  1. So let's sack the players instead! As I said "The current list has had 10 years of his input." Your blind faith in a coach who will leave the club soon is admirable, but the plain fact is that his best year was 8 years ago in 2000 and second best year was 10 years ago in his first year at the club. But sure, keep giving him an extra year and by the year 2017, things may have turned around for us. Problem is we'll probably be playing in Auckland.
  2. Of course we can. It's his football department. He's responsible for the staffing. He's responsible for our pre-season. The current list has had 10 years of his input. It's his game plan. It's his strategies. It's his management. If not, then what the hell is he doing as the coach? OK, injuries don't help, but either does coming out and getting belted by over 10 goals by the yardstick team in the competition. These are the games that tell where we are really at. And that's second bottom on the ladder. Just.
  3. There is absolutely no benefit for our club to sign him for just 1 year. What we need is a long term vision, not a short term one. What criteria can you point to as proof that Daniher "has continued to successfully motivate his troops"? Hello Byron! He has had 10 years to finish what he has started. The facts are our best year under him was 8 years ago in 2000, and second best year was in his first year in '98. Remember the immediate turn around in form Daniher was able to achieve in his first year after Balme's disasterous last year? The MFC can take advantage of securing a high profile coach who could deliver greater media exposure that would benefit both our membership and sponsorship base. This in concert with our new facilities at Olympic Park could lay a foundation to secure our future within a very competitive environment. We would be better served to offer someone like Sheedy a 3 year contract, rather than the present incumbent just 1 year. If Sheedy is able to deliver improvement and deveopment of players within this period, then extend his contract. If not, we have 3 years to formulate a strategy to persue a candidate who could then take over a club that has layed a stronger foundation to build a platform on for the future.
  4. You are most likely correct, which, with injuries, explains why we are 0-6.
  5. He would still be sore after some of the hits he took. Got crunched right in front of me in the last quarter and took a while to get off his haunches and stand up. Yep, he sure busted a gut on Sunday.
  6. Spending plenty and giving away a lot for one "champion" doesn't guarantee anything. Jim Tillbrook in the 70's, Peter Moore & Kelvin Templeton in the early 80's, all failed to deliver any success (apart from Moore's brownlow).
  7. You're not Robinson Crusoe. A lot of us have been there too.
  8. It's not our best team of the last 30 years, it's just one person's opinion.
  9. I think Carlton has more to worry about with the board overruling Pagen's decision on having Zantuck at the club.
