I'm with you! Feel like our senior players will lift and kozzy will bring a spark that we have been missing A lot of pride in this group, will come out with a lot to prove. Although I was thinking that last week before the suns game 😅

Brisbane were terrible and hawks were on the way for a wooden spoon

I think these long contracts have hamstrung our ability to lure in a key forward. Surely we could have gone after someone the past 3 years????

Totally agree mate. North will be much improved this year we wont be the only scalp they take. They were on the cusp of breaking through last year, nearly did us and collingwood. Perhaps by midyear this loss may have a different perspective As for gameplan. We are trying to move the ball faster and quicker on turnover with handball and quick ball movement. if they are well set in defense, we move into a slower mode and chip the ball around to work our way through the zone. We showed in both games and preseason that when we get this right, we can play well. Unfortunately it will be a fine balance and yesterday North were hungrier To anyone that says Goodwin hasn't adapted or changed isn't paying attention. This is very differnt to 2022/2023 forward territory game As for Gawny, he was trying to humanise max and defend his performance, but unfortunately he opened up a can of worms which is what everyone is going to focus on this week. People said fagan couldnt coach after rd 5 last year remember?
  5. You could see it in the behind the goals vision as windsor broke those two tackles. He drifted off his man and got the seperation for windsors beauty of a kick. I think he will stick some marks, he plucks some in the VFL I think he will prove to be a great foil for van rooyen. JVR the one on one beast, and jeffo the more leading and crafty type forward. Thinking about it now a JVR, Jefferson and Turner forward line could be something special in a few years time, looking forward to hopefully seeing them combine this weekend. All have some different attributes that might compliment each other, only time will tell
  6. For speed on the ball and a bit of movement, i like the move Maybe its because he has just been such an outside player for so long but i just cant picture him lining up on a Tom Green and doing well?
  7. I love Spargo. It's good to hear his injury is improving. I just worry he has missed so much with such a tricky injury. Really hope he gets fully fit and firing this year and back to his best (even if just in the twos)
  8. That was the moment for me. Clearly has the body and appetite for the contest, but the class and poise to match Really excited to watch him play at the G
  9. ah well, if we really wanted him, we would have made it happen. would have been nice to slide through as a rookie

The best time is 5 years ago 😅 We took a key forward 2 years running with our first pick in JVR and Jefferson. They will need time to develop. We need to remember JVR has performed well above expected for his age, not meant to hit his peak for a few years still. I agree with the last part. No matter who we draft, it is for what the team will look like in 5 years time. Outside of Trent rivers and maybe Windsor, it is a great chance to add another young gun to our midfield stocks
  11. 5 - Langford 9 - Travaglia
  12. Sure armstrong will become a good player, but surely we don't take another key forward 3 years running? If we go list needs then wouldn't a defender be more of a requirement than forward? (we can swing him forward anyway lol) Personally would like to go with two best available mids regardless
  13. Gut feel says JT will have this kid high on his list. Take the best mid remaining at 5 and then Travaglia at 9. Would be a great draft to complement Windsor and Kolt
  14. Feel like he hasn't been given much of a run at senior level yet. Must be hard being the sub, but i suppose he isn't best 22 if everyone is fit. I like him, hope he improves and has a crack next year but it's will be a tough midfield to break into.
