Is it too early to line up for finals tickets?

PODCAST: Rd 03 vs Carlton
I thought Sparrow produced one of his best performances in the second half. He really stood up around the contest, worked hard through the middle, and was able to push forward and hit the scoreboard. Last week I asked whether we might be expecting too much from our young brigade. I thought they responded strongly in the second half. Most of them had first halves they would want to forget, but the same could be said for plenty of Dees players. There were fumbles and missed disposals everywhere early, yet Langford, Lindsay, Windsor and Kolt all lifted after the break and helped bring Kingy’s game style to life as the Dees overran the Blues.

Are we expecting too much from our young brigade? I really hope we’re not seeing a case of second-year blues from the likes of Langford and Lindsay, because at times they looked a little out of their depth. They certainly weren’t the only ones. Windsor looked that way too, and Trelly at times seemed exposed as not quite being ready for the big stage just yet. Maybe I’m expecting too much from these guys. They’ve been fast-tracked into trying to fill the void left by the sudden disappearance of our premiership midfield.

I reckon if one of the stronger Vic clubs had the currency to satisfy the Suns then Bailey would be making stronger noises publicly to come home. If he ends up staying I guarantee that come the trade period next year and the big Vic clubs have their ducks in a row they will easily be able to pry him out of GC.

It's still early days in the Trade Week but I think GC probably think that they can pry Petracca from the Demons for picks alone. Past experience has shown that the Dees don't play hardball when players want to leave. Hopefully we have hardened up and turned over a new leaf and are prepared to walk Petracca back to the club on day 1 of preseason training. GC will be hoping that we fold and then if Humphrey still wants to leave they can hopefully pry as many picks as they can from the Hawks. Everyone is trying to win here and that would be a double win for the Suns.- The Bailey Humphrey Thread
If Humphreys wants out of GC it does not necessarily need to be tied to the Petracca trade either. He could nominate a club or just state that he wants to return home and if GC eventually relent then they could very well decide to deal with Hawthorn or Collingwood. Hawthorn have the Blues first pick and might very well be prepared to part with that for a player like Bailey Humphreys. We would be naive to think it has to be a part of the Trac trade.- PODCAST: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Selection this week should be interesting. Viney & Lever should be returning from injury. If they are both deemed fit to play. Who comes in and who will come out?- PODCAST: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Taking Max off in the last quarter was obviously a strategic move taking advantage of the scoreboard to give him a much needed rest. Given that it's unlikely that we will be in a similar position in many games this season how should the coaching staff balance player load management in games especially in games that aren't yet secured?- PODCAST: Rd 02 vs North Melbourne
That loss was so deflating. We're 0-2 now coming up against a rested Gold Coast who will be tasting blood in the water. Is it panic stations at 0-3? What about after a trip down the highway to Geelong and potentially 0 and 4 before we head to Gather Round in Adelaide to face off against the other wooden spoon hopeful the Bombers. What happens at 0 and 5? I won't mention the match after that. You get the picture. It's bleak.- PODCAST: Practice Match vs Fremantle
Welcome back guys. It was a nice surprise to see the podcast pop up in my feed last week. Looking forward to a great year of podcasting ahead. We had more possessions +39 More Marks +6 More Shots on Goal +6 Equal Tackles More Inside 50s +18 More Hit Outs +22 More Clearances +18 But we lost by 19 and I felt it should have been much more. Besides the first 8 minutes of the 1st quarter and most of the 3rd I thought we were either smashed or absolutely exposed. Surely the difference wasn't just our missed shots.- Christian Petracca
Very interesting that not one Dees player on Instagram has shared the MFCs post to their Instagram story. Hmmmm. 🤔 Happy he’s staying. Let’s hope he’s returning to a happy family on day one of pre-season. Go Dees.- Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
This was a disastrous interview. If I was an opposition player or manager of an opposition player I would not want to come to this rabble or advise my client to come to this rabble. This club is staring into the face of oblivion.- PODCAST: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
Would love for the club to give 3 goal Premiership hero Benny Brown a proper send off this week as he is likely to retire at seasons end. Will we give him a farewell game this week or is that just not an option off the back of a 10 goal haul from our key position forwards in a game where they get another free hit to show their wares and practice the set up for 2025?- PODCAST: Rd 12 vs Fremantle

A fantastic win on Saturday. I'm still buzzing. I wish I could have been there to witness some of those ferals in the crowd leaving in silence. Kudos to the 200 gamer Jack Viney. The guy bleeds red and blue and I nearly shed a tear when he burst through the 50 sidestepping a couple and banged through the goal. What a warrior.- VOTES: Rd 02 vs Hawthorn

Last week you had a discussion about whether Salem's midfield role would be impacted by the loss of Bowey and you were lamenting losing a sort of new found weapon in the middle that was needed with the loss of Gus and the uncertainty surrounding Oliver a few weeks back. Well yesterday we witness the glorious return of Clarry to the MCG and Salem attended the most centre bounces of all of our midfielders and Hore was an adequate replacement for Bowey. I'd call that a win. Thanks to Demonlander @deanox for the stats. As an addendum were you happy with Kozzy Pickett's 7 centre bounce attendances. Is this enough or do you want more?- PREGAME: Rd 02 vs Hawthorn
