He is a leader and can do some leading by being with the group and part of the team. He will have many people at the ground supporting him and he may lift for the occasion, given he played poorly in the indigenous round. Lastly the Coach hinted that he might play.

Think Davey is a big chance to be our sub in "Brutus the Crocodile" land. We need to warn the players to be aware of midges and put the repellant on.

You miss the point. He is getting 1 week not 3. Of course he will plead guilty as it is the most blatant act and caught on cameras from several angles. He couldn't win the case in a million years and he gets another week off for pleading guilty. That is the point, there should not be a guilty plea discount on behind the ball incidents like this. The good behaviour 1 week discount is ok but not the other one. This penalty is a joke and I don't even need to mention Jack's 3 weeks for a tackle, in play, that most people think was ok, but for an alleged injury to the victim that really was not what it was said to be, as later confirmed by his doctors.

Brad Ottens just got 1 week after deductions for good behaviour and a guilty plea, for an elbow to the back of Nicoski's head, 50 metres behind play. Nicoski fell to the ground and was distressed. It was a cowardly attack from behind, well behind play and had the potential to cause a serious head injury. Andersen and Demetriou will no doubt commend the MRP as having done a brilliant job. If he is fit and over the injury, why not play him as the sub. That way he gets some game time and can probably play as our small forward, a position we are not covering. Then he wouldn't need a lot of game time yet could still add to our forward line. Don't know what good it would serve him running around Casey if conditions are like they were on sunday. Then does he miss another week or do you play him in the senior team even if he hasn't played well because of the Casey bye. Normally I would say come through the VFL, but the game being in Darwin and with the indigenous factor it might be the best option if he was the sub.

Mentioned today that Flash may play against Port in Darwin. Could he be the sub to ease him back?

Spoke to Jack Viney at Casey on sunday and discussed a few of his team mates at Vic Metro. He is not tall but is strongly built like his father. Can still grow a couple of inches I would think. He is a nice boy and looking forward to his AFL career with Melbourne. I hope it is a very good one. Was very impressed with Max Gawn in conditions that couldn't have been worse for him. His mobility is fantastic. He could be a very good player for us.
