complete product. This is a seriously tedious topic. I honestly thought Melbourne supporters would be sick of beating ourselves up over who was selected where, but it would seem our self flagellation knows no bounds.
  12. They would not have put him in front of the media to answer questions if he wasn't comfortable with it. Likely it was his idea.
  13. Last year we got a "thumbs up" from Jarrad Waite when he kicked a goal after my wife yelled out something rather unbecoming (and unexpected since she's not normally in to footy at all) at Bellerive. Players interact with hecklers in the crowd all the time, and absolutely nothing gets said - sometimes it's all part of the fun.
  14. Just another comment from just another peanut who doesn't know what happened, Dazz. Doesn't matter if he shares a surname or parents with a player on our list, he's as clueless as the rest. Don't stress.
  15. Another victim of "did one really awful thing syndrome" I think (turnover when we were in control of the ball going forward).
  16. Will reserve judgement until I know what was said. Amazing how many people are prepared to pass judgement when, as Goodwin said, the facts aren't on the table yet.
  17. Alternate the two. McDonald's strength other than marking and the recently discovered goal kicking is his tank. That said, that can probably be utilised in the ruck.
  18. I'll pay that if you can demonstrate that it was your view before this hot streak ?
  19. Apparently Kent lead the team for distance sprinted and repeat sprints according to the "Telstra tracker". I don't think effort is the issue with Kent, I just think it's an issue of quality and I'm doubtful Kennedy is that much of an improvement. I think if there's no returning AFL grade player (ie Watts), we might as well persevere with Kent rather than swapping one NQR for another.
  20. What's the point in dropping Kent for Kennedy? They might as well be the same player. No interest in Watts?
  21. It took the heat off ANB as well. If he'd had the shot and missed it could well have cost us the game. I was crapping myself watching ANB line up. Everyone I was watching with just started laughing when he passed off to Lewis. The relief of the pressure dissipating was palpable. Where were the Carlton defenders? In their shoes I'd be filthy that they didn't force ANB to take the shot.
  22. Yep - entry in to the top 4 would have been nice, but ultimately I think it's good that the teams below us keep losing and we open the gap. We can claw back the games we are behind the teams above, especially considering we play 3 of the 4 of them. Just gotta keep winning!
  23. 6. McDonald T 5. Oliver 4. Jetta 3. Neal-Bullen 2. Petracca 1. Lewis
