$5mill in debt is not perilous with no assests to speak of? No footy dept spending, AFL house asking massive questions etc. I would suggest you're over playing your hand Hazy. As to fracturing the club... why don't you try and bring it back together? You clearly have been around the club at board level or have inside info so as A Jeans said DO SOMETHING but to untie the place not keep on the same lines of fracture, fracture leads to breakage, breakage deestruction...

From my understanding the reason there was a Stynes coup was the perilous state of the club at the time ie the massive debt, the concerns from AFL house on our viability, most believing we were on our last legs... I'm unsure as to why the previous board would have been so gracious given the state we were in. Hazy I want all Melb people to be working towards our ultimate goal... long term stability and winning an Fing flag not playing agenda's and politics or causing more drama and factions within the club known for factions. Focus on the end goal, work together to achieve it. If there are issues, ideas, opportunities then raise them with the club without taking the clubs eye off the end goal.

I did see Walls stated that!!! Where is the hoo haa and AFL investigation into that? Where is fat head Robbo bleating about that, where is Mike top 50 Sheenan asking the hard questions after seeing that quote?! Would have signed a seperation agreement wouldn't he including $$ and when paid, he can say what he likes I'd think (within reason of course).

Hazy was this a Schwab only call, I'd be surprised as I would have thought that was a footy Dept/Board sign off call not a CEO only call? Maybe it has to do with the fact we seem to struggle to find much talent across all positions.

But retention of those sponsors that is a question. Seeing Kaspersky on Buckley's jacket the other night I nearly threw up... Can you give me a run down of that? Which posters? And they are Gardner family?

Demons advocate.... so he is good at getting tin rattling/supporter donations what about getting sponsors on-board prepared to pay big $$ for the long term. I deliberately put long term as he seems like he can bring sponsors on (even if some have been through what appears to be sheer luck ie Kaspersky) but retention of sponsors seems to be a concern from the outside looking in. I know neither way if he is good long term or not but I think as Hazy mentioned and agree accountability has to be held by all in positions of power at MFC. He has passed the test from the boards point of view but is it the right call, time will tell.

Could give 2 flying sh !ts we have shown no ability to draft or develop players at the top end of the draft over the last how ever many years. I want a team that is a chance to win a game week in week out, to be relevant. NOT to be frigging happy about how sh !t we are so we get low draft picks. Looking at the Swans, Cats footy clubs who have this ability to find talent wherever they draft along with identifying fringe players from other clubs they think they can get the best out of and them having an impact is where I want MFC to be. When will that come?

Bail is not on his own in that regard. Our skills are below AFL standard (theme for years) and it shows game day, where we are on the ladder etc. Going to be a massive preseason for MFC on so many fronts.

I think there is a need for 2 byes not just the one moving forward. Let's not kid ourselves the amount of running today's players do is massive. From preseason to game day, over so many rounds... 2 rests out of 23 weeks is a must. Otherwise at this stage the season is waaayyyy to long as a Dees fan. In 2-5 years hopefully it is not long enough.

I was 12 in 88, I said to the old man I didn't want to go to the game (I just knew we would lose) he was not a happy camper a) i didn't want to go B) we got thrashed. 2000... beating Carlton in that final was the highlight, Woey Chas', the anticipation of GF week, going to the game with the old man for the last time. You just miss the anticipation of actually being a chance to win a game, play finals, win finals, be a chance to win a flag. edit 88, sorry fat fingers

AD our biggest rival is winning at present.... I'm an A's fan (because of the Aussie green and gold colours) and don't see them winning anything EVER again but they were fun to watch with the drugged up bash brothers and Ricky H stealing everything in site.

Thanks for the details, he is such an enigma as a player. He can kick goals out his khyber but just doesn't seem to suit the modern game. Who knows he may still kick 50 goals in a season but is a massive massive gamble and liability. Hilarious isn't it, he's a spud yet has 45 goals (9th in comp), 1st in contested marks, 5th in marks inside the F50.... Dees are crying out for another one of those players.

Madness, he still denies taking anything but he is not going to arbitration with the USADA. The UCI was backing his legal defence against the USADA's authority in the matter. The USADA was set up to find drug cheats, Lance says no physical evidence has been presented but the USADA states it has blood samples from 09/10 fully consistent with blood doping and 10 witnesses ready to testify. Just a sad situation all round. Livestrong huh....

Yes I seem to recall an article where Lovett is quoted as saying there will be a fair few MFC listed players available.... I do hope it happens this year.
