  1. Oh I think you will be pleasantly surprised. 2022 will be even better than 2021 IMHO for the Dees. I think the comp will take more than a year to catch us up, in spite of all the bluster we are hearing during the trade period from the likes of the Blues, Magpies, Dons and Cats. We will win more games in 2022 than 2021 and go back to back.
  2. Yes, l think the timing is right for grandiose public building announcements, as the state government is looking around for public infrastructure spends post COVID. What better than to spend up big on Australia’s favourite hobby AND religion - AFL Football in Australia’s favourite sporting precinct.
  3. Yes, and l understand the comment from Daniel while standing over him after he slammed Max’s head into the concrete turf was “get up you girl!” Wonder what the follow-up was at the end of the match….
  4. I wouldn’t under estimate the power of our recent flag in this. It makes us just so much more attractive as a destination. If you doubt that, just listen to the heart felt interviews with Jack Viney post the grannie where he related how hard it was for him when he first arrived at the Dees when we were the pits. It is so much easier when you are successful, that is assuming you are an elite talent which will enable you to make the team. Few are in that class…
  5. Good luck making Carlton work. Have heard this every year for the last 15. It will take at least another 10…
  6. Here, here!! Well said…
  7. I assume that is Kane Cornes, one of the most moronic commentators in the last 20 years. I’m so glad we don’t have him anywhere near our coaching staff. If we had followed his advice immediately after half time in the Gannie, we would have taken McDonald off, illegally substituted by the medical sub, and reduced Viney’s game time, all of which would have guaranteed a defeat. He is a sensationalist moron. Keep him away from our club at all cost. Our coaching staff are 1000% more astute than him
  8. Isn’t it wonderful to be in the position now, where we are generally very comfortable about our current team. My only doubt would be about our players getting a older. Specifically, Hibbert’s stopping role, although that can be filled by our immediate reserves. Listening to SEN post the granny, the talk is filled with other teams ideas about how they improve their lists. Virtually none of them would improve our list. Clearly, we must not be complacent and fortunately no-one at the club appears to be that, but we also appear to be ever wishing to improve. Your thoughts?
  9. I think one feeds off the other. It is not a coincident that Collingwood, Carlton, Geeling, Hawthorn and Essendon have the most feral supporters, as well as the the most arrogant and self satisfied administrations. A lot of the reasons why all five of them are destined to be mid list at best for the foreseeable future
  10. I think we should be all proud of the way the club and its supporters have behaved over the last week or so, including the ridiculous spout with the Bulldogs over “that” song. I think we have generally remain humble but proud. Whilst this may have had something to do with the action occurring 2k km away in Perth, we celebrated for a week, but strictly down to business when the draft was in sight bringing off some of the more deft drafting moves just in the last week. Imagine how that would contrast with a Geelong, Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon or West Coast in the same situation?
  11. Yes, we must always consider what environment these guys are being brought into. Entering a list when that team is on top or near the top is a totally different learning environment than those teams in the bottom 15 in the ladder. It is also a far more attractive environment in which to attract elite players who may be playing at less successful clubs (a situation the Dees know only to well). It is also an environment in which it makes it easier to attract the elite, whether they be coaches, training, medical staff or management. In short success builds on success, and this will be so for the next 5-7 years. Let’s not stuff it up by petty thinking, lack of ambition or complacency in Management. Certainly the most exciting time in my 60 or so years following the Dees.
  12. Interesting pick up. I think we are backing our coaching here: elite inside, but lacks kicking skills. Isn’t that where Choco excels ie teaching others to kick and handball? This may be a stroke of genius!
  13. Partially agree, although l still think the Bullies are one of the better run clubs in the competition along with us, the Swans, Brisbane, and Eagles. It should be a great game…
  14. Our rucks are substantially better than their and we can match them in the mid field. It will be close all day but l predict we will overwhelm them in the final quarter. Go Dees!
