  1. The only thing that can replace a meal is another meal.
  2. What would be more embarrassing to us? That our rejects are actually good, or that they suck? Surely it's the latter.
  3. "Pine for the fjords!?" What kind of talk is that?
  4. It's barely a footy thread. If it weren't so popular, I'd say it should be put in the Off-Topic section of the forum. But if it did go there, it would die a slow and horrible death because nobody ever visits Off-Topic.
  5. Is that because the ice sucks or because it's a crime to put any ice in beer whatsoever.
  6. Agreed. I hold no ill-will towards Chris Judd (or Tom Scully) for pursuing the largest contracts they could. But the extracurricular payments Judd gets makes me extraordinarily skeptical of his moral outlook. Likewise, Tom Scully's willingness to lie to people he had worked closely with for two years is just totally unnecessary and (to my mind) non-sensical. In the words of the judge from Shawshank, they strike me as "particularly icy and remorseless men." It chills my blood just to look at them. I don't have any real problems with lying, per se. It's unnecessary lying that I detest.
  7. I was defending him against people who wanted to delist him two years ago. I still reckon he has at least as much to offer us as Jordie Gysberts.Bottom line is I bags'ed him first. You can still support him, but I'm first in line!
  8. I thought Evans was my boy.
  9. Clearly you've picked up that habit as a means of coping with your unneccessarily long and boring biopic. At least you learned more than me from that film.
  10. To be honest, I feel like I'd be able to do it too, but I know a lot of people who wouldn't. Not everyone has that kind of balls. To you and me, it might be easy, or you might feel that not looking at the coach will only make things worse. But not everybody is like that.
  11. Pretty damn easy to say sitting behind your computer. Have you ever had to make a speech in front of a small group of people who don't really care what you have to say? Imagine the nerves you get in that situation, then multiply it however much thousands of people riding on your every move would add to the pressure. And the nice big cherry on top is your senior coach going absolutely postal at you because of a mistake that you're already increadibly embarrassed about.
  12. Clearly I was a little overzealous in my initial comment. This is a silly thread, so my post's not out of place, but I refer you to my Demonland Player of the Year votes, where I gave Cale 2 votes. After a little more consideration of the game, I realized that there were a few others who were better than him. Also, when I said 2nd best on ground, I meant for Melbourne. It goes without saying that I couldn't give a rats who was good for Collingwood. PS is anyone else having a little trouble posting today? This site's lagging a little, and it caused me to accidentally triple post a while back. I'm on firefox, if it matters.
  13. 2nd best on ground. Haters gonna hate. Bad turnover though.

  16. Sorry, pal.
  17. If I do, it will make it considerably easier to be here till you die.
  18. Winning is the thing where you have tiger blood and finish on a higher score than your opponent. I know it's been a long time since we've won anything, so I don't blame you for not understanding.
  19. I only hate Hawthorn when they play us. The rest of the time I only envy and respect them.
  20. What do you know? So do we!
  21. Just alegedly hold a dangerous weapon for a couple of aleged minutes and you're right, it would seem . . . Alegedly.
  22. I think it's bad form to talk to yourself.
  23. I love going to [injunction] too. It's my absolute favourite place. I really love the steamed [censored] and the fried [patent pending]. I hope I can go there again someday . . . if I can still remember how to get there.
  24. Anyone who thinks hurt feelings mean jack is obviously never going to be a part of a successful us-vs-them environment. I liken sport to war, in that you develop an absolute brotherhood against the world - a team of fighters under the command of a select few who they may not like, but who they damn well respect. Mark Neeld is making these Demons salty, so that when the time comes, they will be ready to eat their own guts and ask for seconds. Get on or get off.
  25. I understand that you're unwilling to jump into bed with someone when you don't know how well they will perform, but someone who is really intent on sitting back and watching would be more discreet when doing so. Those who don't post at all (or rarely) on an issue are the ones who are really keen on observing without passing judgment. You can be content to watch without needing to inform everyone that you're doing so. But this is a footy forum, so if there's a place for that kind of thing anywhere, it's here.
