  1. Interesting, found guilty and sanctioned, without the investigation concluding and without the Court challenge that would clearly follow such an event.
  2. That is the point. A dozen other clubs have done the same thing and the AFL knowing that, have said that tanking doesn't exist in AFL and that it is list management and have condoned it. As Patrick Smith said today, if the AFL condones something, then the clubs can feel confident that what they are doing is ok.
  3. I sometimes wonder if the peripheral football matters get more media than the actual games.
  4. And what exactly is "evidence"? Usually it is a version given on oath or affirmation, that is then tested by the other side. That usually happens in a hearing, not an investigation. If one is unhappy with the reuslts of an investigation that lead to sanctions, one has the right to a Court hearing.
  5. What would Demonland be without you sticking the boots into the club at every opportunity? Who the hell are you, clearly not a MFC supporter?
  6. No, there is a rule that a club, player or official must not bring the game into disrepute, whatever that is.
  7. Mick Malthouse has started already. He is claiming Carlton has a bad draw as they play some good sides early on, however it is rumoured that they will play only 1 final 8 side twice.
  8. Was thinking exactly that when I saw their delistings.
  9. i know how you feel, the frustration just gets the better of you. I have said it on here before and I don't wan't to sound like a nag, but I just get so upset when I think of what BP has left us. His high end choices have just been diabolical and are a major reason why we are chopping so many players. It just seems to me that he refused to go safe, to prove how smart he was and it has backfired heavily.
  10. Some of them do. Andy Maher on SEN this morning said we had done a good job and Neeld was stamping a team that he wanted, rather than what was forced on him. Michael Gleeson in the Age today said the same. That shows that not all of the media are [censored] all of the time.
  11. Settle down, you are talking about boys who were part of our club.
  12. Could be a big day today. First training session. We might get to see pictures of all our new boys in their Melbourne gear.
  13. If Byrnes is still on our list in 3 years we will be nowhere.
  14. I dislike Lynch and hope Blucher and he cop a pasting form the AFL.
  15. Think we can make a good gain, if we can convince someone like Jacobs to come out and say he wants to play with us and that he will nominate for the PSD with that intention.
  16. Maybe there was a discussion when the tanking inquiry started, that we might like to see the whole T$ recruiting issue investigated as well. Who knows?
  17. By mutual agreement you could change a contract. If he agreed to cancel or vary it to say $100.00 for the year, we could pay him out and he would be free to cross to WC. They wouldn't have to give up prized pick 88 and we wouldn't be up for some of his salary. They say they were keen to get him and they would have done a deal where they get him for nothing. They are talking about him making their starting 22 for the first game.
