  1. The good old days when Goodwin misused him in our back line 😅 (2018). He'd have 50 more goals in his career had he started in the fwd line back then.
  2. Is it that he goes missing? Or maybe the surrounding cast of players around him are not providing him with space and matchups that he can exploit? Maybe a bit of both.
  3. I think even one more GF appearance would've been nice, instead not even a PF appearance after 2021. We must be honest with ourselves and accepts that our finals performance has been subpar.
  4. Appreciate the weekly effort in doing the podcast. I know we won't always agree on every single detail but it's always good to hear different perspectives. @binman I wanted to mention something, regarding the part where you mentioned all the people who are overly critical, sometimes even harsh on the players and coaches. I think it would be more worrisome if the response here on Demonland was apathy, not a single care in the world. That's when you have lost the hearts of the supporters. We all hurt after something like last Sunday's performance, we hurt because we care. We care because we love the team. We may not be perfect supporters, but we'll always be there. Go the Mighty Dees! 🔴🔵🔥🔥
  5. I know what I was able to research. So, I am kind of aware about the story from Neale Daniher up until now. That includes the dark years, and feel sorry for all of those who had to experience them. As I said before I'm a sports nuffie so Goodwin won't be the first coach in any sports that I may not be so supportive of, not that I want to bash him or anything. It's just my uneducated opinion on the matter. I am still learning and trying to be more knowledgeable of the finer details of the sport. But what we saw on Sunday, the lack of effort, was definitely very concerning. It felt, at least to me, a lack of care and leadership from the most part of the players. And I know there may be darker days ahead, no team stays on the top forever. But never going to jump off the boat, not from me.
  6. I never mentioned questions marks or asterisk 🤷🏻‍♂️
  7. What I meant is that there are coaches that are capable to extract the best of their team even if the list isn't perfect. Goodwin doesn't strike me as one, I don't mind being wrong btw. 2021 was a perfect season, including our performance on the field.
  8. Filth supporters are the first ones to call our premiership the "CoVid premiership".
  9. Maybe not a fluke, but definitely we had a perfect run. No major injuries and all our top talent playing at their peak of their powers. Perhaps Goodwin is a coach that can only do it when all things fall in place. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  10. Just one thing to add McAdam can't play in our fwd line if TMac goes back there. We would lose most of the very slim fwd pressure we have.
  11. I didn't consider him, Fritsch I think no chance he leaves. Didn't we re-sign Kozzy last year?
  12. Heard on the Deebrief podcast that one of our star players wants out, just a rumour. Thinking about it, if true, I can only see it being either Petracca or, most likely, Clarry. All the other stars in our team are close to retirement or J Lever who surely will soon be the captain of this team. I just hope those are just rumours and we can keep the core of this team together.
  13. I reckon BBB could have chosen to retire, and then take a new position within the club. He seems to be really interested in coaching the girls.
  14. Woewodin please, he deserves to start
  15. Same thing I've said before. Surely we should have thrown the kitchen sink for McKay, remember Carlton re-signed Curnow first. Some timid rumours about Georgiades, and nothing.
  16. What did Goodwin say in that pregame presser?
  17. Don't forget he was like 3 metres away from where the kick was taken. Unless he was like 8 feet tall, there was no way he could even touch that ball.
  18. See Hunter or Salem for clear examples of that. Favourites will always play as long as they are fit, regardless of form.
  19. Well, Buckley was let go by Collingwood in the middle of 2021. They were a competitive team for the most part of his tenure. After he had been there for what 9 years or so. It was the best decision they made. Look at clubs clinging to their underperforming coaches like Brisbane and Port. This is Simon's 8th year. We could see something similar?
  20. Thing is, we may as well beat an undermanned Collingwood. But I wouldn't be surprised if we then go and lose against WC or North.
  21. We should've been them in 2022 and 2023. 2022 I believe was mismanaged, peaked too early and didn't know how to best prepare for a shortened preseason, which in return resulted in half our team injured by September. 2023 It was a combination of bad luck and lack of Fwd depth. I am almost certain that had Melksham, Kozzy and JVR not missed any of the finals, we were a good chance to win the premiership. This year just feels like 2020 all over again.
  22. But that's the worrying part here. If the players did not care yesterday and just dished out that sort of "effort", it reflects very bad on the leadership both on the field and the coaching staff. If that were the case, definitely Goodwin can't continue. Sometimes relationships are beyond repair.
  23. They forgot to click the "refresh" button.
  24. What can that message be though? Supposedly Goodwin is like a father to all the players, what just happened in the last 6 months? Btw, is this related to Angus stepping down from his position at the club post forced retirement?
