  1. When the people use elite in draft and stats it's considered the top 10% of the body being assessed.

So so to be an elite midfield you need to be in the top 10% in the league. There's about 720 players in the league so to be an elite player you need to be in the top 72 so mainly the end of year top 50s plus the unlucky players.

An elite midfielder would be about the top 30 to 35

Crazy as you may think, I would not take anyone from EFC irrespective of what they bring to the team. I like winning games but I like the moral high ground. We are looking at luring drug cheats to our club. For me, it has bad karma written all over it. I would also be concerned with giving away some really good players or those with great development potential. I know trading is part of the marketplace but we are developing a champion team and with that developing stability, mateship and a desire to achieve success together. I mean seriously who would you be happy to trade and what message does that send to our young team.

Our next Senior coach was fully involved in it.

so is our development coach Macca who was up to his neck in it at Geelong and Essendon

our players were using some of the substances

i think moral high ground might be a little late

  3. Port Adelaide have been doing this to us for a number of years now with the Darwin game. By always being the away time for that game they are to create the same community hype that we have.

When the Minster for NT recently criticised the Dee's community engage it was listed in the papers that port would look at continuing there NT relationship.

FYI - port Adelaide have a contact saying they have to play 11 games at Adelaide oval hence why they can't be the home tea

  4. I hope they don't start using mental illness as a 'catch phrase' to cover up behaviour that don't want to discuss.

A bitter dispute now turns into a mental illness??? I doubt the illness caused a dispute or is this a way for Gary to be sidelined(suspended) for awhile and no one question it or him on his return??

  5. I wouldnt be so sure.

We are armed with pick 4 or 5, and I couldnt see any of the clubs below us trading their picks.

We will have some salary cap room and are currently a better option than say Carlton or Essendon.

We arent in a bad spot to chase a player at the moment, at all.

That isn't acquiring a free agent the new, it's trading.

Freo gave up nothing but we had to trade for bernie vince, it was the compo pick but it's not the point.

Collingwood traded Dawes for a top 20 pick and obtained his replacement (lynch) for nothing

    Melbourne hasnt done this sadly

  6. Still haven't answered the question 'Lance'.."EFC is not the only club that injects experimental substances. AFL clubs have a long tradition of this sort of thing and other innovations."

    Where is your evidence?

This is already well covered and our supporters want to believe we were above board why others weren't

  7. Always wonder what the coaches intstrustuobs are!!!

They are happy with his performance so do they have him playing a decoy role

Most people on this site haven't played the game and don't understand the structures and the work off the ball that is required which means their criticisms are ill informed.. Watts stays on this feet rather than dive on a ball in a contest to remain influential... His footy IQ his higher than anyone on here this he does benefit from sheer desperation like a Mckenzie...

All this being said he has struggled to become involved in matches this season... Changing him from a wing to fwd to huff doesn't help but he sadly will never be worth a no 1 pick

He reminds me of trav Johnstone, so laconic in style and just doesn't deliver on the God given talents

  8. The fact that the AFL did not pre planning for an outcome which had EFC players suspended leaving it to the last minute for nab cup etc

That and the fact the verdict was given two days before the start of the season which washed any again away with round one suggests the afl knew what they were doing the whole time

  9. Gees Clarkson has got away with the one especially given his priors. Just shows the media influences the opinion on the public

Whilst the guy was [censored] he was only yelling and intoa camera with his head next to clarksons. Clarkson was four steps from his hotel door so not like it wasn't about to end. He didn't push him away to create shape and to protect his personal space as he would of used his right hand. He struck him with an open hand to the throat not pushing him to the chest.

Clarkson struck him because he was [censored] off not because he feared for his safety. Provoked yes but when has that justified assaultinv someone

  10. This scenerio reminds me of Walsh street

Everyone knows that victor pierce and his goons killed Tynan and Eyre but the police just couldn't get enough evidence mainly because they were relying on crooks Statements for some of there evudence in an attempt to obtain a conviction.

Not guilty at court was the verdict but everyone knew who committed the crime

  11. Sadly the trial should be this simple with EFC poor records

Do you agree the players received injections... Yes

What were in those injections... We don't know

Was there banned drugs at EFC.... Yes a few different ones

Do they have a legitimate reason for being on site

Well with illegal drugs at the venue,

players receiving injections with unknown substances

It's hard to say those illegal substances whereby thrown out so went into the players

If there is an issue about which player then the club can be suspended for 2 years

obviously and records would help sort this problem out but sorry EFC you need to cough up

  12. The only way players will get off is if there is no evidence that each player received an injection especially with no records. Players that had text messages about there thymo shot might go and any admission might get some but others could avoid it.

Unless there is a charge relating to attempted use or acquisition with the consent form listing them to receive a thyomin injection providing enough evidence I can't see all the players going down. it wouldn't be that simple as a few other docs would need to confirm the overall programs aim and tb4 inclusion in all persons program thus this might not happen.

  13. After wada let the 3 match suspendion for the nrl stand nothing will surprise me. People say the afl was more systematic than the nrl but I thought if you used PEDs you got two years!

Saying this WADA will be hugely interested in the case regardless of the local game line as everytime drug cheats beat the system it sets a precedent and then all further cheats caught try to use the same excuse as it has worked before.

Look at the clenbutarol in the steak line always used when someone is caught with it. This was due to a u17 soccer tournament in Mexico where there was 100 positive readings. This was obvious a contaminated meat issue but everyone uses it as an excuse.

The same will happen with the Essendon decision if it stands l.

From my reading (would be happy to hear another parts that are an issue) The main concern for the judges was they couldn't be certain it was tb4 in the supply chain. They found the intent was to order tb4 and it was compounded if it was tb4 and handed to dank but because no external test of the product occurred (there was a weight measure of particulars which doesn't show the tb4 but did show it was the same or similar composition weight to tb4). This resulted in the tribunal stating that they aren't satisfied that the Chinese company did provide tb4 although I doubt they have just outed the evidence rather than follow throw with the line of thinking and explain what the substance was.

this evidentiary standard would require either a positive test or a located vial to be tested only if it could be confirmed if that vial was the one that was injected

It shows to me the lawyers/tribunal didn't join the dots but rather searched for something that would enable them to say not guilty. This level of proof means that if a cyclists buys a vial of EPO from a doctor or chemist and even though it states EPO looks like EPO the Efc precedent means if it hasn't Been tested it can't be confirmed as EPO regardless what the wholesaler states. The Evidence require to meet the tribunals concerns is nearly impossible

People trying to cheat don't use normal supply chains, they use cash, don't write anything down and the people has some shady history. I think WADA is aware of this and understands how the game is played when sportsperson try to cheat hence they won't need to see anything like what the tribunal wanted and are happy to join the dots as any other scernerio is not possible especially as injections are admitted.

  14. Everyone is always trying to copy the premiers as that is the new way to play and pushed by the media

Sadly I think Bailey was the only recent coach which was going for a different game plan than popular at the time and rather than copying the premiers of the previous years he had his own plans for a football team. Sadly he n.eded two more years to see that through and if successful everyone would have copied Melbourne or we would have not had enough to make the top echelon

  15. The wolfmother post rears its head again...

    Mate,

I'm not trying to cause issues, I just get really frustrated watching us supporters defend people who maybe not have the highest moral compass but because we are tribal we wont here a bad word about them. Knowing what has gone just makes you ashamed and think people have a right to know rather than thing these footballers are Infallible

I have come to realise how much the AFL protects its brand even over the right decisions. I was part of this not making a Collingwood player not responsible for his actions and thought I was just helping out. I soon realised this happens regularly and small drunk things should not be blown up (according to me) but things like PEDs makes me shake my head and this has only happen because the small things have set the precedent

I love the dees despite them being so frustrating. I would never try to hurt this club but they need to be held to account or at least the truth told to people rather than their behaviour be without repercussions.

  16. You forget that investigations relating to use of PEDs and banned substances happen to be conducted by ASADA, not the AFL. It's nothing like the tanking situation.

In the case of the MFC and one player, Trengove, Dank's involvement concerned the use of a substance admittedly used at Essendon and not pursued by ASADA. Reid's attempting (in whatever forum) to spread insinuations about any other club, about anyone else, is the height of hypocrisy.

As I've already said, we know all this.

Wow read the link to refresh your memory but mfc players were getting injections from dank. One of them mentions Dunn requesting them after the other boys raving about them...

I'm not hear to push the issue and are happy if they want to delete the thread but redid comments only confirm what I expected chad happened. even though 'a small group size' I think the reaction and automatic defences of our club by posters may show us exactly were essendon supports are at
