Whilst beating an injury hit and out of form bulldogs in a single quarter was nice, I simply cannot see us beating Geelong down there for too many reasons.

For one, we still make far too many mistakes as a side and Geelong are a team who will punish turnovers from our defensive 50. Frost is my case in point. He is playing, so we're already in trouble in that regard.

Aside from the third quarter of last week, we were again extremely inefficient when going inside 50. Whether it's Hogan leading to the wrong spots far too often or our mids and half forwards kicking to the wrong spots and refusing to lower their eyes again, it happened all game aside from the third.

Defensively, last week was an improvement. But it's the first game all year whereby opposition weren't scoring at will when the ball was going inside their forward 50. That body of work doesn't bode well for this game.

We'll need all those three things to go right as well as having some outstanding indivial efforts for us to get up. We are yet to beat a strong AFL side this year who haven't been hit by injury.

In short, I think we still have too many major deficiencies as a side that always seem to be magnified whenever we play top sides.

Geelong are nowhere near a top side

  2. Buggs a delist for mine, don’t see the point in him. If Hannan back to the 2’s do we play Tyson?

As for Jones I feel the end is nigh but only because our inside mids are the leagues best. He may need to try half forward.

Now to beat the Cats and end their year, that would be so sweet

Hallelujah!! That's the attitude; an actual supporter! Good on you Roost, he will be a champion as long as we the people of Melbourne support him.

No he’ll become a Champion because he has all the attributes of one. We have nothing to do with it

During simulations, they rarely use both goals. Usually will set from the backline and if a turnover happens they kick to a coach or a temporary small goal set is used.

Which ever way you spin it we need goals at both ends. By the sounds of it that’s what we’ll be having

I think that you are overlooking the fact that there are two aspects to this proposal. Firstly we develop a HQ building with our admin, gym, “DemonShop”, phsios, etc (plus a licensed club facility for Demon members to meet adjacent the MCG)! Secondly we have a training area of a similar size to the “G”, located immediately next door and overlooked by the former. The ground would service most training exercises (or modifications of same) that I have observed at Gosch’s Paddock and (should we want to do full match simulation) Gosch’s Paddock is only a warm-up jog away. We also have Casey at our disposal. Nothing is going to be perfect (except if we get 52 week access to the MCG) however, as Bartlett stresses, this was the option identified as having more positives than other scenarios considered!

It’s still second best and leaves us behind. Why not just stay at Goschs?

  6. The club is incredibly lucky to have Lewis and I hope they run him through some coaching courses and keep him around when he finishes playing. Mostly his match day performances have him in our best 22. Is it time to start replacing him, ideally yes but with who and for what purpose? Do we have an obvious replacement? For mine he stays in but I'll let the club decide this one

Just thought l let you know  he has played some good games although at times he makes mistakes plays on the edge and is big bodied and stands at 195 cm.Can break the lines. Unlike Joel Smith or Petty wet behind the ears and no disrespect to Petty, they never took the game on and that is even a bigger mistake. You might not like Frosty's potential however he is our best bet for mine. I am sure there are others that agree and like to see him given a chance.

I’d be happy to see him given a chance but to say he must play the rest of the season doesn’t work for me. He’s had chances in the past, his Casey form is one thing. His disposal is questionable and I’m not convinced by his decision making

    Agree 100% with Roos

Frost was brought in to play on big agile forwards and WOULD have proved vital v Cox v Dixon v Membrey.  Too late now.  Frost must be played for next 8 games. If his not up to it, then wave goodbye. I think he has the goods.

Garlett needs to play AFL. He is not interested in VFL. Again play him or delist him at year end. He has averaged 10 disposals, 3 tackles, and 2 goals a game for the past 4 years. That is what small forwards do. And he provides the pace and crumbing we need.

Just thought I'd point out that Frost has never done much of anything at AFL level but somehow you believe he's going to fix our problems.......

    Genuine question: why?

How is he impacting games at the moment?

When was the last time he played well in a game we lost or didn't win by a massive margin?

I don’t rate him  either but he won’t get dropped
