As I left Wong's the other night, the proprietor Steven handed me a fortune cookie which I forgot about until this morning. I cracked it open to read: "If Campbell Brown doesn't pay, Then Steven May." I've always been confused by this Confucius thing so if there are any experts out there in oriental mysticism, I would appreciate an interpretation.

OK.Let me explain this to you very slowly. If the size of the wager is the amount they're going to be charging to view the show and If the show is actually going free to air ... How much do I owe you?

You don't need to worry about taking money from mates because if you check the terms there's no way I would be paying out anyway. You can foot the bill at Wongs if you like though

I'm willing to bet you that they're actually going to charge subscribers to watch the draft programme.In fact let's make the size of the wager the amount they're going to be charging to view the show.

Perhaps that might be because they are going to charge for viewing? If they do that then I'll seriously consider canceling Foxtel altogether at least until the footy starts again. How can they justify having a dedicated football channel that shows reruns all summer and makes you pay for the one "live" piece of broadcasting in that period of time?
