Angus Brayshaw Forced into Retirement
Sir Why You Little replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Certainly worth thinking about. The Test Case…. -
Of Course. His role is not suited to everyone. He thrives on it, except when Port Adelaide are involved. His persona then changes drastically!!
-
He is probably the token Thorn, who helps SEN and Social Media to have daily content. Wilson is probably the only other Journalist who is able to put the boots into the AFL whenever she wishes. It is a totally different scenario in the media, from when i was involved in the 80’s and 90’s. The AFL love to have content 24/7 whether it is positive or negative, it really doesn’t matter. Clickbait generates revenue and the crowds still rock in.

There will be a lot more 3 year deals from now on…. -
It keeps a lot of people in a job, right now, the way it is They won’t rock the boat
-
An Umpire representative maybe interviewed 3-4 days later, but the heat has gone out of it by then. They should be in front of Cameras an hour after the game. Pay them well and make them fully accountable
-
Of Course. There is a reason the AFL won’t put the Umps under the spotlight, it would put so many results in Jeopardy. As others have said. The Stand rule is a pathetic joke. Nominating a Ruckman is a joke. That is up to the players, not the Ump. If 3 players jump, then the Ump makes the call. But if you had the Umpires required to front the Media after games, the standard would increase immediately
-
The only way we will see any change under the Current System is if Umpires are made available to front the Media after each game, similar to Coaches..

PREGAME: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

Jackson and Brayshaw out make a huge difference to the Side -
Like Clockwork….
-
Interesting analysis the first thing that comes to mind is that our pressure all over the ground dropped right off after 6 Rounds and it hasn’t been regained since.
-
Agreed. We have to keep challenging, that is the aim. That probably defines Culture in Sports the best way. Right now The MFC is at that Crossroad. This Year worries me, because of the way we are losing games, the Fight has dissipated and we haven’t managed to Trade in anything like the talent, that has left
-
Culture in Sport, is all about Winning and sustaining Success. It’s not the same as a Nations Culture, which evolves over Centuries. If a Club has a history of Losing, then it will never attract the best players unless they are paid “overs” Sponsorships and Membership are always lower. The Demons since 1964 have massively underachieved for myriad of Reasons, and then in ‘21 they break the mould, Culture from there, is whether we can stay around the mark, like many teams do. At the moment it is looking very shaky
-
In the AFL World Culture is about Wins and Losses I have a great love for the Club, i just expect a Higher Standard than what we have been given.
-
it’s a ridiculous concept to believe that Garry Lyon has disdain for the MFC. He as a Former Long Serving Captain has the right to opinions on issues concerning the Clubs Fortunes, like Schwarta who lets go every now and then. They have put their bodies on the line for the jumper…
-
What have i said that you ACTUALLY disagree with? You may not like it, but i don’t lie when i post. Did you agree with Pert, when he told Garry on air “That the MFC Culture was the best he had ever seen in 40 years?”
-
It depends how long you allow a timeline to be. I am not disputing what you have said here. I question whether we are working through the problems in a cohesive way. They have been around for quite a while.
-
Exactly. He was silenced very efficiently…

How typically Melbourne Brodie Grundy

We tried it for about 45 minutes….and gave up -
and you don’t get it…
-
I repeat. He is not a Journalist. He is writing as a Past Player and Coach. Big Difference
-
If North rip us apart next week it will be the start of big change, imo. Might take a couple of years to implement There are kids waiting to play at Casey….

Not to Sydney it wasn’t. We should have traded him to a lowly Club if he was unhappy. There must be some responsibility in a signature when signing a 4 year contract -
What part has Malthouse “made up” Malthouse is not writing this piece as a Journalist. He is a Past Premiership Player and Premiership Coach. Yes he sounds like Oscar the Grouch, but that doesn’t mean he is ignorant to what is going down. He has been in the Positions and prospered. does that mean he knows 100% what’s going on? No it doesn’t. But he would have a fair idea. Pert was his CEO for a number of Seasons
-
Pert took a big Gamble talking to Garry, a Past Captain. I know why he did it, but it has backfired, potentially very badly. Pert was hoping to sort it all out internally, but the Footy Department has not been able to perform to the level. You must also remember that not all of the readers of Malthouse article know what is going on at MFC It’s a Western Australian readership. Garry was potted by many for not believing. He was concerned like many of us
