  1. I’m hating the way this appears to be heading 🫣
  2. Yeh Humphrey doesn’t sound like it’ll be happening. Twomey and Beveridge very insistent that Gold Coast won’t entertain a trade involving him. If we miss on Flanders too this’ll be an all time trade shafting
  3. Morris just said that St Kilda gets Flanders and we get pick 7 I’ve done this bluff before but if all we get for trac is pick 7 (11 after academy bids and WC Allen compensation) I genuinely can’t justify my membership price for next season
  4. I want corroboration from any of the more reliable sources (twomey or Cleary especially) before I buy too much into this. Xander seems a good bloke but wouldn’t put my house on his sources just yet.
  5. Realistically how does a 7 win team fare after losing 4 of its best 22 (1 a young gun, 1 2nd in the BnF and 1 showing signs of getting back to lofty standards) in the same offseason, without replacing them with anything special and having limited draft capital. I will not begrudge King at all a bottom 4 finish next year, as that seems where we’re headed. All in for Dougie Cochrane!
  6. Heard through the grapevine that at a grand final luncheon yesterday Ross was insistent we’re still the front runners for Flanders
  7. Would be a great result. If travaglia also manages to slide I’d snap him up at 9
  8. Could be cold feet the night before a wedding. But I’m not sure Lindsay’s disposal is good, really, at all. Far too much loft on his kicks inside 50 https://youtu.be/jGa4Wjz3j3A?si=4D1uQrF12ODkjGI2
  9. Of the four names that we’re linked to (tauru, Langford, Lindsay, Allan), I think the only combination I’d be disappointed with is Lindsay and Tauru. Feel like at minimum we need 1 big bodied, ready to go mid for round 1 next year
  10. JT mentioned on gettable yesterday that the Gippsland boys have been very welcoming of Mentha, and specifically name dropped Duursma (I think Zane?) and Lindsay
  11. I’m not sure I see it with Lindsay, hence why I’m keener on Allan. I acknowledge Lindsay’s disposal is great, but Allan’s build and athleticism, and leadership skills, make him more alluring to me. Realistically, so long as we take a mid with pick 5, im not overly fussed with what we do with pick 9, certainly won’t kick up a stink if Lindsay joins.
  12. More than happy with Tauru at 9, just not at 5. To be taken in the phantom draft with st kilda’s 2nd pick, I reckon call must have word that, although he’s a bolter, he’s not likely to be a top 5 pick
  13. If ever there was a year for twomey to be bang on… Langford and Allan would be unreal
  14. I appreciate your optimism, but ending up with say Tauru and Lindsay, when just a couple days ago we were eyeing off Langford/FOS/Smith and Allan, is uninspiring to say the least
  15. Yep. If Langford/Smith/FOS are available we’ll take them, if not it’s Tauru is my read as well
  16. Feels like Allan will be a demon if still available at 9
  17. I know JT knows more than me, but the risk of passing up on one of Langford/Draper/Jagga/FOS for Tauru is just something I can’t wrap my head around if it comes to fruition
  18. Twomey has implicitly ruled us out as one of Armstrong’s potential suitors. There is a god
  19. I may have misheard, didn’t he say he doesn’t expect Tauru to get through to us?
  20. I thought lever was having an awesome year pre-injury. If he gets back to that level next year then we won’t need a replacement for half a decade
  21. A characteristically obtuse article from the worst journo in the biz
  22. My bad, I was saying 5 is a reach for Allan, not 9
  23. I have a huge concern with Armstrong (outside of his marking), that being his disposal numbers. I’m well aware KPFs are there to kick goals, and not rack up the footy, but averaging less than 10 touches in the CTL and carnival is worrying. When I think of the best KPFs (curnow, Cameron etc.) I think of their ability to link up play higher up the ground, marking high up the wing, and being involved later in the play, forward of the ball. Just checking the stats, Jezza averaged 16.1 touches last season. The best KPFs in the comp don’t thrive off <10 disposal games. To be averaging that at u18s level suggests that Armstrong is a long long way off being AFL ready.
  24. Concerns over kicking is probably the biggest knock on Allan, though. I’m big on the kid and he’s by far my preference at pick 9, but seems redundant to overlook Draper, whose agility and evasiveness is immense, because of concerns re his kicking, but reach on someone who also has kicking issues, but doesn’t probably have the same ceiling that Draper has.
  25. Nightmare fuel
