  1. Because she's said so. She's established a fashion company in Melbourne, and wants to continue pursuing it in Melbourne.
  2. This is the sense I got from speaking to Kevin a couple of years ago, when I met him at a NSW Demons function prior to playing Sydney at the SCG, Kozzy had at that stage extended his contract. Kevin was thrilled he did that, and told me he had been urging him to stage at Melbourne, because the club have been fantastic in looking after his best interests. This is why I have maintained I can't see Kozzy leaving, especially as Ardu wants to stay in Melbourne. Kevin and Ardu are huge keys in this, they're very supportive and loving of Kozzy and they love that the club are, too.
  3. I yearn for the days in my youth when 191 cm was considered tall.....
  4. Why are Melbourne supporters so Chicken Little-like? Drop an acorn and the sky is falling in.....
  5. All those saying we need a rebuild is annoying me a bit. We have so much young talent, the basis for future proofing the team is there. We've recruited really well in the last few years, and have a wealth of youth.
  6. Clarry has had possessions, sadly a lot of his disposals were long bombs that didn't do much, in fact often they were found by oppo players. He just needs to fine tune his play a bit. Not a big deal, it's certainly fixable.
  7. Mid 90s - late 2000s were also lean Pies years. In fact in late 1990s they were almost financially destitute.
  8. Everyone played better in Round 1, I thought we were very unlucky to lose against GWS. But I don't think they've played well in the last couple of games, and they're not alone.
  9. To me, I don't see either going. I think Trac made a statement by changing his management to one that is not accredited to do trade or contract negotiations, as saying "I'm staying put". Oliver also doesn't want to leave, the main person he had a beef with is no longer in that role. I do think both need to show a better standard of playing than the last couple of weeks, and I feel as though that will happen. To me, the media are being their usual muckraking selves in that they're dirty with the fact their predictions in the last couple of years didn't pan out, and they're making stuff up. Again.
  10. Doing his bit for the good of the club ;)
  11. Petty in both teams??? How did he manage that?
  12. The only issue I have with this is that 6 now rightly belongs to Leb....
  13. His role in the coaching side of the AFLW team was voluntary while he was playing with us. I had a conversation with Ben about this a few times, and he told me when he and Tom Campbell marched with us at Midsumma that Melbourne could only offer him 1 day a week in a paid role because of restrictions in the soft salary cap. Stinear told him they'd love to have him, but the problem at Melbourne is that it's had a very stable coaching program at AFLW with little departures. He told me then that Essendon may be able to offer him 4 days a week with their program. It's a sad situation but understandable. Melbourne couldn't risk breaching their salary cap, which is a real shame.
  14. Good to hear Luker is on the mend, that was a bit scary to hear how sick he got. And great news about Melksy, Kolt and Knuckle, can't wait to see them back. Poor Marty, hope he's not in too much pain.
  15. Jeez, as a club it seems we're damned if we do, damned if we don't. Kate Roffey was pushed out of the presidency for not doing exactly what Brad Green is doing. Is there no satisfying some people?
  16. I was put out by Schwarter getting The Ox, simply because my surname is Oxley, and that was my brother's nickname when he played junior footy!
  17. In all due respect, who the hell has any regard for what that [censored] says?
  18. Players were named as early as December last year, including Kozzy https://www.fremantlefc.com.au/news/1705299/huge-names-join-afl-indigenous-all-stars-team-as-tickets-go-on-sale
  19. Point of correction - they had about 3 years of a multicultural round, introduced in 2011, but the concept was abandoned about a decade ago. So no, there is no multicultural round.
  20. The media I believe are muckraking on this one. Interesting how the headlines were very selective about Kozzy's quote - "I'm contracted there", yet, they deliberately left out of the headline what was following - "I'm contracted there. I'm having fun at Melbourne, I love the club." Paints a very different perspective, doesn't it? Also I got intel over the weekend that the texts Kozzy sent to his friends in Perth were sent last year, and was referring to playing in the indigenous team against Freo. Again, paints a very different perspective.
  21. I'd love to have Hoges back right now. I've always had high regard for him. I'm pleased things are working out well for him at the moment.
  22. Then go to training and have a chat with him. He's really open to it at the moment. I've had a couple of chats with him at training, and this report is reflecting pretty much what he's told me in conversation. He's the happiest I've seen him in a long time.
  23. I don't think a lot of people wanted to lose Hogan. Or Harmes.
  24. Chat GTP is optimistic to think Collingwood will make it to the GF, they're geriatric now, the Geelong of 2025.
