  1. Kirstie Alley has a history of losing weight and stacking it all back on I believe.
  2. Interesting, I'd always wondered whether your nickname may've been Scoop based on SJ's alias. I reckon having Scoop and Scoop Junior on Demonland would've been a nice touch, personally.
  3. Would that make you "Scoop"?
  4. Opposite end of the scale to me then! My first was born when I was 22. At the age you started (~48?), my "kids" will be 26, 24, 22 and 20 :-) Life will just be beginning!
  5. Hi everyone, I'm sorry to say that I recently discovered the passing of "two sheds jackson" during this year and wanted to belatedly share the news with those concerned on Demonland. The admin on Demonland would like to extend our condolences to his family. - Andrew N
  6. Hehe. That's not *quite* what I meant
  7. I'm afraid only three of them are Dees by brainwash. Only one of my mum's children are Dees (I'll let you guess which one :D) - unsure how it happened, but there are Collingwood and Richmond fans all around me. I guess in even the most degenerate of families you get the odd genius anomaly
  8. How many grand children have you guys got? My mother is of your generation, she's got 10 so far with more to come (from four children of her own).
  9. How good is it!! Wait, am I a bit late?
  10. How come "T$ B$" is acceptable but my genius spoonerism of "Scum Tolly" wasn't? Boo.
  11. There's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza...
  12. I heard (third hand) of a club official describing trade week as "that week where we try to offload all our players that are no good, and every other club tries to do the same". Pretty much sums it up, really.
  13. I've been an administrator of this site for almost six years, and the first time I ever actually told anyone about it (most who know me well figured it out) was about six months ago. I felt like such a retarded dweeb. Will never do again.
  14. How long do I need to remain on "haven't posted in the Scully thread" wagon before I'm allowed to post in here? Or are obvious fence jumpers like rpfc and e25 welcomed with open arms?
  15. My three year old son just scared the living sheet out of me by secretly lurking in the (very dark) bathroom playing with the glow stick he got at a birthday party today. Jesus effing Christ. I'm not certain which of us was more surprised when he came wandering out as I wandered in, but I'm pretty sure it was me.
  16. How do you guys find time to watch so much sport? It seems to be the same people participating in all the "other sports" threads. I barely get time to watch one game of AFL footy a week. If I could squeeze in a couple of others I reckon Baseball would be a fair way down my list.
  17. Uh-oh, inconsistency!
  18. My Football Club Effing Sucks - DA called it MFCMCS, but it's not specific to the MFC, all clubs have these types of supporters. These are the people that believe that everything and anything is wrong with the club and if there's nothing real to criticise, they just make stuff up. This one applies to all the people who were having a moan about our 90 point win against GC.
  19. rpfc invented it I thought but you've got the definition right DA. It's also the "it's been bad for the last 40 years therefore it's going to be bad forever" mentality. Being convinced Tom Scully will leave when there's no evidence whatsoever to suggest he will is a function of MFCSS. Being upset over the side's dreadful performance on Thursday is a function of being a normal footy supporter and has nothing to do with MFCSS.
  20. Ross Taylor's innings not worthy of comment from anyone?
  21. Indeed - this was a good performance but you'd have to think that that was close to their absolute best, and there's no way you could say that for the Poms. I'm a fan of Ryan ten Doeschate (Tassie's own ) but he's not going to score a century every time and will need more support than a few cameos. That said, I hope they are able to keep it up - seeing the "Associate" teams put in some good performances is part of the appeal of the world cup for me.
  22. Absolutely - what a lucky break (no pun intended) for him. Would've been some distance from the selectors minds at the start of the ODI series. Big endorsement for Ferguson, especially given the level of absolute class in Marsh's century in the ODI series. What probably hurt was the fact that Marsh did nothing at all when batting higher in the order where Ferguson looked solid, which is where he'd have been required for the WC. Looking forward to see how Australia go - don't think there's a hope in the world of us winning, but I'm expecting a competitive performance.
  23. Deleted all the non-cricket related posts on the last page. Sick of seeing new posts in this thread only to be disappointed that they've got nothing to do with cricket. Pretty disappointing effort for a bunch of smart blokes who know their cricket.
  24. It would be pretty funny. It's got to be Watto though doesn't it? He's our best ODI player by far IMO. Edit: Seems that it is Watto.
  25. Anyone want to speculate the reasoning behind the Johnson promotion to four? I'm not that interested in the obvious - clearly it was because Clarke wanted a player who could continue the run rate as set by Watson. Clarke had White, Hussey, Smith and even himself who could play that role, so why Mitch? Trying to put myself in Clarke's head and work out why, perhaps it was because he knew that with such a large total there was a every chance Johnson would need to bat sooner or later and believed he was more likely to respond when just playing a role of building on a good start, rather than being responsible for the run chase later on in the innings? I don't know - that seems plausible, but seems a bit wishy-washy to justify such a risky move. Thoughts?
