I think they can hold them all out if needed, depends on how many are a little borderline. The other week we held 3 out of I recall.

That still makes me shake my head.

I just hope we go hard at Mitchell and that giant f l o g Sicily.

Hearing the same message from the same people day in day does get boring. Multiple players from our club and others work with other people in the off season. Is there CBA involved as well? Ie the players have a mandatory rest period, are clubs unable to have to much contact in offseason?

I don’t know Dr but it has really stood out to me this year players ability to break a tackle or at least hold off an effective tackle to get an effective disposal away. @Skuit point about rugby plans is an interesting one, I noticed at the game and in replay a couple of times at stoppages where it looked like we were lined up like a rugby defensive line, all on one side of the stoppage with North on the other side. I was wondering were I’d seen it before, Rebels game. Are we trying to play in phases, box kicks and putting the ball out inside the 22? One to watch.

Also with the younger group maturing they are breaking more tackles, see one C Petracca as exhibit a.

Watching live and again in replay you can see on occasion players jogging when chasing rather than a hard chase allowing the likes of Hartung to just waltz through the centre of the ground. Salem and Clarrie stood out a couple of times but they both are still building. Side note is Cunnington one of the most underrated players in the comp? He just always seems to bob up with the ball and delivers it well most times.

Well we won’t win a final under Goody then, he and this coaching team have nailed there flag to the Oscar/Lever led back line. I disagree and think they will be key to us playing deep into finals, Frost is the linchpin to it all. If frosty can maintain that rage every game he will be our best defender. He has pace other lack, he can really break a zone when he takes off and can defend both talls and smalls. One thing I did notice in our defensive 50, if we had a free or mark, is we went down the line often on the weekend. Most teams are trying to go around the zone out the back but our defenders rarely made the “effort” to run back into space in the def 50. They stayed high or fwd of where the player with the ball was who then went down the line with a long kick. Tommy Mc and Viney are keys for a) our structure and b) midfield/resting ruck options, they will put us in a very strong position going into the back half of the season. It feels like we are going ok but 20%-30% of really clicking and being a very dangerous side to play against. We do some things very well and have plenty i50s but lapses that lead to goals that we need to improve on. It’s early doors in the season and a number of players (Frost/Kent etc) have not played senior footy in some time so plenty of upside.

I was sitting next to an old fella today who left school in the early 50’s... my grandfather was a Dees man during this time as well. They were incredibly lucky to see that era. I sat just behind Ronald Dale and Hassa Man, in the room were Greeny, Hoppy and a few others, after the siren Neita and Trapper dropped in plus plenty of 90s North players in the room too. Great day plus the win.

Don’t worry I backed you up on Kent, well played Mr Kent. Very well played.
-
Finally agree with you on something. Hhhmmm who played on him all game..... the Grouch! Didn’t have many but if it wasn’t for some gifts he would have would have put Brown in the bin.

Tarrant a late out....

God I hope we win this one, need to keep building momentum early in the season, confidence etc and fk off this losing streak. North are taking me along to the Dees Chairman’s function so hoping for a cracking day with a easy Dees win.

He’ll be on an AFL list in 5 years time easily, see examples such as: James Sellar, Jack Fitzpatrick, Jake Spencer, Rohan Bail, Jordie McKenzie. If players like the above can be on an AFL list for 5+ years Weid will as well. He’ll be a good player, give him some time.

Nice, good to see the small Vic clubs well represented.

The manufacture build up to this game was embarrassing! They are chit trucks and we all know it. Acting like these is a big makes no sense. In saying that hearing Eddie pre-game talking about his club v the blues was something I feel like we miss.

Yeap agree, I was trying to spark some debate about, if invested wisely, maybe just maybe we could get a larger return with $11m than the $2m we currently do from pokies. Also it’s not like this has been in the works for a few weeks, both PJ and Bartlett said it’s been in discussion for a couple of years. They know what they are doing.
-
Got to give him a few games but I think he is pretty average and Gussy would have been ahead of him.
-
Hey mate, From the Jake Niall article, we will recieve close to $11m from MVRC.. thus the question of what return we'd get if we plonked that into a bank? Melbourne will reap close to $11 million this year by selling their gaming venue as part of the club’s decision to take the lead in exiting from poker machines... ..will receive almost $11 million from Moonee Valley in a sale that will take effect on July 31. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/gambling-exit-demons-hit-the-jackpot-with-11m-20180404-p4z7p7.html

What kind of return would you get if you put $11m in the bank?
-
Did Salem train?
-
That money would still go to schools, hospitals etc without pokies, it’s not like it would be saved under a mattress at home, it would be spent and go to state or federal revenues. As others have said, pokies have been dragons solely to take your money. The fact governments allow them is nonsensical.

I’m not arguing, I’m responding, adding a comment. We’re all Dees members or fans. We’re a peripheral team at this stage because that 1 qtr of chit is so bad, take your head out of your a rse and you might see that.

It’s rnd 2?! These type of comments are amusing, pulling out a 6 day break and a flight to Brissy as an issue.
