  1. Tracc has come a long way, but I think there are others are ahead of him in the MFC leadership stakes. Jake Lever will be our next captain IMO.
  2. Watching the GF on TV live i remember Pearce's comments in the 3rd when Dogs went 19pts up. She mentioned how long it had been since we goaled and the value of resetting the momentum. Said something like that we just needed to find a way of getting a goal, toughing out a way forward, to reset. Then Viney pushed out space for Harmes to kick to Fritter and off we went She read exactly where the game was at and described it succinctly. Perfect commentary Wish there was more like that within the commentary team and less 'wow-wee!' dipsh*ts
  3. Touch and go for R1 according to Richo https://www.afl.com.au/news/705636/flag-demon-in-huge-r1-doubt-after-nasty-corkie
  4. I know its just a quick highlights clip, but a few observstions: The Weid is bigger and stronger across the chest and shoulders and looks to have confidence in his actions. Competition and pressure amongst our key forwards is an excellent sign. Go Weid! Chandler might surprise a few and push for senior selection this year. He's clever, a good tackler and neat kick. Kozzie and Spargo will know he's nipping at their heels. I love Jack Viney, but the cheap hip and shoulders should not be part of his game. Hopefully its just a one off match sim thing Lastly, its great to see so many forward entries being low hit ups, players lowering their eyes. Remember our frustrations a couple of years ago watching repeat long bombs into the F50? How times have changed!
  5. Cannot read due to paywall. However, its easy to talk in hindsight after your first club were clearly the best team of the year and just won the flag convincingly. Would he be saying this if we finished outside of finals in 2021? Possibly not. Might have been nice for JH to have sorted out his stuff when he was on our list several years ago and stayed. He had a lot on his plate and moving back to his mates in WA was always dangerous. As a club we still had much to learn about player development and wellbeing. But gaining pick 6 and then using that on May was a master-stroke. Loved JH as a MFC player, the early game where he tore Rance apart is a favourite. Do I miss him though? Not really.
  6. Meanwhile, Sam Walsh signs on for 4 years at Carlton, taking him to FA And Quaynor signs for 3 at Pies
  7. I gather you might be alluding to Liam Jurrah and the family troubles that led him to return back to his home. Tippa is a top end Tiwi Islander, Jurrah from desert country Yuendumu, Central Australia. They are quite different cultures. Not all indigenous Australians are the same, or even comparable.
  8. BTW, I'm surprised no numbers nerds here have commented upon today's date: 2/2/22
  9. I went to my regular psychic appointment today and it was closed
  10. I followed the Boroughs in the VFA as a kid and thought Fred Cook was a legend. Went to games just to see him play. Always expected something interesting to happen: a fight, a crowd interaction, a bag of goals or a bag of d**gs! Certainly lived life to the full, whatever you thought of him. Vale Fred Cook.
  11. Didn't Goody say that Jack was his favourite player in an interview with Gus pre GF?
  12. True daisycutter, but there's a bit more to it than that. Approx 1 mill Australians are under 5 yrs old and not yet eligible for covid vax. 5-12s have only recently had access to covid vaccines. And hopefully those with legitimate allergies or other vax health issues will be able to take the new Novovax option The rest, well... there's always a shallow end to the gene pool How many on AFL lists haven't met the deadline? 2 or 3?

Heard he died of covid, ironically caused by some bat out of hell I'll see myself out...

Very interesting read. I'm 100 pages in and fuming at the total power and nepotism displayed by Demetriou and McLaughlin. From the lack of transparency in appointments and contracts to the toxic work culture and bullying at AFL HQ. There's helps of gold quotes from club heavyweights and industry insiders. Haven't yet got to the tanking episode or where the Dees were pre warned about the doping scandal and the Bombers were pushed under the bus. We all point the finger at the Bombers for taking 'suppliments', but its a very grey area and numerous clubs were on a similar path. Highly recommend so far.

Read Gawny's diary just after Christmas. Entertaining summation of each game. Now onto Michael Warner's The Boys Club - power, politics and the AFL. An amazing eye opener into the corruption and power of Demetriou and McLaughlin. Well worth a read if you are looking for a summer time footy related book.

Good lord! Just had a quick scan of this thread for the first time. It's the Demonland equivalent of Seinfeld... a thread about nothing, yet somehow entertaining!

Recall reading somewhere that covid vaccination is far more effective at preventing infection than acquiring covid is against reinfection. Will search for a link Edit. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/covid-natural-immunity-what-you-need-to-know
  19. I'm still a fan of the Weed. Reckon what is stopping him is mostly between his ears. Had a few injury setbacks too over the last couple of years. His body shape looks much improved. Stronger through the thighs, hips and shoulders, which will help prevent him getting pushed around in the contest for marks. Hope the tank is similarly improved. Wouldn't be surprised if Weed overtakes Tmac by end of 2022. Be a good sign for the health of our KPF stocks. HNY to all on Land. And what a great footy year it has been.
  20. An excellent Christmas bounty in the Stiff house!

Really good insight into the person that is our club president. What an amazing leader. Kate speaks very well: no bulls**t, just clear and direct. We are blessed with some fine people doing the important work in the background setting us up for continued success. https://omny.fm/shows/afl-daily/afl-daily-20-12-21
  22. Isn't he based in Qld these days? Junior McDonald, Stephen Smith or Chunk might be my guess. I'd be happy with Chunk handing over the cup. Not traditional, but a great honour for a very honourable man

If its done through Ticketek expect the wheel of death on your screen for 45 mins before timing out and requesting you do it again, and again, and again...
