  1. Thanks Deem...67 for posting this. Does raise some good ideas and would take away the tanking concerns and scheduled surgeries etc that occur at the end of the season. The heavily compromised draft ( with all the academy selections and father/son) combined with the lopsided FIX-ture would limit the ability for this to work in the current AFL setup. I do support the idea of a true attempt of equalisation of talent to encourage different clubs up at the pointy end of the season. As we can currently see (and will to see in the next 5 seasons I believe) the increasing gulf between the haves and have-nots in terms of coaching, facilities, handouts, under the table/ off the books payments, allowances and just plain corruption across the league.
  2. No trip to g town - play the cats once at the g. Kudos to the prez/coach/whoever for getting this done !
  3. Free agency should be structured so that the team that gets the startplayer has to give up their allocated draft pick - Allen going to Brisbane should not mean that WCE gets another first round draft pick and then everyone else shuffles back. Brisbane should give them their 1st round draft pick in return and then some based on the 'recipe' that the AFL uses. Perhaps even give back 10% of the first years wage from the free agent to the club that loses the player ( Geelong of course might have give some of the land back too) F/S and academy should be not be paid for by bundled junk picks at the end of the draft. If they are a good enough player then pay the right amount. If you can's pay up then you don't get the player
  4. Brayshaw was probably the ( one of the) missing link since 2022 - comparing Sam F to him is a big wrap IMO
  5. Sour grapes by Sam. Justifying by saying that the Essendon and St Kilda current coaches didn't go through a coaching interviews - great examples there !
  6. Perhaps it's just DL, but the club seems to be positioning (through the media) a narrative change to the last couple of years. Of course talk is cheap but at least it's a start. It looks like we have a relatively straightforward first 5-8 rounds so with the new mindset, 'culture' and winning form - we may just get our standing and belief within the football community back to where it should be.
