  1. Very interesting read. I'm 100 pages in and fuming at the total power and nepotism displayed by Demetriou and McLaughlin. From the lack of transparency in appointments and contracts to the toxic work culture and bullying at AFL HQ. There's helps of gold quotes from club heavyweights and industry insiders. Haven't yet got to the tanking episode or where the Dees were pre warned about the doping scandal and the Bombers were pushed under the bus. We all point the finger at the Bombers for taking 'suppliments', but its a very grey area and numerous clubs were on a similar path. Highly recommend so far.
  2. Read Gawny's diary just after Christmas. Entertaining summation of each game. Now onto Michael Warner's The Boys Club - power, politics and the AFL. An amazing eye opener into the corruption and power of Demetriou and McLaughlin. Well worth a read if you are looking for a summer time footy related book.
  3. Good lord! Just had a quick scan of this thread for the first time. It's the Demonland equivalent of Seinfeld... a thread about nothing, yet somehow entertaining!
  4. Recall reading somewhere that covid vaccination is far more effective at preventing infection than acquiring covid is against reinfection. Will search for a link Edit. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/covid-natural-immunity-what-you-need-to-know
  5. I'm still a fan of the Weed. Reckon what is stopping him is mostly between his ears. Had a few injury setbacks too over the last couple of years. His body shape looks much improved. Stronger through the thighs, hips and shoulders, which will help prevent him getting pushed around in the contest for marks. Hope the tank is similarly improved. Wouldn't be surprised if Weed overtakes Tmac by end of 2022. Be a good sign for the health of our KPF stocks. HNY to all on Land. And what a great footy year it has been.
  6. An excellent Christmas bounty in the Stiff house!
  7. Really good insight into the person that is our club president. What an amazing leader. Kate speaks very well: no bulls**t, just clear and direct. We are blessed with some fine people doing the important work in the background setting us up for continued success. https://omny.fm/shows/afl-daily/afl-daily-20-12-21
  8. Isn't he based in Qld these days? Junior McDonald, Stephen Smith or Chunk might be my guess. I'd be happy with Chunk handing over the cup. Not traditional, but a great honour for a very honourable man
  9. If its done through Ticketek expect the wheel of death on your screen for 45 mins before timing out and requesting you do it again, and again, and again...
  10. Still waiting on 2 beanies ordered day after GF. Well, it is a cool summer so far!
  11. Worth noting that Taylor also 'lost out' on the opportunity to use a number of 1st and 2nd rounders when they were traded for May, Lever, Langer, Brown, etc
  12. Such a shame for RDB. But his health (and ours) is much more important that being there on Sunday. Hope he and his lovely wife have a speedy recovery. I guess it'll be left up to Mark Neeld to hand over the cup 🤣
  13. Any info on him would be appreciated Dazzle. Back, mid, forward, etc? TIA
  14. Did the brother of Paddy Cripps go undrafted? He's a 200+ ruck
  15. Hyperbole. Surely you are joking. Italians clearly do not have a long history of prejudice, violence, bigotry, slavery, etc against them. No where near apples with apples Ribbing italians for being poor fighters during the war is on a par with Melbourne supporters and the ski fields.
  16. Hitler to Churchill before WW2: "If war breaks out you do realise the Italians will be on our side this time?" Churchill: "That's only fair. We had to put up with them last time..."
  17. Which one would look back on their career with a greater sense of achievement?
  18. Really? Would never have guessed...
  19. Ron Barassi is a good German name
  20. Couldn't read, paywall. However, Hodgey, Walsh, Roo and Whitfield didn't suffer too badly from being no 1. Mixture of player mindset, club culture, development and luck with injuries. The no 1 picks were wasted on us, we were a shambles. Had Watts and Scully come to us now, I reckon the result would be a 180 deg turnaround Ironic that Watts' pick turned into Fritter. What Jack should've been
  21. I'm sorry, I cannot read or listen to anything supplied by a 57 yo man who still dyes his hair blonde Next...
