  1. Hannibal, you should be able to just full edit and create Poll with what you've already posted. Then again, something might not be working for you.
  2. If you aren't a Melbourne supporter who dreams of their team winning the flag and holding the Cup aloft the victroy dias........you're not a 'true believer'. How they get to that point is totally relevant. As Hannibal states, "It's so pure and simple that even the 'see game win game' brigade should understand." Agree with Hannibal. And if people are fair dinkum, they too would realise that the competition contains clubs that compete to firstly reach finals and secondly, ultimately a Premiership. "Because some clubs haven't always made decisions with this in mind they've inhibited their chances of success - How true.
  3. No one could imagine that, nor the consequences in the aftermath. Hopefully it doesn't occur. You would think with Richmond and North both on 4.5 wins (out of contention for priority pick) now - Rawlings and Crocker would have them playing to win and finish the year in good form with some wins. They both will be tough to beat no matter what side Melbourne fields.
  4. It is a fantastic achievement. Although right now he's putting himself in a bad light with his lack of effort on the field and almost refusal to assist and come to the aid of his teammates at Casey. He should work hard and runout what little he has left of his football career, so he can hold his head high. Quickfire way to find yourself banned champ. If Robbo can learn to do the 1%'s quickly he won't be discredited. For his sake I hope he does this and returns before seasons end. It would be awful to think he would continue the way he has of late until the end. He needs to step up to the plate - for his sake.
  5. Sure is the interesting bit. Those 4 names mentioned. Would be delighted with two of them, Scully of course being a must.
  6. It's no use, TB doesn't reply to posts, she just has her say. Most likely doesn't read all posts nor comprehends what the club is about and what their intention may or may not be. Most likely cannot see what is required in order to manage things in order to obtain quality players and what is required for a Premiership!!!!
  7. The idea behind the analysis is basically identifying past priority picks and their worth. It's a free pick ahead of the first round selection (effectively second pick). But your analysis adds weight to the argument, that if a side such as Melbourne this year, finds itself (by analysing their list honestly) lacking in quality/stars and the opportunity presents itself to secure the priority pick (2 years in the making), it should be given heavy consideration in managing their list to take that opportunity, in order to find the quickest path to being a very competitive and competent team.
  8. You've probably hit the nail on the head as to why it was so disappointing. After weeks of honourable losses it was a huge reality check on the biggest stage of all for the Melbournefc. You've basically answered your own question.
  9. It's tipped as being Fremantle, however I would hope for all our sake that it would be round 22 against the Saints so we can feel relief before a game and play to win knowing we have secured two early picks.
  10. Apt username.
  11. He is in year 12. Plenty of time for developing. He has pace and probably does not need to be too top heavy. Does Dustin Fletcher have good physique and muscle tone?
  12. No thankyou.
  13. Interesting that Malthouse recently compared Cameron Wood to Peter Moore. I agree with the picks. Scully and the next best available player.
  14. Yes. Queen's Birthday. Copped a schlacking.
  15. Great updates GG. 18 days out, where do you see the Big 4's EPL title hopes? Will it be Chelsea and Man U that fight it out again, or will Arsenal and Liverpool pull their fingers out and improve? Or will Villa or some other crack the Big 4 this season? Is there room for so many ego's on the field at Chelsea?

  17. Priority Picks given to AFL clubs. Not all AFL clubs have received them. Below is a "ladder" of those that have received them (before Round 1), headed by Hawthorn & Carlton who have each received 3 Priority Picks. What value is in a Priority Pick you ask? Well, the clubs that have received them have benefited greatly. Not necessarily in terms of winning Premierships, but they contribute to their respective sides and arguably are invaluable for their respective sides competitive edge. PRIORITY PICK LADDER (prior to Round 1) Hawthorn...................3 Carlton......................3 Western Bulldogs........2 StKilda.......................2 Collingwood................2 Melbourne..................2 Richmond...................1 West Coast.................1 Fremantle...................1 The Priority Pick has in recent seasons caused much grief for clubs supporters and is very much a debatable topic among AFL supporters in general. The AFL introduced this pick as a way of helping some of the poorer performed clubs and helping them fast track their turn around on field. Effectively, creating an even competition. Which is why it was created by the AFL. Let's have a look at the 17 Priority Picks that have been decided (in regard to picks 1, 2 or 3): - PICK...........PLAYER........................DRAFT........CLUB 1................Matthew Kruezer............2007..........Carlton 3................Xavier Ellis....................2005...........Hawthorn 2................Dale Thomas.................2005...........Collingwood 1................Marc Murphy..................2005...........Carlton 3................Ryan Griffen..................2004............Bulldogs 1................Brett Deledio.................2004............Richmond 2................Jarryd Roughead............2004............Hawthorn 1................Adam Cooney................2003............Bulldogs 3................Colin Sylvia...................2003............Melbourne 2................Andrew Walker..............2003............Carlton 3................Chris Judd.....................2001............West Coast 2................Luke Ball.......................2001............StKilda 1................Luke Hodge....................2001............Hawthorn 1................Nick Riewoldt..................2000............StKilda 2................Paul Hasleby...................1999...........Fremantle 1................Josh Fraser.....................1999............Collingwood 1................Travis Johnstone..............1997...........Melbourne *Both Melbourne and West Coast received priority picks in last years 2008 NAB draft, however these were given prior to the start of the second round of drafting. It goes without saying that the Priority Pick does in effect help teams recover by essentially awarding teams a "free pick" on top of their first round draft pick. The above list of players are a very important part to their sides make-up and arguably indirectly or directly can influence games and their sides positioning on the ladder. At the moment 4 of the above list are Premiership players. There are also several vying for a Premiership Medallion this season as it stands. * source - Inside Football.
  18. And Watts.
  19. I couldn't vote. Truth is I watched with an eerie feeling. I wasn't barracking for Sydney. Now way I could support any other team, especially against my team Melbourne. I just didn't want us to win, simple. What I was supporting was a really good effort by the Dees. I was disappointed in the kicking at goal, although I wasn't at all peeved when the likes of Miller missed set shots. I should have been though. That is why the system - whatever it is - for Priority picks needs to be seriously reviewed. It is a blight on the game of Aussie Rules. It's not good. TBH I was p***ed off after the game, not because we lost, but what we have to go through, and the way I feel, well.......'torn' by it all. edit: - P.S. What I want to feel when watching footy is the pure elation of a well earned win with excitement and the knowledge that the FD won't have to take Jurrah off the ground if things get close. Also the relief of not wanting to finish last or second last!
  20. Ok, thanks Titan. Just out of interest, the random selection - what's the process involved? Posters go into a lottery draw or something, and the first three out count?
  21. Speculation at this stage. With 5 rounds there are lots of options. West Coast still to play Essendon, Nth Melb and Richmond at Subi. We also have St.Kilda last round if you're thinking percentage.
  22. Thanks for that. Trengove: - "I would like to stay in South Australia but, in saying that, I would not mind the challenge of playing with an interstate club," he said
  23. How does that work? I calculate from the votes submitted this round: - Moloney - 33 votes Davey - 25 votes How does Davey increase his lead over Moloney?
  24. Think Michael Jordan.
  25. Yes he can. He's a she.
