  1. Byrnes off the list, is a non negotiable for me.
  2. I will pay him out. I f he takes one game off Kent I would be furious.
  3. Love to tell you but I wasn't there. He will have spoken to the entire list very soon, so it probably doesn't matter, does it?
  4. IMO I wouldn't delist someone like Tynan who is still young and developing, same for Taggert. Flash, Joel Mac and Rodan have retired. I would delist/trade Jetta, Gillies, Byrnes, Bail, Sellar if you keep Pedersen, Tapscott, Nicholson, Jamar and Strauss. I would keep Blease and develop him. I would give Davis another year unless you were offered a trade. That is 12 players, that is a big turnover on the senior list. Rookies Magner and Couch are probably also gone.
  5. The first few picks in a draft are gold and a very good player like Sloane is not worth say pick 2. Therefore unless there was other consideration I couldn't see us doing this sort of deal. As for a star, Cotchin, Selwood, Ablett, O'Meara, Boak, Pendlebury, Beams etc are stars. None of them would be cleared for pick 2. It is very difficult, but this coach has done it with the Josh Kennedy's and Ted Richard' of this world. that is the way we will probably go. Identify a couple of very good mids and make a play. Draft some more mids and a couple of small forwards. Identify players not getting a run who he thinks can develop. Improve and develop our own.
  6. Oh no, not number 9 from GWS.
  7. It doesn't count because it is actually now two threads combined.
  8. I can' t see us getting a star mid in a trade, maybe a couple of good ones but not a star. I think we will have to draft our star mids and improve Viney and Toumpas and Blease.
  9. I also get the feeling that a few of the clubs are blustering to appease their supporters, while privately they acknowledge the need for the Dees to improve quickly on the field.Remember this is all about money. The AFL is all about money. AD gets more money as well the more the AFL makes. Clubs get more money for bigger attendances and an interested TV viewing audience. The TV fees rely on interesting games. As I posted elsewhere just ask James Brayshaw who has been publicly outspoken against us one simple question," next time we play North as their home match, does he want a big or small crowd". That sums it all up.
  10. No need to worry for Essendon, they reappointed the golden boy for two years on the day he was suspended. They obviously have it all under control.PS. I don't think many will leave as there will be a strong bond between the players. Essendon will probably also top up some contracts and keep them reasonably happy.
  11. Missed most of the presser but hope to catch up later.. I did hear PJ talking about the PP and I think he said that the other 17 clubs will have to get over it if they want us to be competitive and improve the competition.
  12. But at least we can now see the trees and we have a very good woodchopper.
  13. Feeling that little tremor are we?
  14. We may have a new Coach today according to the Herald Sun.
  15. He is and it would, but it is probably better all round.
  16. Agree. Backing up a Coach and then replacing him and then backing up the next one is probably not the best scenario. That said, hello Todd. However,I think Todd is a bit more removed from the coaching day to day though and wasn't a contender for the position full time.
  17. Agree. Not the best, but far from the worst. Has had a good year. Can kick a goal and has a huge kick. Probably needs to work on those quick disposals.
  18. Why doesn't Robbo suggest WCE approach his golden boy Hird. Can't wait for more crap to hit Robbo's club.
  19. Probably means he trains hard, gives his all, does everything asked of him and doesn't whinge.
  20. He wasn't shafted and it wasn't before his time. He was 34 , had been injured most of the second half of the year and it was suggested that he should retire, rather than possibly playing out the end of his career at Casey. To say it was way before his time is just plainly wrong.
  21. You are just provoking me to slag off again at Prendergast, who IMO, would win "the most useless employee ever at the MFC", award.
  22. No we couldn't and we wont.
