    NOW we are starting to get there with a good suggestion from Designer and agreement we need a song . Any others agree ? . I like the song , a great message and easy to sing . Never been tried before to my knowledge . What a wonderful world by Lou Armstrong is great .

    It is ludicrous to mention the curse . As I have said it was a fun way to get attention not discussion . Stand up Sir and leave the discussion if you find it a waste of your time .

    I am a passionate supporter . My wife comes from a good Dee family . Gawny was amazed that my older daughter went to what games at Etihad . Jim Stynes was amazed that my younger daughter had been a member for 9 years when she was 8 . Ron Barassi calls me the other Hutchy . I would really appreciate a sensible discussion as , at the moment , I am thinking I might have to go up to Level 4 to minimize embarrassment . I did go up the back once 39 years ago to have a joint ( can I say that ? ) . Happy to rank the suggested songs and have a vote .

    I also find it strange but am struggling with the metaphor ( although a great clip) ! Not the reaction from Demonland that I had hoped for . A bugler is on my to do list . Contacted the cheer squad as they had one but crickets . Hard to smuggle into the G as you need approval from the AFL . I also need their approval to print 1000's of pamphlets to promote the charities QR codes and web addresses . If I sought approval for the Apollo Mission I would need the ok from the AFL , MFC , Cheer Squad , Demonland and wife ( no one likes others meddling in their business ) and it would never get done . Like commissioning a new song . We need to keep finding outside ideas to help our team . Think Burgess , Williams and Yze . The song is the best pre game song . People come from around the world to hear it sung at Anfield and will do the same at the G . The Dees deserve the best ! Cant get passed status for replying to messages . Tech dinosaur .

    That is on the to do list . Have asked the cheer squad as we used to have one but crickets . Need approval from the AFL and not easy to sneak in . Willing to hire one . Any ideas ?

    The reaction is not what I expected . 

    We have a great club and supporter base . Could not get to the Richmond game but soooo excited to hear that the Dee army has heard the Bell Toll and is waking after a long sleep .

    We need a song to get behind and a cause to support .

    Angus Brayshaw is a Movember ambassador and goes out with one the Frawley girls .

    I love the slogan " When you are part of the MFC you will never walk alone " . Great if they had a YNWA week every year . Wanted to print 1000's of pamphlets with the charities QR codes and web address but need AFL approval . Not doing this as if I tried to get approval for the Apollo Mission from the AFL , MFC , Cheer Squad , MCC or Demonland ( no one likes others meddling in their business ) it would NEVER happen . Like commissioning an new song .

    The ringing of the Bell is magnificent and a wonderful call to the faithful that our team are coming onto the ground . I replay the clip regularly but always stop when the singing starts . The song is way too hard to sing . Your Gunna Die is not like you will never walk alone . PLEASE - some serious suggestions !!!!!!!

    I am not able to re invent another song/wheel .

    The song is sung all around the world by not just soccer clubs . The words are so appropriate for not only a team but for mental health .

    Do you think it is important to get our supporters to do some singing . We need some pre match entertainment to get the crowds excited .

    Some interesting suggestions . Like a unique song ( thought every song was unique ) .

    My marketing skills eg curse which was put in for fun , are poor .

    All teams need to minimise opposition weapons . 

    Can we agree that we desperately need a song that generates passion for our players ?

    Lets have all your legitimate suggestions . We can rank them . If we have 99 votes and the top is NOT YNWA it looks like I might have to go up to Level 4 and sing . Went up the top 39 years ago to have a joint .

    This is VERY IMPORTANT in my opinion .

    Great to read the stories regarding 64 . I was born in 59 . The only GF I have seen the Dees win was the reserves in 1970 . Had a huge bag of ripped up newspapers and telephone books for throwing during the main game ( ok to do even in the members ) and used it on the 2's . At Waverly for the PF v Hawks and watched us loose the 2 GF's in the first minute . Ayres punching Jimmy in the head at the first bounce ( no remonstration ) and Wallis smashing Greeny's throat before the game . Will NEVER forgive Long for Simmons bump .

    Sorry one more post for tonight . I get the feeling you think this is a joke . PA supporters singing " Never Tear Us Apart " fires up their players ( not as good as the HAKA ) . I saw their supporters help the team win a GF once and they plan to do it again . A wonderful supporter lead initiative . I know Carlton are looking for a song . We are looking for our FIRST song , not our 10th . I cant see Penny Arcade /Lane scaring any opposition . Maybe Tie me kangaroo down sport if you want something Ozzie . It would be better than Collingwood playing Metallica's Nothing Else Matters . Ha Ha . The song was written by Hammerstein and Rogers for a musical not a football match . Bill Shankly , the legendry Liverpool manager ( the Gates at Anfield are named after him ) heard the song and was " in awe " of the words and tune . Why has the song become the most famous pre game song in the world ? All passionate supporters I have spoken to like the idea and I am serious . Have a good night !

    Would the other Hutchison ( spelt differently ) be silly enough to put his number on the message ? I love the song . It is the final song in the musical Rogers thought their best . Lets make it ours as I cant think of anything else to match Port Adelaide . Saw 95000 sing the song at the G and imagined the Red of Liverpool as the Red and Blue of the Dees . No curse eh ? What would have been the odds of the MFC powerhouse not winning a GF in 50 years in 1965 ? Norm Smith played in 4 and coached 6 winning grand finals . 10 out of our 12 . The Bambino Red ( that colour again ) Sox curse lasted for 87 years after they moved Babe Ruth on . They did exorcisms outside Fenway Park and a supporter even took a cap to the top of Everest to end it . It is a GREAT cause and I hope you will all send it some good fortune . The fuse is lit . When you are part of the MFC you will never walk alone !

    This is being distributed . I hope the faithful like the idea . On the 16th of May 2021 the Bell will Toll for Melbourne Football Club ( MFC ) supporters to sing You Will Never Walk Alone . The song will be dedicated to the MFC and people suffering the consequences of mental health disease . The Apollo ( god of healing , music , songs and CURSES ) Mission will support the Movember and the Danny Frawley Centre charities and exorcise the Norm Smith Curse . The club has been informed as have senior members of the Present and Past Players Association. Our supporter groups dream is that if we play PA in this year’s GF we can respond to their song and tear them apart . The song is from the Hammerstein and Rogers musical Carousel ( 1945 ) . The Liverpool and Celtic clubs used it after hearing the Gerry and the Pacemakers cover ( 1965 ) . It is used by clubs around the world including the Tokyo FC . All spectators are invited to sing with us for a wonderful cause . Please spread the word as the count down has started . An media statement will be released next week .     BBB had a quiet start but was a great addition to the team . I got very excited when he lined up from 55m . Understandably rusty . Thought Bailey was in trouble then saw Dangerfields report and thought they were identical . Tom then Harry for Thomlinson and Weids in the forward line . He has played a few games with Browny already . I like Chandler .
