I just beat my 5k best by 1:25 and I did it by picturing his awesome chase-down of Lewis Jetta in the 2nd. What an inspirational player he must be to play and train with.

I love that we really got to see the full extent of his pace today during that super chase he did on Jetta in the second (?) quarter. For a guy his size to catch up to a player as quick and nimble as a Jet, but to also have the strength to out-body Jonathan Brown, is just phenomenal. Huge props to him for getting his fitness to that stage.

The guy is disgustingly good. So much so that you almost hate him because of it.

I've said before that I thought he was singularly responible for the change in attitude in round 2, whick kick-started our good run of form. When he then went out of the team, I was not surprised to see ourr performances dip again. I cannot rate this guy highly enough and have been on his bandwagon since day one.

I was one of Bate's only defenders earlier in the year, but he was shocking last week. I'm glad he was dropped and can't wait to see what Maric can bring to the table.

I'd like to see an experiment done where players play a quick 11 on 11 for ten minutes in their warm-up, before going out to play the real game. I'd like to see what effects it has on how they start the game, end the quarter and end the game.

Jordie McKenzie is, IMO, singularly responsible for all of our good form this year. His quick handballs out of the packs and his tackling pressure is inspirational, and it certainly rubs off on the others.

Agreed. But there are some people who take the increased responsibility of playing in the AFL to heart, and dramatically increase their second and third efforts accordingly.

Cam Bruce is going to be around forever. He's that kind of player. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still here when he's 34. Massive endurance, light frame, good preparation all adds up to a long-lived player. Same with Cale Morton. He'll still be playing at Melbourne in 2025!

We're better this year than we were, but we're still not good enough to beat Victorian teams at the MCG. I would argue that we're still crap based on that.

McKenzie adds something to this team that his non-performance at Casey belies. His tacking and in-and-under, quick-handball-out-of-the-pack work is something that this team really needs.
