Hmmm. We have a small problem. They don't run drafts during our evening hours. We can choose between 11am through to the following 1am American time. In other words... So we can choose anywhere between 1am Melbourne time, through to 3pm Melbourne time. I'll set it for 3pm Melbourne time, on Thursday afternoon for now. If anyone has any objections, or wants a different time, let me know.

Sweet JV7. Ok I'll send round emails, and tentatively schedule the draft for tomorrow evening 8pmish? Will also keep checking the thread to make sure if anyone else is into it. We have 5+ now, so that makes it majority us in the draft... Which also means likely the playoffs will be all us.

OK. Plus another demons supporter not currently posting on demonland.... that's 4/10 so far. If we get 5+ I'll start PMing.

The drafting program makes it easy. As long as you don't go guys like Nelson, Benjamin etc.... you can't miss. Where it's fun is your last 4 picks. Those are usually speculative and interesting.

More like Ultimate footy. It's draft based. So usually 10 teams, you get 90 seconds to draft, and it reverses order every round. So if you have pick 3 in round 1 and take Eddie Lacy, you will get pick 18 in round 2 and take Megatron. You can set it in subtly different ways, but usually each team consists of a QB, 2 X WR, 2 X RB, 1 X TE, 1 X Kicker and 1 X Defensive team (you get points for sacks, interceptions, and lose points for points allowed and yards allowed)... So for example I'm in a league I joined last year, and I got Lynch with pick 9, Gronk with pick 12, Evans with pick 28, Cooks with pick 32... so on and so forth. If you're a bit confused by drafting, when you sign in on your account you can run any amount of mock drafts you like. They don't take long (timer is set quicker) and you learn a lot. I promise it's addictive and makes MFL that much more immersive and interesting.

Greetings Gorgoroth. Hope you're enjoying Nicky Franchise... Just quickly gents, if you could specify what you're up for.... Fantasy NFL (draft based) and also Macca's all-famous tipping comp. Thanks.

Sweet. Lovely leaderboard work there Macca. And yeah, if we start a league with any less than ten they just fill out the others with randoms, so it's very doable. So far it's you and me Macca, if anyone else wants in message on here and I'll PM you. We've left it til late to by Wednesday night I would say we'd have to have a few names and can draft that evening. Drafts only take 20-30 minutes on yahoo and are perfectly simple, and easy to auto if you're not available.

I'd like to canvas opinions here.... Would it be worth starting a quick NFL fantasy comp? I'm currently in 6 on NFL.com, and one on Yahoo.com... I have a lot of experience in them, knowing the good rules to have and ones to get rid of... If we get enough interest here, say ten guys/girls... (guys... let's be honest) we could start one?

Alllllllright NFL fans. Your inspirational leader, thread starter and current NFL footy tipping champion has returned... You may now pay your respects. Are we tipping again this year?

I LOVE the new PAT rule. Mostly cos we have a good kicker probably. But I've always hated extra points. I think they might cancel it again when they realise it makes kickers suddenly one of the most important commodities in the NFL. Welcome back ladies and gents of the most popular alternative sport thread in demonland.

Oh and just one more time I'll ask, for next year, if people on here want to do a fantasy comp I'm definitely up for managing it. I did it for the first time, and it's easy as.... The knowledge exhibited on here shows everyone's very much ready to be able to draft and trade well. If enough guys are into it, I'll revisit it next year.

NFL
Yeah absolutely CFH... Big thanks Macca. Lots of fun.

YEEEAH!!!! Thanks very much gentlemen. In my prodigal-son like return to the thread I started, I take it out... Nice to win at least ONE fantasy footy comp this year.

I'd be interested to see who in this forum would feel worse. Supporters of teams who were kept out all year and will pick early in the draft, or supporters of teams that should be in the playoffs?

NFL
Eagles unbelievably bad the last 3 weeks. Turnovers everywhere, don't even look like they're trying. Sanchez and CBs the reason they're out.

Oh, and my picks for this week. Lions, Patriots, Packers.

I dunno if they WILL make the playoffs, but they certainly deserve to, the Eagles. We all know the situation with playoffs and qualifying etc... I'm still comfortable with it even though my team is sitting outside the 6. I definitely think they need to reseed after teams have qualified, that has to happen soon surely. Saints should definitely be made to play away. In my mind it should be set up in such a way that your results against other playoff teams in your conference during the season decides where you stand in seeding. ie, Let's say the Eagles finish the season 12-4, and the 49ers finish 10-6, but the Eagles lost to the 49ers in their matchup during the season. The 49ers would get a higher seeding, and it would add weight to individual games. Also it would weaken the position of teams who won a lot against sub-standard squads. I'm sure it's been mentioned in NFL circles, but why couldn't your playoff-team-record be given more importance? If you went on that system it would be as it stands now: Arizona, Detroit, Dallas and Seattle all have 2-1 records against fellow NFC playoff teams. New Orleans (1-2) and Green Bay (2-1) would then be wildcards. As for the Eagles, there's no doubt in my mind they're a better team than Dallas. They have a comparable offense, with Dallas having 3 big stars, and Eagles running better plays quicker. Then the Eagles D is better, IMO, than Dallas. In their two games the Eagles outscored Dallas 60-48 which suggests to me they're ahead by a bit. And going by what I've seen, I think they have the better overall team. It would be a shame to see the Eagles out, and that's not bias. I think they've earned it. Having said that, so has Dallas. They've had a tremendous year, and should be in the final dance. Would be a perfect finish if the two teams could meet in a wild card game, after splitting their games so far in the regular season.

Same with Eagles. Lose games to Cowboys and Seattle, (one of which they beat the week before) and they're basically out of the hunt in a lot of peoples' eyes.

I'd still take him at Eagles. lol

Good to see a (sort of) smile on your face Gorgoroth. Well overdue for the joy, the Rams.
