Wow, you sure are hellbent on ditching Clarrie. This is the second thread tonight in which you’ve suggested we trade him. You say he’s a country mile away from the player “we know he can be” which begs the question: why would we trade him when we know what he can (and will again) be? He’s playing with the fingers of one hand strapped together ffs.

Anyone who suggests trading or demoting Clarry, who is playing injured, has to be joking or trolling.

Clarry is the best contested ball player I have ever seen, in well over 60 years of watching footy.

It all comes down to the midfield. We are getting smashed in clearances and contested possessions. That’s the game.
You can’t blame the forwardline when the midfield is not able to win the ball.

And when we win it we give it back.

  3. I hope all Dee’s fans are realistic about Kolt in his first game and aren’t disappointed if he doesn’t have a great game.

On what we have seen he has the talent to make it, but may need time as most young players do.

Then again, he could turn it on.

Whilst I agree with you on the basis that we dont want to be based solely at Casey, the actual footprint we have at Casey vs what the prospecus says at Caulfield, its like double.

No it's not. Correct me if I am wrong but at Casey we have use of the Casey ground and Facility, not the whole ground area of the entire sporting fields.

At Caulfield we could have 2-3 ovals with one MCG size and a full training and administrative base, with even a low level grandstand built outside the track, giving us the best facilities in the AFL and in the central part of the Melbourne metro area. Casey will never have that.

I agree with your point the sooner the better though.

Yeah it's damm hard to travel there for 4 hours a day 3- 4 days a week when most players are on $300,000 + a year it must be hard on them.

No, not damn hard on them, merely stating what would be their likely preference, given where most of them live.

They are entitled to have a preference on where they would prefer to train, not that it would always be accommodated.

They might also have a preference which club they would like to play with and that also is not always possible.

Some Coiterie Members have put over 1 mill into developing Casey Fields such as Spa Pools etc, and with the view to build an Admin building close by. There is so much real estate there to turn that into our home base. With more stands around Casey Oval as well will stop the wind swirls too. Id be all for building there than looking at Caulfield which we will be restricted by room.

Caulfield will likely be less restricted for room than Casey, with less parking issues and more room for buildings.

More to the point, the MFC don't want to be based solely at Casey and I suspect the players would agree.

It is great for what it currently is and will be, an adjunct to a permanent, more centrally located home base.

  7. A warning to all of you wonderful people and good friends.

A disgustingly named thread has been started on DL.

It names the unnamed villain of this thread.

Please for your own mental health and well being don’t visit it.

I am shocked the mods have allowed this offensive thread to be started and continued.

  8. I accept the Kozzie suspension, but not Toby Greene smashing a player’s head into the ground, after he got rid of the ball and no penalty at all.

Which had more potential to cause an injury?

    System is f…ed.

  9. I don’t know if Kozzie can get off, probably not, but Toby Greene’s smashing of Mac Andrew’s head into the turf, after he had gotten rid of the footy, was far, far worse and dangerous and had the very real possibility of causing a serious injury.

How the hell was he completely let off?

The MRO, without any consistency of adjudicating, is little more than an embarrassing joke.

For what it's worth Kane Cornes today while commenting on the football said he would be surprised if Petty stayed at Melbourne.

Ralph changed his tune the other night and said Petty is more likely to stay now.

One of them will be right.

Soligo has also come out and said it was nothing

FWIW, he got votes on Sunday Footy show as their best player, who continued his very good game after the Kozzie bump.

Jefferson was just ok and nothing more - I made the effort to actually watch that game on replay as I’d read the comments in the match day thread about him performing well

His direct opponent was a very raw defender who frankly looks like he might struggle to make it

Jefferson’s kicking for goal was bordering on embarrassing and he constantly kept running too close to the man on the mark (such a basic and fundamental mistake). I saw little from him in terms of intensity and physicality to give me any more than a glimmer of hope. For me he still sits in the category of talented junior that performed well at times against kids but may never transition to an AFL player

We have seen this type of player before - Weed and Schache two recent examples on our list - hopefully I’m wrong but I do have serious doubts that he has what it takes

That is the worst kicking for goal I have seen from him, he is usually a pretty good kick for goal.

I think he will be in our team next year.

had to duck out so missed the end of the Froe Carlton game. I've just watched the last 5 mins.

the touch would have been difficult for the ump to pick up.

Jackson tapped a ball straight to the Carlton player to set up their go-ahead goal. One of the dumbest taps you will ever see.

Carlton are kissed on the [censored] this year. God help us all if they win a flag. I'll have to move overseas for a couple of months if it happens.

It’s always horrible seeing Carlton win, but this one, that way, was just sickening.

Freo were still up by 8 or 10 points with 3 mins to go but an unpaid mark at half forward for Freo (which should have been paid) goes down the other end and Carlton score. Game on from that point and momentum is huge in modern footy.

The whole of umpiring needs reviewing and I think as a code we need to look at better options as it’s ridiculous how small little decisions unfortunately do affect a whole game when the comp is so so even and tight.

Also Cotterill was allowed to play on from a free and goal when Freo players stopped and then with a few minutes to go and Dockers up, they got a free, played on to the wing and ready to go in and score and umpire brought it back. Carlton then got dodgy decision and win it.

    Game turning decision.
