  1. Good post. Yes there are hundreds of 194cm players who can run quickly and play anywhere from BP down to FP. Given time he will fill out more and may be a key position player who with his speed and mobility can cause headaches for the opposition. On the other hand he could be a tall quick HFF who is also hard to man up on. Too many are too quick to write him off. He made some clangers yesterday but coming on in a pressure situation late in a game can lead to that. Cut him some slack people, these guys aren't machines.
  2. There certainly were about 3 occasions where he could have given it off instead of blazing away. The one where Petterd was moving towards goal at the Punt Road end away from Green and his 2 opponents was a gimme, but Green ignored him. The Captain is playing better but was selfish on a few occasions.
  3. Thanks Fan. You can see I am still computer illiterate. Also look forward to catching up. Good win today especially being against a team on the up like us and making it 2 in a row.
  4. There is a great article in the Saturday Herald Sun. If someone knows how to link it makes great reading. Might give some comfort to some as well.
  5. On SEN said Ling is injured and it could be worse than first thought as shoulder wrenched backwards, which is unusual. Ling did not have the ball and had one arm pinned and could not protect himself, sound familiar. Guarantee Cloke is not cited.
  6. No injury and looks worse from the front than it does when you see it side on. The side on view shows him going over the top of Pratt and missing his head. Not a great look but not as bad as it seemed. Oh that's right it's the MRP, gone for the rest of the season. PS. What will Pratt get for the strike to Newton's jaw and neck after he had taken the mark. Answer; A gift voucher for the AFL shop.
  7. As we now live in a Communist state we are no longer able to enjoy freedom of speech if you are an AFL footballer. For Petterd and Frawley to be fined, even if suspended fines, for their comments is an absolute disgrace. Neither mentioned the AFL in their Tweets or any official of the AFL, how is it then that they can be fined. Frawley said JT was not playing for the Melbourne Demons but rather Melbourne Vixens. That is a comment on the way the game is played today not anone in the AFL. Is that any different to a player saying footy today is much easier than in the past becuase it is much softer as there are no king hits. Steven baker of the Saints was one of many AFL players who supported JT and he Tweeted that he would now play Netball as it was harder than Footy. What is the difference between his Tweet and Frawley's. Petterd said one word Bullsh-t. How does Anderson know what that was said in realation to. He could have been anwering a Tweet where his mate said KC was better than a Big Mac. Was he interviewed? I don't believe so. RIP freedom of speech if you are an AFL player or club official. PS. If Anderson had one single brain cell he might have thought, given the week the club had experienced that he would warn it and all players to be careful in the future of any comments made and left it at that.
  8. There is an Interview with JT on AFL site and they show plenty of sling tackles from this weekend. JT said he wanted consistentcy but was resigned to not seeing it. I will be staggered if they put one up, yet it is hard to see any difference, other than the alleged "severe concussion" as stated in the Crows Medical Report, which was later recanted and then you guessed it, best on ground and 6 goals.
  9. So true but will not show in the stats.
  10. True to a point. Yes we all wanted the draft picks but to be honest we weren't good enough to win. Early in the year we were clearly trying to win as many games as possible but we weren't good enough to. Later in the year with some creative team selection we negated the slim chance we might have had in some games. But there must be a time where you start examinig the succees/failure of the coach/team. If we all agreed that last year we were trying every week and that this year is the same then we should look at the stats for that period and the remaining games this year. Surely they will have some relevance to whether he is reappointed. I know it is not the only factor to be considered but it will come into the equation along with gameplan, player development, fitness, attitude etc.
  11. Also agree. Pick the one who had an impact yesterday, Green, Aussie, Dunn and Martin. I will give a tip, the first three were hopeless.
  12. Agree. Throw in these names, Rivers, Grimes, Trengove, Scully, McKenzie and an injured Garland, Bail and Martin with loss of power and rotation and it is not unexpected.
  13. Buckley is going ok for the premiers.
  14. I thought his two best were the hand ball to a North player, when there were 3 Dees close by and the best by a mile was after a mark he kicked to Maric, who had Goldstein, Pratt and another Roo next to him for an uncontested Goldstein mark. That's not dumb, its moronic.
  15. Glad you are not him.
  16. It was Cloke. Dragged him head first to the ground pinning one arm and a serious shoulder injury. Shoulder is high contact, injury is high impact and either negligent or reckless. He is in big trouble as Ling will miss weeks unlike Dangerfield. Oh no what I am saying, he plays for Collingwood, won't even get cited. By the way at the 7.40 minute left mark of the 2nd quarter Varcoe did a swing tackle pinning both arms and driving the player head first into the ground, could have broken his neck, but luckily no injury and will not be cited.
  17. The Supreme Court, but I think enough is enough. Time to move on and beat North.
  18. Agree. Time to get on with it and beat North.
  19. It will only be effective if several thousand people do it. You would have to leak it to the media so other Demon fans know what is being planned.
  20. If you want a visible protest that is not over the top, how about when the coin is tossed every Melbourne supporter stand up and turn his back on the ground until the game starts and do the same thing for the whole 1/4 and 3/4 breaks. Also we don't buy anything at the ground so that their figures are affected. I can tip off a few mates in the media who will be on to it.
  21. I have learned something from this, all the past players, all the current players, all of the media and all of the fans know nothing about football. Only Adrian Anderson and those employed by him on the MRP, Tribunal and Appeals Board do. I actually feel that Adrian Anderson and those mentioned should feel ashamed of what they have done to a 19 year old kid, who has never been reported in his life and who has been treated worse than a thug, who elbows or punches an unsuspecting opponent in the face. Shame , shame, shame on the AFL.
  22. We had an experienced advocate at the Tribunal and Galbally would have done no better. The word "preordained" just springs to mind.
  23. If that's what the concussion guidelines say, then I got that bit wrong.
  24. This was a "more good attitude".
