No White for MFC Clash Jumpers for Season 2018
daisycutter replied to Rodney (Balls) Grinter's topic in Melbourne Demons
[crow] they said it couldn't be done. they said it was a waste of time. that the afl would never let us not wear white. the said you can't fight city hall. they called us wankers. we said we'd never give up. apologies will be gratefully accepted. you know who you are. [/crow] -

i remember when a radio was a wireless
-
found this in wiki seems too my issue with tuners fixed on 9/10 frequency boundaries only applies to modern electronic based tuners
-
just curious now. currently am stations in oz are tuned on multiples of 9 ?hz and in fact radios are generally fixed in only being able to lockin on 9 ?hz boundaries as i understand it some countries use multiples of 10 ?hz (eg usa, japan) whereas most 'british' countries use 9 I once bought a portable radio in japan and it was useless here. only a small number of radios have an option to select 9 or 10 So, what's the history wyl. was oz on the 10 system and switched to 9. did people have to buy new radios or did people just tune in on 1422 and the signal of 1420 was strong enough to not make a difference ?

it's not a black and white issue, ldvc. it's just a trend personally i hope footy smarts trumps athleticism in the longer term, but many recruiters place big emphasis on athletic type stats and then developing them to become role type players, rather than looking for talented footballers with creativity and great instincts, then developing their athleticism. lot of coaches don't like creativity and instinctual play, it's all about strict structures and game plan. of course though, you can't beat someone with footy smarts + great athleticism in the same package -

interesting. hope you are right also interesting that our best 2 endurance players are a tall and a short(ish) anyway, i agree less rotations should bring back more emphasis on skills (and more one on one) with a bit more space. i'm not too sure the afl will be reducing rotations much in the short term though -

it's certainly true that average height has increased over time, but I would think that average football height has increased moreso it's also true now that with professionalism the game has changed such that athleticism (vs raw footy talent) is being increasingly desired/sought/required. -

i don't consider 178 (5'10") and 179 (5'10 1/2") as being short (other than in relative football terms) -

no one is claiming that there are no short footballers playing afl. there are, but their numbers are declining as are the available positions they can play. the odds against them are just increasing the romantic notion of anyone of any size or shape has a reasonable opportunity to play football at the top level belongs in the past. it certainly used to be true and was one of the more endearing aspects of aussie rules. -
they'll probably bring in shane "the human foghorn" mccinnes

viney at 5'10" could have been a kpp in a 60's premiership side jetta at 5'11" would have been a tall in previous eras anyways these guys are a looong way off being 165cm are you saying viney and jetta are "short" guys (off the football ground)?
