    The fact that Geelong nearly lost to that utterly awful Richmond side (albeit not at their home ground), we should really rate ourselves against them.

    Assuming the Geelong and GWS results go our way by only 1 point each next round, we need to beat Carlton by about 10 goals tomorrow in order to make it. We're still in the hunt, but by god we have to pick up some percentage this round.

    I've always been a big fan of Ben Brown. He's tall, works hard and has that kind of wiry strength that is very underrated.

    If we had a 30% probability of making the finals every year over the past 10 years, we would have made the finals over 3 times. I'd greatly prefer those odds to the ones we've actually experienced.

    Considering Brent fricken' Moloney was a bee's you-know-what away in a horrific losing year, an inside mid like Viney is definitely our best chance in the coming years.

    It's also a sign that we know know where our teammates are supposed to (and going to) be. That's really important because it's what separates the experienced and finals-ready teams from the developing ones.

    I fully thought this was up in Sydney. Beat Carlton, sure. North lose to Sydney up there, sure. Win against Geelong in that shitehole AND expect GWS to beat North down here with the Roos fighting for their lives? We are no chance.

    Seems not. There's a gaping hole in the soul of that footy club that no amount of premierships can fill.

    It'll be hard to do this year though; hawthorn seems hell-bent on knocking over an even bigger hoodoo. Believe it or not, they've never won four premierships in a row.

    Nor do I, but they've picked up an annoying habit of winning despite playing poorly recently. (PS: Can you tell I'm still mad about losing against them a few weeks ago.)
