Chip was a good player for us, especially early on, but seemed to lose interest in the last few years, where his form really tapered off. There were games where he annoyed the hell out of me. To me his big flaw was disposal and decision making. I don't think he will improve on disposal, but he may on decision making. If he doesn't, he won't play a lot of senior footy with the Hawks. Last night was only a NAB Cup game but he was very poor. He will improve, hopefully not enough for us to regret his leaving. Me, I am looking forward to seeing Brayshaw play.

Clearly the players want to control their own destiny. We can understand that. It just to a large degree, destroys what the draft and salary cap were set up to achieve.

Then I will watch less than a half, as I couldn't otherwise give a stuff about them.

I actually don't think this factor can be underestimated. Fans get invested in their players and the fact that players will effectively not give a stuff about their club, will ultimately affect membership numbers,attendances and interest in the game.

Just heard the best singer I have ever heard. Lisa Fischer, an American back up singer, who has been lead female vocal on every Rolling Stones tour since 1988. She had a brief solo career in the early 90's and won the grammy in 1991 for her single How to Ease the Pain. She can be seen in the Oscar winning documentary on Foxtel, channel Studio, "20 Feet from Stardom." What a voice, a gift from God.
