  1. I agree, he always tries hard, I want us to keep him.
  2. Ahhh...well I remember thinking the same thing about Melbourne players like May and Brayshaw when they were golfing like it was an easy Sunday morning meanwhile we were losing games and not at our best. I stick to my comment :)
  3. AFL talking about Tomlinson considering trades again...maybe he's asked not to play or maybe they don't want to play him because they know he's thinking about moving and might not put himself on the line as much as other players??? Baffles me why he isn't just put straight in instead of Petty, I reckon Tomlinson needs his shot and could be a stayer, really rate him.
  4. What's with the golf? Can these guys just focus on winning more premierships while we're in the window to do it, then when we hit a slump go play some golf...priorities!!
  5. How is that even allowed to happen in a club with some good depth like we have? Is it partly on the players themselves hiding injuries and doing the old "put me in coach I'm okay I just want to play" routine and putting their own ego in front of the club and the rest of the players? Can that happen these days? I feel like that's the only way some of these obviously injured players keep getting played. I just can't see how a professional elite sporting club would play injured players over fresh capable bodies sometimes, the mind boggles. No need for it.
  6. Why on earth is the website talking about trying to see if Petty is well for selection? Even the three blind mice under the stairs can see he needs a rest to get himself right and we've got a perfectly good defender in Tomo who should be in there doing his thing! Unless we're saving Tomo for finals what the heck are they thinking??? Also Melksham really needs to keep his spot, he's just been instrumental in getting the whole season back on track he is a real spark and needs to stay....I'm sure he'll stay in the team for a while yet but damn he needs to stay even when other options are on the table. Melbourne has needed a spark for a while, Melksham is it, please keep him in!!! I think BBB and JVR are a great pairing too, the forward line is finally looking pretty good and exciting. Just give Petty a rest the poor guy looks like he really needs it.
  7. Love Smith as sub. So long as Milkshake stays in and doesn't get replaced by Fritsch even when he's fit I'll be happy, Milkshake has the x-factor and not many others have it. Fritsch is great, but he just hasn't had that "fire" for ages now. I just don't want to see Milkshake lose his spot no matter who else is fit and healthy he deserves to stay in as starter.
  8. What on earth were they thinking they knew he was carrying that and they still put him in over a fully healthy player..why is that allowed to happen when players like Smith and Tomlinson are fit and healthy?? Genuinely want to know how that decision happens
  9. I just don't think he should have been brought in before spending some time in the VFL, wasn't ready, and they got rid of Tomlinson and messed with a back line that was in the team that beat Collingwood...not sure how that tracked but it didn't seem right to me. Should earn spot back through vfl.
  10. Spargo out. Petty get out. Melksham sub. Not sure about others but get Tomlinson back in dammit and give Brown a go. Wow, it's going to be cold and wet in Alice, didn't see that coming!
  11. Grundy sub...can't be worse than what's been going on let's try it!
  12. Team we had against the pies worked well, why on earth would you mess with something that worked well against the best team in the comp?? Who cares who's ready, do not mess with that back line when it worked so well! (still get rid of guys like Jordan and Spargo, they need a spell, get Bowey anywhere he's a great ball user!)
  13. Very true...is Grundy trying to replace Jackson's role or are they trying to have him ruck a bit more than Jackson was? Lots of things worked a lot better that year, not just the ruck.
  14. Can't ignore that Gawn rucking led us to premiership though...now maybe things have changed since then, but there's some chatter about Gawn being better off on his own, not sure if that's true but let's say it might be, surely just send Grundy forward and teach him to kick better, he'd make a decent tall target at least and Max can go back to doing his thing without trying to figure out some new ruck combo. It wasn't broke, so why are we fixing it?
  15. Is this too far fetched? We are carrying on about forward lines, and also about how Max is below his best and too busy trying to share with Grundy...could this be an option? Sure would make a good target!
