  1. From what Goody said and implied BBB and Spargo still out and TMac not looking likely. Add to that Chandler having scans with a 5 day break so not likely. Add to that May and Hibbo seeming proppy. So out or not available could be BBB, TMac, Spargo, Chandler, May(they seem to be playing him through the injury), Hibbo, presume Riv just cramp, think Viney was limping / iced knee as well. My take: 1. They seem set on Petty forward for a while but I think back would take some pressure off May and get our much vaunted backline back how it was. 2. Time to give Schache a go forward 3. If Viney not right Dunstan in 4. If May not right Turner in even though Tommo (kind of done now) is a better match for lockdown 5. If Chandler out maybe Harmes or even AMW in. Big unknowns this week selection wise.
  2. I think Gus would be more upset about being smashed (not tackled) into as he kicked and being pinged for incorrect disposal
  3. If Kossie goes, he goes. If he stays, he stays. What I don’t want is an ever, ongoing distraction that affects performance, which I think happened with Luke last year.
  4. I usually watch through the afl website - kinda ok https://www.afl.com.au/fixture?Competition=7&CompSeason=55&MatchTimezone=MY_TIME&Regions=22&ShowBettingOdds=1&GameWeeks=4&Teams=88&Venues=70#byround
  5. Rare opportunity for a small forward to strut their stuff and take Spargo’s spot, for a week at least. I know the theory behind TMac’s running but also think Schache as a 200cm 26 year old has an opportunity to show how he can be a more potent second ruck as well as forward.
  6. We didn’t play the wet conditions well but wow, how many intercept and forward marks did they take - in the rain!
  7. Well that wasn’t fun. Dons totally deserved the win, probably by a bigger margin. Really not convinced TMac and Melksham have much more to offer and we need look to the future without them. Overall we just looked slow, fumbly and lacking in pressure today. Hope Spargo is OK, free kick against him summed up the day.
  8. Hate is such a strong word ……. It was obligatory to hate Pies as a Melbourne supporter in years gone, the two just went together and that DNA never goes away. Hate Blues because they are Carlton. Hate Dons since 2000 and their no responsibility drug saga enhanced it. Hate Cats because of the unfair advantage they get. The hate is unhealthy but the schadenfreude of watching those teams lose was the only salve during the Dee Dark Days.
  9. I am not up with Don’s small forwards as the attention is always Stringer focused but presume if weather dictates we will sub out a tall back or forward early. Don’t think the predicted conditions will suit TMac nor BBB.
  10. I’m a bit behind the times but just watched “Show Me The Money” yesterday. What a professional recruiting team we have. They get deals done and seem super professional and good to deal with. it was particularly noticeable in the final scenes some Agent running around trying to get some deal done running past our team who are casually walking out, all deals done. Tim Lamb seems a ripper.
  11. Such good news! Was a little concerned about him given he and Jackson were long term friends. Maybe he saw how the WA press have treated Jackson OR maybe he just likes Dees.
  12. Looking at Goodies press conference I think Petty will move back to replace Hibbo who is out and they will bring BBB in to play three tall forwards. Given the forecast rain and being the third game at the ground not too sure about this strategy.
  13. Been a long time listener to the Pod since the time of Grapeviney. You guys are to be congratulated, the best analysis of Dees games available. How do you think we will balance the old with the future in our forward line. I think we need to give continuity to JVR while Jefferson has been strong in the 2s, although he is more a project for next year. Schache has been good as well and is only 26 I think. TMac and BBB complicate things by also putting in good performances even though injury clouds hover over both.
  14. I only punt little bets on Dee games and players but must admit I cashed out BBB for Coleman. Won 71 cents. Do I qualify yet as a high roller.
  15. Essentially what Collingwood saved getting rid of Grundy only paid for McStay. Great professional win. McVee, Grundy, Fritta, TMac, Viney, Hunter, Rivers, Sparrow all good. Must keep JVR in. Might be a game changer for Trac’s confidence in front of goals. Didn't really notice but no doubt Clarrie had plenty.
  16. Schache and Jefferson nice targets. Laurie very solid. Looking good!
  17. You mean like “Stu comes through with a view he may rue….phew!”
  18. Really think JJ or better Sparrow should be sub and rotate it through the year amongst a few. Melksham can get to his 100 father and son rule stuff later in the year. What happened to rewarding form. We have treated JJ poorly.
  19. I think this may be it and perhaps a tall like Tomlinson in for Hibbo who appears to be injured. Harsh on Sparrow but Kossie has to come in. TMac may come in for BBB. Over time they may rotate the sub through some of the younger players like JJ and Sparrow to give them a chop out.
  20. I think it may be unlucky Sparrow to sub and Pickett in. Like the idea of using any of Tommo, Turner or Hib depending on the oppo forward line.
  21. Welcome the all new super innovative, flexible footy department. Who really thought they would throw Petty forward to accompany JvR - love it. Presume with a tall oppo fwd line we play Tommo or TMac and with a shorter oppo fwd line we play Hibbo.
  22. The Kossie inclusion dilemma.can’t drop Chandler, Spargo or Nibbler. Would not be right to drop JJ, probably on firm should be Jack but that can’t happen. Sparrow? Play smaller fwd line and give BBB a rest?
  23. Gee Dogs are [censored], Dees beat 'em Gee Dees are [censored], Lions beat 'em Gee Lions are [censored], Dogs beat 'em. Should be an AFL Journo.
  24. Wonder if Dogs would consider trading that Baker chap - goes OK
  25. Does this mean Melksham is still in? Surely if May in doubt the Tommo wouldn’t be dropped?
