now this one i agree with from memory it effectively became a swap of thommo for moloney? the latter was good; the former was very good

two first round picks is what a 21 year old tall defender who has made an all oztrayan squad should be worth and that we got some 'change' out of it - and with jt picking the eyes out of the draft in selecting petty - was a bonus similarly, by this logic, we made flagmantle 'pay up' for dog jackson; never had a team given as much for a player as they did to get him in getting rid of grundy - who didn't want to be there and was contracted to us for ~650k for the next handful of years - for a pick 46 last year and sydney's future second-round pick (which is actually more than it cost us to get him in i think? pick 27 or so?) was good business

they also got him 'for free' whereas we had to trade to acquire may

Rising Star Nomination for The Duke?
every team they're all going to offer him a small fortune kid is good

NON-MFC: Round 03

NON-MFC: Round 03
yeah, and the dog wasn't happy with my reaction to the non-free for koz either
-
NON-MFC: Round 03
if our players didn't get free kicks when they're clearly clobbered high like ginnivan is i would be ropeable i know there's this perception that he 'ducks' into the tackle...but he's knee high to a grasshopper and constantly gets taken high through no real fault of his own

NON-MFC: Round 03
tigs dropping lilke flies - balta out for 4-6 with an mcl and lynch needs surgery on a hamstring tendon injury
-
NON-MFC: Round 03
frost's ability to run himself out of position is quite something he's a very good reader of the play but once he gets the ball in hand he's so unpredictable

Harrison Petty
worth remembering that the crom will be looking to trade out of the pointy end of the 2024 draft as their father-son selection - tyler, son of scott, welsh - is likely considered a top selection

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Port Adelaide
i've always found it strange that they adopted that inxs song - i know it was about the split forced on them between afl and sanfl versions of 'port adelaide', but it's played out now with the teams being together for a long time now once the port maggies leave the sanfl for the vfl / national reserves competition in the coming years, it really won't be applicable at all anymore

NON-MFC: Round 03
lynch a hamstring

The ANB Appreciation Thread
how humble is he? in career best form
-
2024 Injury List
if he can do what he did in the last 45 mins of a game like that with one hand, imagine how good he'll be when he has two working mitts?

NON-MFC: Round 03
what happened to lynch?
-
NON-MFC: Round 03
if you look at their history, this is what they do - compete and be there or thereabouts, win a premiership, hang around competing, bottom out... rinse / repeat they've only been out of finals for three seasons, and presumably 2024 will be their fourth missing out in a row
-
NON-MFC: Round 03
when you really don't want to be poor in 2027-2031 they - and the eventual 20th team - will pick the eyes out of the draft
-
NON-MFC: Round 03
other than reid, if there's a meth coke player i'd target to come to a third club and finish his career playing in a finals side it's elliot yeo over tim kelly

Rising Star Nomination for The Duke?
i'm very curious as to whether he stays as a wingman his entire career or eventually shift to being able to rotate into an on-ball role his ability to break away from the contest is a weapon

NON-MFC: Round 03
go get him, tim lamb
