  1. First time actually seeing him in action tonight. To quote the worst commentator getting around, "Wowee!" Obviously needs some work as any 17yo does but he is a rare beast in the AFL world. Almost Luke Jackson like in the last quarter in the way he moves. Same blend of height and athleticism. I'm excited.
  2. 1 point against what is (it hurts to say) the best team in the comp this year. We can argue about stuff ups in the last quarter, last minutes or mistakes all throughout the game but how about we talk about the good things we did? Steven May? Max Gawn, Trac? The young boys? Kolt and Lindsay holding the ball tackles were fantastic. Langdon on Daicos (the fairy) was fantastic for large portions. So many big efforts today, we lost by the absolute slimmest of margins. This may not be our year but I am so confident that we can upset a few teams along the way. David King mentioned a few weeks ago that he thinks we will be a force in 26, 27. I am loathe to agree with anything that man says but I feel we are building towards that. We all hate losing to the pies. I am 100% confident that as well as they may do over he next year or 2, the next few after that will be rough for them.
  3. Incredibly frustrating still be saying "bad kicking is bad football" halfway through 2025 season. May as well be our motto at this point along with being the expected score kings. Obviously been discussed ad nauseum but so many of those set shots were gettable by my sons year 10 footy team. Obviously they haven't just run 10 + km so fatigue is definitely a factor in some of the Dee's kicks but that was atrocious. The hooks that some of them were kicking from directly in front speak of a flawed technique, which given that these problems have existed for years, you would think we would have sorted out. Chocco is simply taking the [censored] at this point.
  4. I really rate this design. Looks really good. It says in the little Melbourne news article about it that the writing underneath the Chevron means "all hearts beat true for the red and the blue". Love it.
  5. Both teams coming off short breaks and both teams confident after good wins. Should be a good game regardless. Don't let the talk of the inexperience of these tigers fool you, they are capable of playing good football. It may be closer than we would like and I fully expect the skill levels of both to drop off in the 2nd half with fatigue. All that being said I would be disappointed if we don't win by at least 3 goals.
  6. I'm sure this will get asked repeatedly over the next week. Do we keep tinkering with the forward line or leave it for a week? Only saw patches of the VFL and it seemed more of the same from Roo and Fritsch, definitely didn't light the world on fire but in saying that GWS were also very good. Seperate issue but how do you feel about Culley? Wins the ball and is very hard at it but seemed like another butcher in his disposal and I feel we already have a few of them. Do you think he will break into the side?
  7. Thankyou Port for taking the spotlight off of MFC woes for a bit by showing up the Hollywood Hawks. Ken has always been a master at pumping up the troops for an occasion. Port looking amazing tonight. Talk will be of how the poor hawks are coming off a bye and have some injuries.
  8. Curried egg please. I apologize in advance for the smell
  9. Great to see Billings slot one. Also great to see the boys show a bit of aggression after that late bump.
  10. Whilst this week is by no means a write off, I'm really excited about next week. If we can get through today without any injuries then next week we could have a fit and firing Kozzie, Melksham with a game under his belt, Lever and May back together. All signs point towards a better showing
  11. It was a joke my friend.
  12. I was going to leave this one and just listen in but after what I've just seen I felt the need to post. Just saw a video of some demons supporters hurling abuse at the Dees as they walked off the ground. WTF Dee's supporters? We are better than that surely? I know we saw a bit of that in the dark years but I honestly thought we were past that. I'm Sure no one one this good forum could possibly be so dense as to participate in this behaviour. I understand frustration at losses. Believe me, I didn't love that game either but to hurl abuse at the players who looked completely heartbroken at what had just occurred left me feeling sick. Obviously things need to be fixed, possibly things going on to affect their performance also? There is more to life than footy. Get a grip!
  13. Would just like to wish you all the best. I feel like this one could be brutal.
  14. Did you watch today's game? I have contempt for us at the moment. Doesn't surprise me that the AFL does as well.
  15. Is there an award for making it to now before turning it off? That's just embarrassing effort. I can handle losing. I can't handle complete lack of effort and no desire for contest.
  16. Welp, I've seen enough for today. I get it's a pre season but this is very disheartening after the long summer of talk. I just wanted to see... Something? Not this. Fremantle are just too quick. More of the same whenever we play them this year.
  17. 1st and most important question, Andy, how was the weather? Looked amazing. What was that big bright thing in the sky? What a fantastic game by the Dee's. So satisfying to watch after the week we've had. How do we beat the pies? Traditionally we cut off corridor and smash them with pressure. Is that enough? Has their game plan evolved or is it pretty much the same as last year, must admit I haven't been watching the pies as much this year.
  18. Well, just saw Port vs Sydney. I'm scared.
  19. I live 2 hours south of Perth. My private jet is in for a service and I absolutely refuse to fly with the commoners. I'm sorry but I have standards.
  20. Hi guys. What is it specifically that has turned Fremantle into our Kryptonite? Seem to get the better of us over the last few years. Coaching, personnel, plan or are they just too good? As a WA based Dee's fan, I'm very keen for us to get a comfortable win against them. I will, however, happily admit their supporters are much better than the eagles. A much more pleasant game day experience.
  21. Do you think we free Lever up a bit more against the bombers? I think he gets exposed as a 1v1 defender which is where he seemed to find himself a few times against the Eagles.
  22. I would like 30 seconds dedicated to Binman just saying "I told you so". Much better game. Our contest and defence is back. Pressure was amazing from the first bounce. Obviously very disappointed with our 4th quarter fade outs. Assuming it's fitness related and not Goody trying to put the game to bed defensively. Is it too late in the season to correct this? I would have thought most of our loading periods are done, the demons of '21 where just hitting their stride in the 3rd and 4th. It has been asked before but have we possibly messed up our fitness program for this year or is it more related to the huge amount of young players who just don't quite have that tank yet? As well as the interrupted pre season for a few.
  23. Get a grip man. We lost by a kick to a team that everyone expected us to be completely flogged by, including most of our "supporters". Won't take much for Binman to find some positivity because large parts of our game were good. Ran out of gas in the last and lost a close one. Game is looking much better and several players showing improvement. Kept a team who has averaged about 130 points the last few games to sub 90.
  24. Agreed. He loves to take pot shots. I think it's naive to think everything is running beautifully and aspects of our culture don't need work but I think you could say the same for every club. A run of bad form and it's stacks on Melbourne again.
